"You are one of a few Nigerians who had been blessed by Allah/God, even to a fault. You have been a General Officer Commanding, Military Governor, Federal Commissioner of NNPC, Head of State and C-in-C of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Chairman of PTF, just to mention a few. At the ripe age of 72, what do you want again from Allah/God? In 2011, ten youth coppers were among hundreds of innocent non-Hausa-Fulani/Kanuri Nigerians slaughtered by your supporters in Northern Nigeria even before INEC announced the results of the presidential election. As if that is not bloody and despicable enough, you have promised to soak non-Hausa-Fulani/Kanuri Nigerians whom you prefer to call ‘dogs and baboons’ in blood if you lose presidential election in 2015. But what’s next? You may be ‘untouchable,’ with millions of human robots (Almajiri supporters) at your command, to do whatever you like here on Earth, but note that one day, you will stand alone before your Creator for judgement."

2] "Baba we members of the opposition party the APC are appealing you to be our Navigator for the 2015". - APC leaders. 23/12/2013.

3] "We trust your judgement, Baba, please help us to select our Presidential candidate". - Tinubu and APC leaders - 10/10/2014.

PoliticsFayose Sacks Aides To Assembly Speaker, Deputy by saint047(op): 10:10am On Nov 19, 2014
The Ekiti State Government on Tuesday terminated the appointment of all aides to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Modupe Alade in Ado-Ekiti.
Those relieved of their appointment include Wole Olujobi, Special Adviser (SA) (Media), Ojobamikan Dele, SA (Political) and Lawrence Awelewa, SA (Special Duties) to the Speaker.
Also on the list are Wande Omirin, SA (Youth Matters), Orija Samuel, Chief of Staff, and Sanmi Adeeko, PA to the Speaker.
Others are Taiwo Oluwaleye, SA (Media) to the Deputy Speaker, and Adedipe Esther, SA (Media) to the Majority Leader.
The statement directed all the affected aides to hand over all government property in their possession to the Clerk of the House before the close of office on Tuesday.
In another development, the Ekiti state government denied claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that Ekiti state Speaker, Adewale Omirin had been impeached.
Governor Ayo Fayose’s Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi ,said in a statement that the legislature, by its rules, forms a quorum with nine members, “and 10 were at the sitting and not seven as the APC had claimed.”
“Fayose was never near the Assembly Complex and Nigerians should ask APC leaders why they are always the ones that are right and others are wrong.
“In the APC-controlled state of Edo, Gov. Adams Oshiomhole has shut down the assembly for many months now.
“APC lawmakers hold their meetings in the governor’s bedroom at Osadebay Avenue, GRA, Benin. Nothing is wrong with that as the PDP members have been shut out!
“In another APC state of Rivers, courts have been shut down for over a year.
“Gov. Rotimi Amaechi wanted to appoint his man as the Chief Judge of the state and nothing is still wrong with that’’, added the statement.
The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Lai Mohammed, had in a statement alleged that there had been attempts by seven PDP members in the House to impeach the Speaker.

CelebritiesRe: Governor Obiano's Wife Slaps Deputy Governor's Wife by saint047(m): 9:30am On Nov 19, 2014
CreativeWeb:
The wife of Anambra State Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs Ebere Jennifer Ukamaka Obiano has continued to bring odium to Anambra State Government.

Her latest display of the absurd was the slapping of the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Okeke.

Trouble started on Sunday the 16th of November, 2014, after the dedication of the child of the Anglican Bishop of Awka, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Ibezim at the cathedral of St. Faith, Awka. The wife of the deputy Governor complained to Dr. Alex Ekwueme as a mother of all on how Ebere Obiano does not carry her along in whatever she does. Desirous of brokering peace, Ekwueme's Wife, HE, Beatrice Ekwueme accounted Mrs Obiano and advised her on the need to carry everybody, especially the wife of the deputy Governor along.

At this point, Mrs Obiano flayed and claimed that the constitution recognizes her and not the Wife of the Deputy. Immediately her Deputy shouted back, she slapped her. It took the intervention of security men to prevent the duo from physical fight.

In the quarrel, the wife of the Deputy Governor told her that she cannot kill her as she killed her maid nor slap her as she usually slaps drivers.

As the exchange of foul words continued, Sir Victor Umeh took the deputy governor who was there away as he felt completely dejected.

