Over the next few weeks, months even, I might be looking more closely at people's activities on this forum to identify a young-ish person to initially work with me as a sort of 'Gopher' in Nigeria - providing the local presence for an international undertaking.
It will initially be a part-time role, calling on X amount of your hours a month on a retainer basis, with expenses also paid, but there is the promise of arbsortion into the organization when the local business develops.
* THIS IS NOT A JOB ADVERT, I AM NOT INVITING APPLICATIONS *
It is a personal marker I'm placing here to return to in future when/if I eventually select the person and he/she accepts. I can then provide some information on the whys and hows of the experiment largely for information purposes. As such, I won't visit this thread again until that time.
If you best fit my criteria, I'll be sure to find you and let you know what the deal is.

Vince77: Please what's the best and fastest way to grow followers on social media? There is no shortcut and easy way to grow followers on social media. Even as we speak, the algorithmic changes on the various social platforms are making it more and more difficult to grow organically. In other words, organic growth is dead on social media. But if you want it fast and easy, your best bet is to engage in social media marketing otherwise known as social media advertising. But then what's your game plan. You'll need a strategy for attracting your target audience and this depends on the viability of your content plan, engagement levels, social provability, etc. Don't let anyone deceive you with any abracadabra nonsense of growing automatically on social media. Even if it works for a while, it certainly won't last. |

Immaculatesnow: dude if you need or want to work with a good social media you have to look at these things before paying someone like me for example
1) i have over 1500 subscribers on youtube, over half a million views and 12000 hours watched content
2) i have over 1200 usa followers on facebook, over 40 groups on facebook with over 1 million followers combined
3) i have close 1000 followers on twitter
4) over 200 followers on soundcloud
5) finally my social engagement is pretty high for a newbie
so for a brand to pay me to manager all their social network platform and grow it and mine cost me 50k monthly to run between internet data 15k and government electricity 35k total of 50k, that brand has to pay me a minimum of 120,000 naira monthly for me to work effectively for them and for a long time. This dude is just a noise maker. I doubt it if he actually knows what proper social media management entails. You think its just about amassing and engaging followers(which be the way are largely inorganic) using all those voodoo techniques you guys use. Anyone can do that! Have you ever sat your ass down to plan content? Analyse who your followers actually are or why they follow your brand? Built a customer profile or user persona for a product page? etc...,please with all you have said...you're the last person I'll even consider employing as a social media manager. (Just check out the many typos in your words to begin with...is that how you'll be managing people's account all riddled with typos?) You're only as good as a social media influencer (nothing else) and that even depends on the brand/product. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: The Salary Of A Social Media Manager. by SaintChukz(m): 8:48am On Mar 31, 2018 |
nex: I started Social Media Marketing (which included Management) around 2010 and my first fee was N50k a month. We were very few back then. Real Social Media Management is very hard work, especially back then when it included creating content. Now there are outfits which create Social Media content for about N200k per month.
I think a fair price for a fulltime employee as a Social Media Manager at entry level should be about N150,000 per month. For a freelancer, it depends on your skill level. For a hustler, you can take between N70,000 to N100,000. For a maestro you can charge as much as N350,000 per month with the assurance that you can grow engagement, community, and sales by a decent percentage. Also, if you're charging up to N350k a month, you must be able to show previous success stories, and guarantee that you can handle any unforseen online crisis which may come up 247, and you must be someone a brand can trust not to pull the kind of stunt someone pulled on the First Bank account on Twitter.
Social Media Management is really hard work. You must be on the watch round the clock, because you never know what could go wrong. Anyone can attack a brand at any time online. The brand can even mess up itself offline, and it would come online to bite you. Finally, you must be above mistakes. Spelling errors, grammar errors, then the greatest nightmare of all, posting content for your personal account on a client's account by mistake. . Although some brands have a separate role for a Social Media Advertiser, but if the Social Media Manager is also the one running ADs, then you have to be extra watchful. Setting up the wrong kind of AD, wrong AD goals, or not capping your prices properly could cost you a whole lot.
The job is very stressful, especially with a client who pays very little. Such clients use a strategy of always calling and harassing the Social Media Consultant, to ensure they maximise their N30k. Then again, there are those who like to owe for months. Beware of the debtors if you're a freelancer. A brand I ran campaigns for in the middle of 2014 when $1 was N160 paid me around the middle of 2015 when $1 had become more than N250...and they paid me at N160 to the dollar. In fact, that was the last brand I managed on Social Media.
I stopped being a Social Media Manager around 2014, but a brand is planning to pull me back in with a decent offer. I may just come back to this thread and pick one of you who says N50k per month is good, then I'll sit back and supervise.
These days, I'm more of an influencer (I hate to use that word). I talk about good brands, products, personalities, events, music, and policies online, with the intent of creating engagement, and swaying opinions, or at least encouraging a trial. It's far better that way because I know most of the money I'm paid is mine. I can speak in my own language and tone using my own handles or accounts. Thank you. You're the only one who made a very valuable contribution to this topic. |

