ModelX:hehe.. this market shows true human nature... e dey be like film..... I believe xlm still has a good chane in the coming days/weeks for doge, whales have taken profit |
MyChoice1:Good stuff... Nice to hear success stories. Always leaving some portfolio in fiat can aslo be a form or risk management... It gives you gire power to snipe some entries... Im also keen on xlm let me do some TA On the hourly chart (1st pic), its tested the 0.36 level thrice the past week (purple arrows) and managed to form a higher low each time (yellow arrows) even with the exrp sell off... It's primed to take on that level the 4th time... I betting it'd break it. On the weekly chart (second pic) we see last weeks close reclaimed the previous resistance (blue line) and its currently sitting above it... It's also obvious from the chart that when it runs, it runs well Let's see how it goes...
|
Jmandotcom:It wasn't just doge.. lots of micros moved. When micros move, that way, you know a shift in the cycle will soon occur. Either folks take money into fiat and betece dumps or they move profits into betece and it pumps Doge pumps can also signify the start of an alt season |
ModelX:Hehehe.. Apologies hope it wasn't doge and exrp that did you dirty? |
Akinola2345:Its overdue a run... either way, its a coyn I never jump into.. It's retraces are usually heavy |
billyG:I believe it would. We're in a bull market... Not waiting on it though I see a structure forming. It has tested the 0.75 level 2x and got heavily rejected. Lets see if it can form a higher low above 0.3 this time before giving that level 3rd shot. Also, market sentiment is that its dead so it may just surprise everyone. It's still a major cap In the short term, I'm looking for an exit pump that may get rejected between 0.5-0.6 before it comes down and forms a proper bottom. Either way, its a useless coyn that can just do anything |
kolagbemi:Nice explanation... I could not have explained it this way hehe @not needing a stop loss... betece can dump at anytime leaving you pants down in altys and wishing you put a stop loss on them Sometimes, your seemingly perfect entry can e nuked by betece leaving you in tears. If you're trading leverage, then a stop loss is key. For spot, it is a tricky subject. In a bullrun, it can limit your profit as they are usually hunted before a significant move up. With more trading, you know what to use at each time and also depends on what timeframe you trade. Understanding the market cycle is also important... There's a way betece and eith will be that you'd know they'd give altys room to run for at least 2 weeks... That phase just happened. Generally, I prefer to close my trades myself and not rely on a stop loss to prevent losses except on a pnd we witnessed last week |
kolagbemi:For number 1, frankly speaking, I cant tell. It's like going to the park and asking if the last bus that left would return. It may, it may not. I don't advise buying into green candles but sometimes I do if I think the potential upside is significant. For instance, I am not so bothered buying eith at its current price cos I know when it runs, it would not matter if I bought at 1300 or 1400... If eith wasn't moving, then I'd say to wait for entries but now there seems to be a market wide breakout and if eith continues up, they'd likely follow. Practically, what you could do is to look for those who haven't moved much with significant potential upside and sitting on support. Alternatively, you could enter on a flip of previous resistance. 2. It depends on the pulse of the market. sometimes, I sell part of my stash to fiat and wait for a dip to reenter same coin. If I think it's done moving for a while, I might just exit my whole position or leave a small part just incase it keeps moving. Reentering other coins depend on the way the market looks. On a green day like this moreso after the microcap run last week, id rather move to fiat except I identify a potential good breakout. Cos when the marked pullsback, I'd get better entries on coins that have not moved On other days when there are early runners, I swap. Allso, sometimes I make a quick trade to increase my eith or betece stash.. Its tricky I'd five u an examle.. Last week I sold part of my uni and later the rest at 19.5 from my 5.1 entry a month ago. Seeing that micros were poppin and that betece would likely continue up, I waited and took entries on eith, zil, vet and atom. Obviously, those entries are in profit while Uni hovering around 18.5 and seems to be distributing. It may still run more but I'm not bothered. On another day, I might just have left profits in cash if betece was showing weakness. in summary, taking profit in a basic way is selling part or all after a big move. What you do with what you sold can go several ways |
