Hello Unibadan,

Your visa duration is always equal to the duration of your studues , some are lucky to get extra few months after their studies "2 or 3 months".

Mind u 2 academic years is not equal to 2 calendar years. That's y peeps gets extra few months after their studies.

unibadan:
hello my people

For those that have received their visa and going for 2 years master degree/diploma degree, is the expiry date on the visa exactly number of years your study is or otherwise

This is urgent pls.

Thank you.

Hello check,

Is not a must but u can always upload it in the optional section for additional document.

Submit whatever u can submit to support ur app.

Refer to study permit checklist for reference.....

[qquote author=checkyink post=29668637]Pls paper routers, do we have to fill the study permit questionnaire? Its not on the official CIC page. Moreover I have a well-detailed SOP already. Is the questionnaire a must ?
Like I said earlier, let him write a letter of support stating y he's sponsoring you. U guys shld agree on what to write as reasons for sponsoring u. You too CLd put up few write ups in your letter of intent buttressing y he's sponsoring u.

U just have to use whatever u have, words , facts or figures to convince d VO.

Estien:

Thanks for your reply.

I believe age and location shouldn't be a problem but my concern is providing evidence Of or relationship. We haven't taken any pictures together before. Can written words be a tangible evidence of relationship or perhaps a sworn affidavit... I am just clueless about this.

Thanks again
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by saintmentor: 12:21pm On Jan 10, 2015
Hello Estien,

Firstly, I wld say where he resides and his age is not a sensitive factor.

Secondly, to come up with a strong argument when using ur friend as a sponsor,

You shld See yourself as the visa officer.
Ask y your friend is sponsoring u(y wld a friend spend so much on u?).
Show proof of strong ties or relationship with ur friend.

Examples.
uve been of help to him when he's needy(paying back)
Your family has been of help to him in time past(He has lived with u guys).
Or you both wanna setup a company together in future and he's sponsoring u to equip you with the necessary knowledge.

U can add pictures u both featured etc.

Your friend shld write u a letter of support as well explaining y he's sponsoring you(whatever reasons u agreed on) your stories must tally.

Estien:
Hello house, please kindly advice:
Can I use a friend (he lives in the US) as sponsor who is just 2 years older than I am? In this case, how do I show prof of relationship with my sponsor friend?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by saintmentor: 7:58am On Jan 10, 2015
Hello Buccattee,

U can invite your spouse as soon as you're stable and cld show u and your spouse have sufficient funds for support. No specific time frame.

Buccattee:
Hello Guys, Please After Landing in Canada on a study permit visa, how soon can someone invite his /her spouse for a visit? Someone said at least after spending first 6 months in Canada. I don't know how true that is
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by saintmentor: 5:09am On Jan 10, 2015
Hello,

In addition to what Jaylinaa said, if u can't get a letter from ur coy for job security reasons, u can use your employment letter and ur recent pay slips. To buttress ur point u have to clarify in ur letter of intent that after ur studies u intend to return back to ur job even though you're not sincere/may not return...lol....

That's enough to show ties with ur home country.

jaylinaaa:
Hello Valeriann,

Who says you compulsorily need a study leave letter? While it is good to include that letter as it will serve as a proof of ties in home country, it is not compulsory or cast-in-stone. An employment letter, confirmation letter, payslips are very good alternatives. If you have the letter, go for it. If not, don't stress it.

All the best.

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by saintmentor: 4:57am On Jan 10, 2015
Firstly, well u can use your friend as a sponsor as long as u can prove y he's sponsoring you.

Secondly, it doesn't matter if u pull out ur money after ur salary is been paid. What matter is your ability to show that u have enough financial support and u can as well support yourself.

Thirdly, I always advice that applicants shld submit their SOA in addition to the sponsor's SOA, if ure using your account.......u can just get a fund anywhere and put it in ur account ,print off your statement...just to show u also have personal support.

Moheat:
Hello e-fam,
I am currently processing an application to study in Humber College, I intend using a friends company as my sponsor but my concern is, I am gainfully employed in another organization. If I have to go by my own salary account, I doubt if they would give me VISA because immediately my salary is paid I withdraw the money to take care of my needs.