Romance10 Reasons Why You Have Trust Issues In Your Relationship by saint047(op): 8:12pm On Nov 09, 2014
There are many reasons why you may doubt your partner
or have trust issues, but they usually fall under these 10
reasons.
1. You think your partner lies to you very often.
2. You think your partner lacks integrity. They’ve cheated
on someone in an earlier relationship / You’ve cheated on
someone and *knowing how easy it is to cheat* you
assume your partner may be cheating behind your back
too.
3. You don’t know much about your partner’s life and what
they do when you aren’t around.
4. You don’t know your lover’s friends and their inside
jokes which makes you feel insecure when they’re around.
5. Your partner is secretive. *locks their phone or deletes
their messages often*
6. You feel threatened by your lover’s friendship with
someone you don’t know well.
7. You’ve had bad experiences in love where an old lover
has betrayed your trust.
8. Your partner just doesn’t share details about their life
with you as much as you share yours with them.
9. Your partner gets furious when you intrude into their
private space without their permission.
10. Your lover flirts with others.

PoliticsCourt Dismisses Suit Seeking To Reinstate Nyako by saint047(op): 4:49pm On Nov 07, 2014
The hope of a former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, to return to office suffered a setback as a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday dismissed a suit seeking his reinstatement.

Justice Okon Abang who struck out the suit numbered FHC/L/CS/1180/14 for want of merit also awarded a cost of N70,000 against the applicant.

A Lagos-based lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, had on August 8, 2014, filed the suit.

Following the adoption of the report of a seven-man investigation panel, which indicted Nyako of 16 counts of gross misconduct, the ex-governor was dismissed on July 15, 2014 as the governor of Adamawa State by the state’s House of Assembly.

But the lawyer, who said he filed the suit in the interest of the public, had asked the court to declare as “unlawful, unconstitutional, illegal, null and void” the impeachment proceedings and the eventual removal of Nyako.

Giving judgement in the suit on Friday, Justice Abang held that the lawyer lacked the locus standi to institute the action, adding that the suit did not qualify as public interest suit.

Stating  that only Nyako had the right to challenge his own impeachment, the judge described Ogungbeje as a meddlesome interloper.

He said the applicant should have allowed Nyako to carry his own cross, rather than be  crying more than the bereaved.

Abang observed that the operative word in the preamble to the Fundamental Human Rights Enforcement Procedure Rules was “may” and not “shall” which implies that not all human rights enforcement cases could not be dismissed for lack of locus standi.

“My Lords, it is my considered reasoning that this suit is not a public interest litigation as alleged by the applicant. It is not an action instituted in the interest of the public.

“It is Nyako that will benefit from any favourable judgment, and not the public, and so this matter does not rank among public interest litigation.

“The applicant cannot cry more than the bereaved and he has no justifiable reason to file this suit because as at the time he filed it, it was not established before this court that Nyako was in detention or incapacitated.

“The applicant can also not depose to an affidavit in support of this application on behalf of Nyako who is alive. The facts deposed to by the applicant amount to documentary hearsay,” the judge held.

Justice Abang went on to discountenance  the service of the applicant’s processes on the respondents through the Adamawa State Government liaison office in Lagos on August 15, 2014, adding that the recipient was unknown.

PoliticsExperts Highlight Health Benefits Of Beer by saint047(op): 7:47pm On Nov 05, 2014
Speaking at the event held in Lagos on Tuesday, Professor Bankole Omotosho of the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, said beer could prevent diabetes; reduce stomach ulcer and cholesterol level when consumed moderately.

Omotoso regretted that religion and wrong perception had prevented many people from benefiting from the medical value in beer consumption, adding, “many people have never looked at beer beyond alcohol.” The university Don, however, warned against its abuse, advising men to restrict themselves to one to three bottles. The female folks due to their slower alcohol absorption rate, he said, should take less quantity.

Of responsible beer consumption, he continued, “To drink moderately is to drink within the limit set by your health, society and obligations to family and friends. Nobody wants to be a nuisance to the society.”

Omotoso traced the history of beer to about 400,000 years ago when Babylonian fathers-in-laws would supply the substance to their newly-married sons-in-laws, saying the rite was instituted in recognition of its (beer) health value. He argued that beer could not have had negative effects when its top four ingredients – barley, hops, water and yeast – have enormous health advantage.

Head of Food Technology, Bells University of Technology, Dr. Olu Malomo, dismissed the masculine myth about beer consumption. He argued that the first beer brewers could not have been women if it was exclusively men’s drink.

“While religious bigots kick against beer consumption, it is important to note that modern brewing started in monasteries,” he said, adding that the drink was a natural drink brewed from natural ingredients. Both men and female benefit from moderate beer consumption whereas African culture frowned at female consumers, he observed.

Malomo said the ability of sorghum, a beer ingredient, to reduce mortality and cardiovascular diseases has been clinically proved. According to him, beer also helps to flush out excess salt in human system.