Jmandotcom:Hmmm... You guys are taking what happened in exrp and doge as the essence of this space. Thats not it.. Like Chinua Achebe said, it's like living on the bank of the Niger and washing your hands with spittle. If all you're interested in this space is the quick pumps ot a few coins, then frankly speaking, you've missed 99% of it cos that's where money is lost not made. If at all, I allocate at most 1-3 % of my portfolio on such |
ModelX:Hehe... You're so 2013... 2017 was a bubble just like the dot-com bubble of year 2000. Those internet companies later grew into multi billion dollar companies in the coming years making tgeir bubble prices seem like a joke. Ssme also, this space has matured past the bubble with lots more money and confidence in the market. Now people and companies are confident to hold betece as a long-term store of value Crypt0 was banned in the US at a time. Now they are in charge of the market, recognise it as legitimate income and insist one must pay tax on profits made. FYI, U.S companies heavy investment in betece helped push this bullrun. More companies are rushing in. PayPal now allows US customers buy crypt0 in app same like our own piggyvest If you're talking about volatility, the U.S stock market has been more volatile than crypt0 this year. With every bullrun comes scams and if you got caught in doge, then its absolutely your fault. We tell folks like you to buy betece or eith but no.. na doge una want |
AbdulJabbar1:Good advice... I struggle with taking profits sometimes but getting better at it... Once I sell, I look away Betece runs the market. Thanks for reminding me... I had to add it up. It messed some of my altys up last 3 months... Some trade to stack more betece, some more fiat... I trade for the fiat. |
puregrace:Hehe... I discussed most of that in my full post you quoted Obviously, betece is number 1 |
AbdulJabbar1:The crypt0 space has def grown Given betece brutalised altys for almost 3 months, I expected the alt season to last at upto 2 months... If betece can get above 40k, and eith to around 2k and hold, then another alt cycle starts.... Last last, oil go reach everybody hand... Just need to be in front of the moves |
MyChoice1:Truth is I have no idea... I don't day trade often. I only sell eith after a significant move up But when you sold, what price were you looking at buying back? |
Just when we were about having fun, the king wakes to ruin our party.... Hopefully, betece has good pauses on its way up so altys can recover Make betece respect itself |
kolagbemi:Much appreciated baba... We're all here to build a community and learn from each other to become better investors. Good you're learning risk management... Unfortunately, you started in the midst of a bullrun and couldn't snipe good entries. I'd say the best risk management is your entry... Person wey buy eith at 350 wouldn't be bothered about stop loss except at certain times of the market. |
Linadinna:Nobody knows when betece will move or not. Don't get carried away by unusual predictions. We know it seems to have chosen the upside and is due a significant move up. That move may start today or anyday |
I noticed some are looking towards coins to buy and hold for sometime.... Obviously, once eith moves, another run starts... I'd mention certain things. 1. Before you buy a coin, at least look at the chart. You dont want to be buying a coin that has done x4 in the past month. Like it or not, smart folks took position before it ran and are distributing theire bags to you. Always look at the chart of a coyn for at least the last month before getting into it 2. People get excited when a coyn pumps well and the mentions increase. That's when smart folks leave. Some will now buy for high prices and after it's not pumped for sometime, they leave and jump to another top. Case in point is DOT. Few weeks ago, most folks were asking about DOT because it's done x4 in a month. I said it here I was selling my dot bags into other coyns. I'm sure alot bought it and have been disappointed for the past weeks. I believe it's consolidating for the next move, either way, it may also be distributing... 