My question is, if I should submit my friend's SOA, won't they ask question in respect of that?

fortunexx: Hey guys, thanks for the good work on this forum.please i need your help.do anyone know anybody skooling in ucalgary. i have a CGPA of 3.57 in civil engineering i want to apply for masters in chemical and petroleum engineering. i need advice on how to get a successful application cos my first application wasnt successfull due to wrong information.please i need your advise.

hello fortunexx, firstly u did civil and want to take master in chemical nd pet eng, the truth is u will be required to take PGD initially or take some upgrade courses to qualify fully for ur masters.......u see securing masters position in canada is very competitive.....y? 9 out of every 10 canadian goes to school....makes it difficult for international student to secure a masters position(thesis)/securing a supervisor....non thesis masters are better if u won't mind, u have better chances of getting admission.....u can apply for that its majorly professional and industrially based.....all dsame if u feel u needed a thesis masters by all means u can keep applying and putting all trust in GOD u might be extended an admission offer.

@Shayi12
I would advice to link d airlines directly to check for reservation. U must also be sure before paying that the airline u wld be boarding is not transiting the USA if not ull be needing a transit visa. Processing a transit visa may take all ur time. Am a victim, though I was able Tto redirect the flight but I cldnt get a suitable schedule and has left me with no option than to miss the orientation and first weekk of lectue.

No you don't have to. The only thing is you may not be able to go out of the airport. The good side of Seattle Tacoma is that is is big and busy so you can't be that bored while there.

thank you...

bumdish:

If you are not eligible for a waiver and you do not have a valid US VISA that permits transiting the US, you will be sent back to Niaja and recorded as having been denied entry to the US even if you are not disembarking from the plane.
You can apply for a category C or B1/B2 US Visa right now or you cancel/re-book your flight avoiding the US. I would go for the latter without thinking twice.

thank you for the light......

Wow, nice one Siga, you are really taking this to the next level, God bless you.
Someone once found my contact via the internet and contacted me about this same issue but for another school. I remember going to her department to inquire but it was stories, I then went to the graduate studies office and it was still a no-no, I later went to the Student Finance office; those ones stated stories also until I was lucky to speak directly with their boss. According to the madam, they have started receiving such requests from international students so they opened something like a suspense account to warehouse the funds until the student arrives, that way, they have a workaround for the students. Thankfully, the lady in question will be landing soon.
I wouldn't know how far this matter has gone but I would advise that you guys keep being persistent at it, you could check with the finance office if that has not been done already.
Guys, if at the end of it all, you are unable to make headway with the school, go drop the money into their account, grab all your mails, write a detailed letter, attach your receipt and send to CDHC. At that point you have done all that is humanly possible, you've had it documented and even dropped the cash. I don't believe CDHC would be unsatisfied.
See if you can scoop the account details here http://www.keyano.ca/Admissions/FinancialAid/FinancialServicesCentre.aspx

Yea i fink dropping the tuition into the school account is a pragmatic approach, their name and student ID would reflect on d bank details. i fink its enough to convince CDHC.....am sure with that they wont be asking for confirmation havent known that d school's payment policy. During my own CDHC trail...my school closed due to unforseen situation ravaging the city of calgary....i cldnt obtain d Confirmation receipt on time i had to present the bank payment receipt before d deadline....later later after d deadline i obtained d confirmation and presented it to CDHC.

Kicon: Good day my Chairman and Oga’s in the house,
Please, am almost ready to submit my application for Jan. 2014, only went to do my Police Certificate then i discovered my International Passport would expire on the 2nd week of March,2014. Please advise if i should use it or renew it.

i refer to a section of the CIC checklist which states that your passport should have a minimum validity for the duration of your course. U av to renew ur passport before applying. av seen cases where applicants applied and later withdrew his passport for the purpose of renewing, consequently was denied. good luck...may GOD help u in JESUS name.

hayek: Good day forumites: I am back in Lagos now. In view of the advice offered this week, I would like to go to CDHC on Monday AM. Like I said I did my medical almost 4 weeks now and when I got my medical it was not accompanied with further instructions. In this regard, I dont know the next step and folk here advised that I should go to CDHC to drop my docs including my passport. I would like to ask if I would have to send those docs and passport with UPS or simply go there and drop it myslf? If I am to send me SOA, would it be the one I sent when I applied online or would have to get a new statement?

i would advice u to go in person, submit all outstanding documents(passport, prepaid courier and confirmation receipt for your one year tuition). i got my medical instruction via email, dsame day i was issued another instruction(with deadline 26 days from d date of issue) to pay my tuition,d instruction was mailed to me via DHL courier unfortunately DHL didn't deliver it until i have just 8 working days to the expiration of d instruction(if not for GOD's intervention maybe i wont just get it till d deadline is exceeded). so my point is that channels of communication might fails at times because of our environment,in this case its not CHDC's fault neither is it yours. so go there and present all necessary documents. GOD been merciful always will see u through.