The academic regretted that intake was still very low in Nigeria whereas South Africa’s consumption rate has exceeded 60 per cent. He, however, noted that the market, which was contracted by the economic downturn, had experienced considerable growth since 1999, a trend driven by innovation and market share expansion.

Tobore Akpodibi, a medical practitioner, said consumer’s lifestyle and attitude not beer, was responsible for ‘pot’ belly, which many people associate with alcohol.

He explained, “People who go to bed as soon as they finish drinking stand the chance of developing big tummy,” recalling how beer consumption came to his rescue when he was diagnosed to have a stone in the heart.

Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Breweries, Nicolaas Vervelde, said the company has contributed much to the country’s economic development and helping Nigerians to live healthy lifestyle but regretted the damage caused by negative perception.

Vervelde said responsible drinking and moderation was fundamental to harnessing beer benefit, and that the company has been at the forefront of promoting that.

But the participants said the company needed to do more to rev up campaign against irresponsible consumption. Safety experts who were at the programme said little has changed since the campaign against alcohol abuse commenced some years ago.

PoliticsFasheun Reveals Why OPC Won't Protect Tambuwal by saint047(op): 3:39pm On Nov 05, 2014
The leader of the Oodua People’s Congress,OPC, Dr. Fredrick Fasheun, has denied reports that the organisation is providing security for the embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, following the withdrawal of his security detail by the federal government.

According to statement released by the socio-cultural group on Tuesday, Fasheun stated that the OPC would not provide security for Tambuwal, because he had usurped the position originally zoned to the South-west.

He added that “OPC is a socio-cultural organisation dedicated to protecting and pushing the interest of the Yoruba people who dominate the South-West.

“Back in 2011, we told Tambuwal that he was a usurper of a seat reserved for the Yoruba, and asked him to vacate the position. But he refused. No way can we now extend any form of assistance to him.”

PoliticsWhy Tambuwal Dumped PDP by saint047(op): 11:04am On Nov 01, 2014
Since the speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal whose middle name simply means the’ Guardian of the Fate’ emerged the first among equals in the 7th Assembly on June 6, 2011, he had a game plan as to how to checkmate the onslaught of his party, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
His game plan finally came to bear last Tuesday when he red carded the party on whose back he clinched the speaker-ship of the House.
His reasoning was simple, since he was not the anointed candidate of his party and he knew the antics of PDP, he carefully waited for the dying days of the 7th Assembly to drop his masterstroke via his decampment to the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal,
In the first place, it was the APC that ensured he won. Hon Mulikat Akande-Adeola, the PDP preferred candidate for the office of the Speaker failed on June 6, 2011 House of Representatives election. APC lawmakers ensured his victory with the support of some PDP legislators.
There and then, Tambuwal knew where he should pledge his allegiance and this he covertly and overtly applied until last Tuesday.
He kept his friends and political acolytes on their toes as to where his allegiance lay all these while. He knew from day one that if  he faltered the fire works of the PDP would be too explosive for him to handle.
He knew what happened to his predecessors that dared PDP. They went into political oblivion and remained politically irrelevant. And he accommodated genuine fears that he would face the same music if he remained in PDP. Re-election was almost uncertain and his political future remained bleak with PDP. He decided to join APC on whose platform he could run for the office of governor of Sokoto State or run for re-election back to the House.
Tambuwal, on his own, became his own pathfinder which endeared him to the hearts of his fellow lawmakers who at a time saw him as one rare gem that has come to right the wrongs of the past.
His leadership style  was embedded in the doctrine of humility which was one rare ingredient that his predecessors could not exhibit as speakers.
He came on board with a populist 7 point -Agenda designed primarily to keep the  House 100percent independent from all forms of incursions from the executive arm of government.
To a large extent this was achieved in the first two years of his administration as lawmakers  spoke in one voice until 2013 when the New PDP emerged following the break up of the Governors Forum.
This singular development that almost tore PDP into shreds affected the comradeship among members who, hitherto, enjoyed peace and oneness since inception.
The House he had toiled to construct day and night now became divided.
Tambuwal, at this stage, employed many intrigues but the damage had been done. He had to  prepare himself for the last card on his table which is his movement from PDP to APC.
His major challenges:
Tambuwal could not execute his pet project which was the 7-point Legislative Agenda to the letter. He recorded at least 70 percent success.
He had wanted to make Nigeria’s Green Chamber the first African e- Parliament compliant. Though work on this is at an advanced stage, this dream may not be accomplished before he leaves.
Secondly, his fervent desire to  carry along his 359 colleagues despite paucity of  funds was a major setback to him.
It is on record that Tambuwal knows every member by their  first name and the constituencies they represent. A very rare gift.
Thirdly, his penchant for good legislation to make Nigeria a better place for all is never in doubt.
Implication of his defection
The House has less than two months to execute serious legislative business as the month of December is always work free. The lawmakers may seat for only six days.
January 2015, lawmakers would be in the battle field trying to see how they can return to the House.
February is the month of election so there will be no legislative business.
By March the results of the election must have had their toll and casualties of the election would have been known.
April, there will be little legislative action on the floor of the House.
By May the politics of who emerges the new speaker  peaks.
By June 5, the 7th Assembly will be rested and the 8th Assembly emerges.
The effect of his defection may lead the House into a war zone. But one thing is certain, the PDP needs at least a dozen cranes and a 100 buldozers to buldoze Tambuwal out of office.
As it is now, the PDP has 195 active lawmakers while the APC has 159 leaving the remaining 6 that could pitch their tents  where it suits them.
PDP does not have the 2/3 majority to unseat Tambuwal which is a mandatory constitutional provision. PDP needs 240 lawmakers to shove Tambuwal aside.
Tambuwal’s trump card
After the PDP primaries, the lawmakers who failed to win will solidly stand by Tambuwal making the House an entirely APC House.
This development could make the 2015 Budget suffer an unprecedented setback, causing more problems for the PDP led government.
Tambuwal has an unequaled track record of being the only lawmaker that has gone to the House for three terms and was appointed a principal officer.
In 2003-2007 he was deputy minority under ANPP. 2007-2011 he was deputy majority whip. In 2011 he emerged speaker.
This his experience will come to bear and may further rubbish whatever impeachment plan in the offing for him.
Tail or head Tambuwal is on both sides of the coin. He may complete his  tenure as speaker.