mayo47: There's a new trend in the Labour market, I just want to give this advice. Most companies now merge Social Media roles & Graphics designer role. So if you intend pursuing Social Media as a career go learn graphics design to be relevant in future This is absolutely untrue. Social media is a full blown career that entails a whole lot on its own - it cuts across different specialties - social media(analyst, content writer, manager, etc). For graphics design - it is equally an extensive field as well (other than the usual manipulation of visual tools e.g adobe, visio, we also have expert designers who are UX, UI or just Interface designers at best). Just how much of all these do you think you need to learn to become a top professional social media person or a very good designer? So stating that you'll need to learn graphics design to be relevant as a social media specialist in future is not entirely true. PS: You may as well need to learn what I think will prove most critical to a social media career person which is - Data analytics (The ability of using data to generate insights that can help you make/take well informed decisions on behalf of the organisation you're working for) |

Romance › Re: Does The Rich Always Marry The Rich? - Solomon Buchi Bartholomew by SaintChukz(m): 7:32pm On Mar 25, 2018 |
MRPOSSIBLE11: A few days ago, Fatima Dangote and Abubakar Jamil got married. The bride is the daughter of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, while the groom is a pilot and the son of former Inspector-General of police, Mohammed Abubakar.
The wedding was attended by those who matter around the world including Bill Gates.
I have seen lots of analysis from social media commentators about how unrealistic the Nigerian movie industry has portrayed love being void of class; of how a wealthy man will go to the village and pick a local girl for marriage.
Does the rich always marry the rich? Here’s it: Firstly, we have to understand that attraction happens in the midst of many similarities. You’re more probable to get attracted to someone who has something in common with you.
But, sometimes it won’t be money. It could be some other virtues. That’s why if you’re broke, it’s advisable you have any of these qualities.
Intelligence And Talent. Physical Beauty. Financial Capacity. If you lack financial capacity, do well to be equipped intellectually. If you lack the both, well, make sure you are handsome. All three abilities are the major pillars of attraction.
The reason a lot of rich people don’t marry someone ‘poor’ folks isn’t always because they are ‘poor’, but because they have nothing exceptional. Yes.
In fact, I think it doesn’t take much of financial capacity to impress a rich person because they have it; they might not be in the relentless pursuit of anyone’s financial ability.
They just want exceptionality. Confidence.
One reason we all should discover our peculiarity and build on it, not just to attract our customers, but also as a social advantage too, because the more developed you are, the more you’re attractiveness goes high.
Recently as I have been learning how to play the guitar, I do carry it around most times, and I’ve had like four strangers strike a conversation with me because they saw me with a guitar and assumed I could play.
Every ability gives a social advantage and prestige.
You are broke. Fine. What can you do well?
Money isn’t only the socially prestigious tool of attraction.
I’m not downplaying financial class, but if you find yourself in a meeting with Bill Gates’ daughter, or a renowned and wealthy man’s daughter, will you stay all cold because you ain’t as rich as they are?
We all have our area of wealth.
I have seen very much wealthy ladies date very broke exceptional men just because they were different, and yes, talented. They met them and immediately observed something exceptional about them.
See, the problem is not that Bill Gates’ daughter cannot love you, but how to attract her. Attraction precedes love. Human love doesn’t sprout from anywhere.
Can one be proud of you publicly?
This is one way to ascertain your level of personal development. Fine, we are broke. Though I am also broke, I think some rich girls do admire me.
Influential and wealthy people don’t just want wealthy people too, they can build you up financially, they want someone who can rep. You can do stuff, talk, write, sing, just doing some exceptionally and with a standard.
Don’t be broke and lack everything else. If you talk to me you won’t even recognise I’m broke because my exceptional mind will captivate you for so long. Lol. People don’t want to look at you and see all the flaws. Have something that can shine away from your weaknesses.
You cannot be broke in the pocket. Broke in your mind. Also, be broke in your head. Broke in your face. And Finally be broke in your body. Hian!
CONCLUSION Finally, stop dreaming to marry a rich person. Just be a rich person.