3. Try and avoid buying anything that has done over 20% in a day... You should laern to snipe entries before they move. Before you buy a coin that has moved 25% in a day, ask yourself why didn't you buy it yesterday 4. When you buy and hold, you know when to exit the market. When my coin has done x4 in a month, nobody needs to tell me to look elsewhere. If I was jumping in and out, I wouldn't even know. 5. If you're buying a coin that everyone is talking about on social media, then youre simply doing adashe wey u no go pack. Use market sentiment to your profit and don't be the sentiment others are profiting from. A coin would usually get attention after it's moved heavily and folks are looking on who to distribute. Exceptions may be some obvious big names. 6. Timing is everything... Coyns move in tandem. I said over the weekend that since microcaps have pumped, focus is shifting to the large guns. I sold my uni which I bought for 5 early January at 19.5 and used it to add more eith and link. Same also for aave.. which had gone from 100 to 300... Though I still have some left. Understand how the market cycles and try and move b4 it does First, betece is king. If in doubt, go betece Coins I believe would rest for a while after a very strong run. They may still run, but better opportunities exist elsewhere. Aave Uni Coyns I believe would do well over the coming weeks. They have settled after a previous move up. ETH Link Ada Vet Ltc Algo Zil Atom Xlm That should do well but not typically strong coyns YFI Ren Sxp Can't say for now DOT- may move up or down. Up seems more likely Theta- it's moves are explosive and it runs for a very long time. Seems to be consolidating or distributing. Not in it Each of those coins could easily give x2 and some x3 from here if you're patient. And I'm talking about the next few weeks. Needless to say, those coyns were at the bus station over the weekend...they have began to leave Tip.. In these conditions, smaller caps usually perform better than large caps Tip: even if you want to day trade, split your portfolio in two ir have another account on a different exchange. Use one to day trade and the other to keep sensible projects. Over time, look at which is doing better and which works for you. |
kolagbemi:I'm sad about certain things. I've said it over snd over again. This bullrun wouldn't last forever. If you're losing money now, then you're doing alot of things very very wrong Crypt0 is not the way you see it. There are some weeks you don't even get 10%. It's the long run that always matters. I said it a few weeks back, day trading sounds sweet but it's very difficult. Learn the market first. What you're doing is practically giving your money to traders who bought low. Just a quick one. Check all the new guys here who have tried day trading these past weeks. How many of them have not made losses? To make money here, you have to try and outsmart the usual trader. In a bull market, even for an expert trader, the best strategy is to HOLD. I'd list some coins again in a post below |
Ojemedad:Hmmm... Truth is I have no idea... No one can say what the market will do next Said it here multiple times that in trading nothing is certain. We make decisions based on probabilities and risk. Moreover, nothing goes up in a straight line. There'd be pullbacks along the way. If it goes up to steeply, it sells off just like xrp or doge Fact is it can dump to 300 usd from here or it may continue upward. Based on technicals (explained below), the upside seens the more likely direction hence my advice. That said, it's unlikely to blast through 1400 in a dingle go. It'd take some time to resolve. But being the 4th attempt and the fact that its dipped less after subsequent previous attempts make me hedged more towards the upside. |
ApostleBlack:I'd advise you get eith where it is... It's taking on ATH for the 4th time... Likely it breaks and you'd be left chasing. considering the upside, the difference btw 1300 and 1400 isn't much and where eith is going, it wouldn't matter if you bought at 1300 or 1400 You could split it half way between link.... just that eith usually moves before link |
Sailor1:Turn by turn Eith, link, dot, ada have woken up.... EITH making its way to ATH for the 4th time... I believe it breaks it this time.. When it moves, it may suck the market ADA had crossed 0.4 Mk I go find targets... at least 50% from hereXLM beginning to move opposite from exrp.. good stuff exrp sliding further into oblivion... holding unto 0.36 by a thread.... annoying stuff... just ruined a sweet day p.s why can't these coyns pump one after the other make we dey follow them... If eith breaks ATH, it might outperform the rest in the immediate future cos it'd suck the market but once it settles, they'd catch up and do multiples... By next 2-3 weeks, microcaps will be doing another 100% again. The true alt boom will be upon us. I'm wondering what betece does in the midst of all this.. cos when it moves, it scatters the show again |