PoliticsAre Igbos Really Foolish? by saint047(op): 1:24pm On Oct 31, 2014
Dr Junaid Mohammed,a member of the House of Representatives in the Second Republic and currently coordinates the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen. He treats other zones of Nigeria with little respect, and obviously cannot hide his hatred and disregard for Ndigbo of the South East Nigeria.
In the Punch Newspaper of September 12, 2014, he described the just concluded National Confab as a waste of time, and that it achieved nothing, and argued that the agenda of the different regions of the South failed.
According to him: Those who wanted to use the result of the conference for their own political good, like Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party have failed woefully; the Igbo wanted to use the conference to achieve their demented agenda of equality or parity between the North-West and the South-East.
In his words: “If you are to use a serious map that is scientifically based, to show respective areas where you show the North-West as the palm of a hand, the South-East will only be a dot”.
Continuing, he said: The South-South request for resource control also failed; the recommendations of the Confab would not scale through the National Assembly that has Northerners in the majority; any of the presidential candidates in 2015 election who commits to maintaining the current revenue allocation formula would not win; anybody who commits himself to maintain the preponderance of the Igbo in all our financial agencies, ministries and department will also not win the next election; Goodluck Jonathan has already started boasting that he has given the Igbo more than anybody in the past, for that alone he will not win the next election. If he rigs it, there will be mayhem.
Dr. Mohammed has said it all; he should be held responsible for any bloodshed after the 2015 elections. He must be coming from a school of thought that believes Northern Nigeria must always produce the President and the heads of all Federal Government ministries and agencies in Nigeria. No wonder Northerners are swarming the NNPC through which they milk Nigeria as their inheritance as given to them by Great Britain and exposed byAliyu Gwarzo. In their wisdom, their tribe is meant to reap where they have sown nothing, while denying the actual owners of the oil any benefits with the vehemence of a suicide bomber! They cannot stand women in powerful positions as we have them now.
For the likes of Dr. Mohammed and his brother Murtala Nyako, GEJ is an Igbo man; how unfortunate!
A great beneficiary of the years of Northern rule of Nigeria, Dr Mohammed needs our sympathy and understanding because the tide in the affairs of Nigeria has continued to change as ordained by God who created the heaven and the earth. The refusal of any mortal to accept the will of this sovereign God over this nation is rebellion against God, and the consequences include destruction. God will judge that, and He does not fail.
Dr. Junaid Mohammed was reported recently as calling Igbos selfish and shameless in an interview published on the Hope for Nigeria website. I do not blame him. He is saying it as he sees the Igbo man. There are reasons to think that the Igbo man is selfish and foolish, I mean very foolish! After all, an Igbo Proverb, says that the madman knows what he does, but may not know why he does those things. Dr. Junaid may not know why he is saying the things he said, as a matter fact.
Let us face it, here is a people who were massacred in the North of Nigeria in 1966.They were killed in hundreds of thousands which culminated in a three years civil war.
What did the Igbos do right after the war? They quickly ran back to the same spots where they were killed in 1966 and re-established businesses in a bid to survive the hunger from the war.
They remained in those states, built houses, estates, hotels, and expanded the economy of their erstwhile killers! Some have children born in such places who can’t speak Igbo language! Is it wise to think that your enemy will love you because you came back to make money? No man will hate your father and turn round to love you! Igbos know this too well, but refuse to change, it is shocking!I was in the war, as a young boy, in the Biafra Organisation of Freedom Fighters,BOFF.
We were told then, that one way the Nigerian soldiers confirmed that an Igbo soldier was really dead was to shake a few coins noisily in his ears. If he did not move, then he is dead! This captured the greed or selfishness of an average Igbo man as perceived by Nigerians. This wrong notion may have accounted for the different attitude of some of us; the products of that training to money. We see money as the reason Igbos are insulted by every fool in Nigeria!
Since after that war, Igbos have succeeded most in working against themselves. First was the Onitsha sea port which the then Alhaji Shehu Shagari government wanted to build for Igbos, but ended up building that small canoe jetty in the name of seaport at Onitsha. Igbo sons were part of the deceit at that time, and it remains a scar on the conscience of those who betrayed their land by refusing to use that opportunity to give Igbo land a sea port.
When you demand for a seaport in Igbo land today, the Northern interests would get an Igbo professional to tell you that it cannot be done, forgetting that the United Arab Emirates built one of the biggest seaports in modern world today, in the desert! If these Igbo professionals that are being used are not fools, what will you call them? We know them, yet we clap when they vomit upon us!
WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THIS?

