Politics / Prof Dora Is Desperate And Impossible . by saintiyke(m): 9:34am On Apr 14, 2011
After watching Prof. Dora Akuyili of the APGA party and Dr Chris Ngige of ACN  defend themselves on channels tv on the allegations on bribery  and kidnapping on the returning officer of Anambra Central senatorial district. I can authoritatively tell u that Dora is desperate and is impossible. The woman left the question she was asked and started pouring viturperations on the APGA candidate she literary blackmailed, insulted and condemned Dr chris Ngige stating that the APGA candidate is ritualist, that he (Chris Ngige ) paid the dowry of a  dead woman and danced naked in a shrine.

Romance / Why This Sudden Spacing by saintiyke(m): 11:31am On Sep 25, 2010
Isn’t it a known fact that there exists a cohesive force of attraction between the man and the woman? I have seen a lot of folks who would do anything just to have his girlfriend sleep in his house .i have also seen women who have abandon their houses to their boyfriend’s house. I want state that these categories of people experienced this urge for co-habitation just before marriage.
What amazes me is how these young lovers that have once longed for conjugality will suddenly began to notice that they both need space.
A friend of mine who before he married, told me of how he was getting ready to bring his damsel home. He would do all manner of things just to lure his fiancée into spending the weekend in his house. Four years after their marriage and he had finished building his house and decided he was going to occupy a room different from his wife’s.
I know this question “would you live in the same room with your wife” has been asked in this forum before now.
But I want to know to know particularly from married folks, why the need for space after marriage.
1. Doesn’t it depict incompatibility?
2. Doesn’t it weaken the bond between the couples?
When I visited my uncle who is a barrister and the wife-a medical consultant, both were once living together, I was surprised when i discovered that they now live in separate rooms. At first I taught I was an ego thing, but I later realized I was wrong. My question is, why the sudden need for space between married couples.

JONATHAN 4 PRESIDENT 2011 is the next chorus. Our northern brothers are seriously having series of meetings on who becomes the next president. My question is. What could yar'adua have achieved if he had'nt dead? What difference will jonathan make? Do you think Nigeria is in any way developing? Wheather Good luck, Ribadu, sambo or whoever. Politics / Anxiety In The House As Jonathan Shift Fec Meeting by saintiyke(m): 10:02pm On Mar 09, 2010
Anxiety in cabinet as
Jonathan shifts FEC. meeting
by four hours. There was anxiety
yesterday among Ministers
following a curious notice
from the Acting President, Dr.
Goodluck Jonathan,shifting
tomorrow’s meeting of the
Federal Executive Council
forward by four hours.
Investigation by The Nation
revealed that the notice
which came from the
Secretary to the Government
of the Federation, Alhaji
Mahmud Yayale Ahmed was
dated March 8. According to
findings, the notice indicated
that the meeting which ought
to start by 10am would now
hold by 2pm .
It was learnt that the shift is
occasioned by some high-
level meetings that would
precede the FEC session.
But Yayale was not
forthcoming on the nature of
the high-level meetings that
would delay the meeting.
A highly-placed source said:
"The meeting of FEC for this
week (Wednesday, March 10,
2010) has been moved to
2pm from the usual 10am.
"The reason is due to the
high-level meetings by the
Acting President expected to
hold in the morning of that
day.
"Most of us have been eager
to know the crucial meetings
that might shift the FEC
session forward.
"We learnt that the outcome
of the high-level meetings
might be an issue before the
Executive Council.
"Whatever is the
development, we will know on
Wednesday."
It was gathered that the shift
notice has made Ministers to
become jittery following
rumours on alleged plans to
swap their portfolios for
better service delivery.
It was learnt that the target-
inclined Ministries that
Jonathan might pay attention
to are Power, Works,
Petroleum Resources, Niger
Delta Affairs, Aviation,
Agriculture and Water
Resources, FCT, Finance,
Health, Police and Defence,
and Education.
It was learnt that the need to
take stock before swapping
Ministers accounted for the
inauguration of 18-man
Presidential Projects
Assessment Committee.
Although some loyalists of
President Umaru Yar’Adua
holding juicy portfolios are
alleging that the Project
Assessment Exercise has
political undertone, a highly-
placed source added that the
Acting President meant well
to ensure judicious use of
resources.
A Minister, who confirmed
receipt of the notice from the
SGF, said: "It is unusual but it
is better than getting to the
Council Chamber by 10am and
be in suspense for hours.
" I won’t go into the realm of
assumption but I think the
Acting President’s schedule
is a bit tight for that day. Let
us wait and see."
Another cabinet source said:
"I found the shift curious but
I think the notice is a normal
administrative procedure."
Phones / Glo Sues Ncc, Mtn Over Interconnect Dispute by saintiyke(m): 7:47am On Jan 14, 2010
LAGOS—Second national telecommunication carrier, Globacom Limited has dragged the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, and MTN before a Federal High Court, Lagos, alleging unfair treatment in the way and manner the regulatory agency handled the interconnection agreement dispute between them.

