You've done well but the only problem is the location he is seeking the job. In Aba there are very few opportunities, why not advice him to look at relocating to somewhere else (e.g Lagos, Ogun..etc) in search of opportunities. That in my opinion would ease the depression.

I always have passion for software development and am managing with a Hub in Abuja taking 45k, I relocated my family and not up-to 3months to Abuja with this pending when a better offer comes, hubby is a very understanding type and knows wifey is a career person. Now, Dangote Academy GETS (graduate Engineers Training scheme) gave me an offer 80k monthly at obajana kogi State. Is it worth taking the offer? Or I should be positive and remain in Abuja considering my family, who knows the kind of experience or skills I would get from the Dangote academy GETS? I want to weigh and compare both. Help me pls. Considering job security I'll say don't accept the Dangote offer. Stick with the 45k job in Abuja and hope they'll improve upon it with a raise or start looking for better opportunities within your current location.

Who says you can't find better paying jobs in the field of your passion. Perhaps you've not been seriously looking for better options. I believe there should be better offers around your current location. Just intensify your search and you'll find them.

Don't go for the GETS option that will take you away from your family and still may not guarantee what you're looking for in a Career.

What is wrong with you Young Man?...you had better complete that training with POISE. It's not just like a scholarship thing...it is actually a comprehensive training scholarship paid for by OXFAM NOVIB (If I'm actually correct) for graduates like you who are either unemployed or want to become self employed through entrepreneurship as well as enable you become job fit for the labour market. The problem you have is that you don't even know how to spot opportunities and yet tomorrow you'll be among those coming onto NL to wail about the government being unable to provide jobs for its teeming unemployed.

Now...you have that opportunity to learn some of the dynamics which I believe includes among other things; how to sell & market products (something you already claim you lack for the insurance job). I guess after reading this, you should already have decided for the best.


PS: One last thing... Please desist from the bad habit of writing in illegible shorthand/short text form(social media has nothing to do with it and more so it actually dulls the brain) and write legibly. You're a graduate for crying out loud!

Oh....i wasn't online to respond quickly to this. But it wasn't bad i think, you just have to prepare yourself for all those normal and basic interview questions and you should feel confident. But i'm guessing it's for a marketing role though!