dareyking:Either one... I use bank transfer |
Ojemedad:The general consensus is that it's cheaper to use bank transfer |
Xrp moving... Let's see how far up it goes |
Comeandcollect:That's the mistake alot of folks make before reality hits them. I also made that mistake. It took me over a year in crypt0 b4 I understood that betece runs this market. One can trade only altys but it's good to understand the role or betece. Same way if you're trading altys and youre not monitoring eith, you're likely loosing money People see xrp at 0.3 and say oh it's cheap.. i can use the money for one betece to buy thousands of these.... Hehehe. In this space, the cost of a coyn does not matter. The performance and ROI is all that counts. It's not like plots of land. Name me one promising coyn that has existed since 2017 and I'd show you how it's performed against betece and you'd see. That same amount one is putting is altys can also be put in betece... alot of coyns have broken oyr of betece e.g BSV, BCH. They promised better implementation e.t.c... They're all dead now We're making this discussion because of the advent of stable coyns so folks can trade in and out of altys directly. In the past, folks traded altys into betece and their only function was to dump on others and accumulate more betece. Look at 2018 top 10 altys. Look at their cost then and compare it to their cost now. When institutions come in here, they go into betece. You want to be where new money is. Most are not buying everyday altys Xrp would likely still be cheap and maybe 0.4 usd in 4 years but I can tell you that in 4 years, betece would be at least double its current value |
lymelyte:Never say never... I also bought at 0.24. we're in this market to make profit not to hold for eternity This selling is persistent and should continue even tomorrow if buyers don't show up soon... The 0.36-0.4 level can can only hold for so long.... Fact is whales who dumped would look to accumulate again at prices below 0.3 and repeat the same proces... Before we have a proper reversal after such a dump, there'd be signs that buyers have stepped in which has been missing so far. Either way, I'd be looking for an exit on and pump in the near future |
Akinola2345:All things being equal, it should. It's held structure which is good Only thing of concern is the constant selling pressure on xrp.... It's only struggling to hold the 0.36-0.4 level.... Buyers don't seem interested... A break of that level would mean we're back in our old range... Not good I'd say |
AbdulJabbar1:Hehehe..... This space makes one understand human nature. As a fact, betece and eithy will outperform 99% of coyns in the long run... We all know that yet keep chasing shiny trash.... I keep saying to look at the chart of that coyn against eith... If it has not outdone it in the last year, why not trade eith instead... We're in a stage of the market where altys would do multiple of what eith has done... No wahala.. mk we enjoi... But we should remember that time will come when the chaff will be removed and progits of months wiped out in days... This market is brutal |
Comeandcollect:Hehe... I disagree with this in a way... Betece will likely remain the king for a while... Alot of things make it unique... More so, it's where new money goes into.... Making a coyn is not difficult... Getting the market behind it is all that matters. On a second thought, your comment makes me think betece is about taking the stage again. You wouldn't have said this a month ago. I remember telling someone that once people begin to talk down on betece and hype altys and also after microcaps have ran, betece traditionally takes the stage abd either pumps or dumps reminding everyone its King.... We're in an alty season (part of a cycle), but lets not be carried away... This market flows in cycle |
ModelX:Dude my simple advice is to get out of that stuff while you can before you see yourself at the bottom of the ocean and remain there throughout the bullrun.. Look at the doge chart nd see what it does... It pumps heavily, retraces all the way back, remains that way for months b4 moving again... In this market, b4 such coins pump, there has to be an accumulatory phase and no serious trader is interested in doge close to these prices. Folks bought at rock bottom and waited months to cash out at over 700%. Trust me, you don't want to be married to doge after such a pump...either way, I might be wrong |
dareyking:Use the withdrawal option |