Globacom and MTN were said to have entered into an agreement in 2003 and under clause 6.5 of the agreement, it was agreed that no party shall invoice for a call later than 60 days after the actual call date.

According to the suit before Justice Lambo Akanbi, Globacom is alleging that MTN, in clear violation of the clause, made a claim of over N1 billion allegedly being unpaid supplementary invoices issued by MTN to Globacom.

NCC was said to have constituted an arbitral panel to look into the dispute, which eventually directed Globacom to pay MTN the sum of N856 million both as supplementary invoices for calls terminated on MTN’s network by Globacom and sum admitted.

The panel also directed Globacom to pay the sum within 30 days of the ruling, failure of which the sum would accrue interest until liquidation.

But Globacom is praying the court to quash the decision of the Arbitral panel of the NCC, insisting that the ruling was a grave miscarriage of justice in that the panel failed to make specific findings on controversy isues between the parties.

The company also wants the court to restrain NCC and MTN from enforcing the ruling, adding that the panel made decisions on issues not submitted to it and that fair hearing and the rules of natural justice were not followed in the entire proceedings.

Globacom is also contending that the panel failed to furnish it with the records of proceedings and exhibited bias against it in favour of MTN.

However, MTN and NCC have filed separate preliminary objections challenging the suit, praying the court to strike out the suit on the ground that the court lacked jurisdiction to adjudicate on the matter, having been filed in gross abuse of court process.

The defendants want in the alternative, the court to refer the matter to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court for onward transmission of the case to the Abuja division of the court for hearing and determination, contending that prior to the suit, MTN had earlier filed a suit against Globacom at the Abuja division of the court seeking to enforce the ruling of the Arbitral panel constituted by the NCC.

At the resumed hearing in the matter, parties informed the court of the processes filed so far, while the court said it would be neater and better to hear the preliminary objections of MTN and NCC together, while further hearing was adjourned till February 3.
Politics / Re: Why Jonathan Cannot Be Acting President, By Ogbulafor by saintiyke(m): 6:58am On Jan 14, 2010
who makes law in this country? PDP or the judiciary? grin
Politics / Why Jonathan Cannot Be Acting President, By Ogbulafor by saintiyke(m): 6:56am On Jan 14, 2010
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday replied the opposition who staged a rally in Abuja on Tuesday, demanding, among others, that Vice President Goodluck Jonathan be made acting president pending President Umaru Yar’Adua’s return.

PDP National Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, said in Abuja that Jonathan has "proved that he is good enough to be acting president" but that would not happen because the party is praying and believing that Yar’Adua will soon recover and return to his job.

He berated Prof Wole Soyinka and others who staged the Abuja rally, demanding that urgent action be taken to fill the "power vacuum" occasioned by Yar’Adua’s absence. Ogbulafor said PDP is worried about "politicians who do not know when to draw the line between mere politicking and the larger national interest".

Ogbulafor said: "The opposition cannot set an agenda for us. And, second, the President left here and I don’t think when he left here he intended that he will not return to the country by now. You are a human being. You can fall sick anytime ,

"All we have to do is to pray for the sick man to quickly recover".

On why Yar’Adua should address Nigerians through the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Ogbulafor said: "Whether the President addressed us in Hausa or whichever language, Hausa language is a Nigerian language. If you can speak Igbo and address us in Igbo, why not?"

On why the supplementary appropriation bill was taken to Jeddah for the President’s signature since he claimed that there is no power vacuum, Ogbulafor said: "On the supplementary budget, since the President was strong enough to sign the budget it is okay to send it to him wherever he is to sign it. What we know is that the budget has been signed."

Accusing some politicians of exaggerating the President’s health condition, Ogbulafor said:

"The President’s interview on the BBC yesterday (Tuesday) has finally put the lie to the malicious, baseless and devious rumours orchestrated by those who do not wish Nigeria well.

"It is in the light of this that we find yesterday’s (Tuesday’s) road show by some politicians and some members of the civil society unnecessary, shameful, and completely out of tune with the national mood. It is clearly an insensitive display of lack of respect for our institutions, our leaders and a debasement of our common humanity."

He commended members of the National Assembly for their "unrelenting crucial roles", adding that what the nation demands from every Nigerian is "unmitigated patriotism, maturity and restraint".

Jonathan can perform Presidential duties, says court
Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan today received the go ahead of a court to perform Presidential functions.
A federal High court sitting in Abuja held that Jonathan could perform such duties absence of President Umaru Yar'Adua.
The court was ruling on a case brought by a lawyer, Christopher Onwuekwe, over the President's long absence from home without handing over to Jonathan.
The plaintiff claimed that the only way out is to empower Jonathan to exercise Presidential powers until Yar'Adua's return.