PoliticsTambuwal Leads Lawmakers To APC Mini-convention by saint047(op): 7:10pm On Oct 29, 2014
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, on Wednesday led more than 50 members of the house to the APC mini convention in Abuja.

The speaker was given a standing ovation ‎before taking his seat at the VIP stand.

On sighting Tambuwal, delegates who sat according to their states at different stands, rose ‎to applaud his entry into the pavilion.

Tambuwal defected from PDP to the APC on Tuesday in Abuja.

There was, however, a free for all at the Abia stand as two factions of the party clashed.

NAN reported that chairs, bottles and charms were thrown and used as weapons during the confusion.

Two men, who were severely injured, were taken to the hospital.

Security agents were not left out as a policeman also had some bruises on his body.

Armed policemen, however, later restored order at the convention.

PoliticsZambian President ‘king Cobra’ Dies In UK by saint047(op): 11:20am On Oct 29, 2014
Zambian President Michael Sata, who was nicknamed “King Cobra” for his fiery tongue and larger-than-life personality, has died, the country’s national radio said Wednesday morning.

He was 77.

Officials did not disclose a cause of death. But Sata had traveled to London for unspecified medical treatment last week.

He died in a hospital there Tuesday evening, the government-owned Zambia Daily Mail said.

Sata took office in September 2011 after the incumbent President tearfully conceded in a televised speech, a rare moment in a continent known for volatile elections and leaders fighting their defeat tooth-and-nail.

Analysts hailed his election as an example of an African nation with a vibrant democracy. But not too long after he took office, speculation swirled over his lack of visibility — which especially stood out for a man who loves the spotlight.

Aides said his absence was a result of private international visits, and maintained those trips had nothing to do with medical treatment.

The nation’s bloggers have frequently criticized what they describe as “absence of leadership,” leading him to make a surprise appearance in parliament last month and declare that he was not dead.

Sata was born in the Zambian town of Mpika in 1936, and worked as police officer during the colonial administration. He later trained as a pilot in Russia before returning home and helping develop housing projects in the nation.

During Zambia’s struggle for independence from Britain, he jumped into politics, and later founded the Patriotic Front — then an opposition party. His campaign events electrified crowds drawn to his extroverted nature and fight for the average man.

Sata, who narrowly lost to his predecessor Rupiah Banda in 2008, was a major critic of Chinese investment in the nation’s copper industry. He especially targeted foreign companies that mistreat Zambian workers, making him popular among the nation’s miners who accused the Chinese of deplorable work conditions.

While in office, he warned foreign companies that while their investment is crucial to his nation, they must abide by the labor laws.

The veteran politician has served in other positions, including city council, member of parliament and cabinet minister for local government.

Before his election, the tiny, copper-rich nation in southern Africa had been ruled by the same party for decades.source:http://www.punchng.com/news/zambian-president-dies-in-uk/
