seunmsg: People are supposed to serve in this positions, why then do they always rig, fight and lie to get to the positions? Is it compulsory to serve? Shame on all the leaders of NLC who can not organise a free, fair and credible elections without rancour on two different occasions. Do you know why this is so? It is because everybody want to get something from government. This will not end very soon, it is strongly attached to our mentality. From ordinary primary school class monitor to the presidency, the story is thesame. It will not end soon.!!! |

saintopus: PRESIDENT of the Medical and Health Workers Union, MHWUN and immediate past Treasurer of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC was in the wee morning Saturday declared new president Congress, amidst protest by some of the contestants including his challenger, Comrade Joe Ajaero of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE. The aggrieved leaders are presently in a crucial meeting to determine the next line of actions. One of the possible actions, Vanguard gathered may be to withhold allegiance to NLC until their grievances are addressed. Among labour leaders that have rejected the election results included the Comrade Joe Ajaero, two Deputy Presidential candidates, Comrades Isa Aremu and Igwe Achese alongside members of their unions. They had alleged that the election ab initio was skewed to favour some candidates to cover suspected fraud fraud. The retuning officer and pioneer General Secretary of NLC, Dangiwar Aliyu while announcing the results, declared that Waba pulled 1, 695 votes of the 3115 votes to defeat his main rival, Joe Ajero from the Nigeria Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) who pulled 1, 140 votes. 3119 delegates from 43 affiliate unions of the NLC were accredited for the election. But the aggrieved members also lamented that some delegates from the South South and South East were disenfranchised to favour other ‘anointed’ candidates who would cover ugly tracks.

It is a good strategy, the military certainly cannot police the high level of vandalism of oil pipeline in the Niger delta. It takes one who knows the creeks and swamp route to police the vandals. You can imagine posting a naval officer from Benue state to check vandals in our creeks(am from the Niger delta). He (naval officer) knows nothing about the creeks and the many routes as well as the many pipelines that criss-cross the swamps which are in hundreds. Good work GEJ!!! |

ochejoseph: Op you have applied common sense you would have realised that your list is the same reason why africa has refused to develop
Now take a careful look at your list again!
You realise that nearly 90 % of those countries you listed are mainly African countries that are going no where?
Zuma that you listed is more interested in taking new wives than stabilising the South African economy which has continued to shrink after the mining plunge! He like Buhari In 1984 has presided over the destruction of the South African economy!
SA has been demoted by Nigeria to the second biggest economy
Committing The destiny of 170 million Nigerians That live in Africa's biggest economy to the hands of a 72 year old man who virtually forgets everything important will be the greatest mistake of these generation!
Goodluck remains the best choice in these race between new and old Very sound reasoning!!! |

They should sue him for libel if they think what he is saying is false. Nigeria politicians are like that!!! Always insulting and abusing each other yet no one is sued. No money paid, tommorrow Amaechi will abuse his own, next day Wike counterabuse. Its part of the political game it does appear. At the end no one goes to court, and no one appologises either.
Its part of the game, APC and PDP should learn to develop thick skin about these things. |

Politics › APC Govt Will Transform Nigeria, Says Aregbesola by saintopus(op): 5:53pm On Feb 27, 2015 |
THE Coordinator of the South West Campaigns for the Buhari-Osinbajo presidential campaigns and Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday said General Muhammadu Buhari’s account of the comprehensive plans by the All Progressives Congress at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) talk has reinforced the party’s readiness and commitment to recue Nigeria from the claws of its predators. Aregbesola said Buhari’s articulate presentation of the development agenda of the APC is a show of how prepared the party is for the rescue mission.
The Governor of Osun, in a statement by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, said Buhari’s presentations on the scourge of corruption, horror of terrorism and the tragedy of the ruling party’s lack of vision aptly captures the very rationale behind APC’s dogged fight to compel change.
“Nigeria has on her laps at the moment the tragedy of a party that has no idea of how to take the country out of the woods; a party and its government at a loss how to confront the horror of terrorism which is unfortunately fuelled by the poverty its anti-people policies have also bred and the endemic corruption which has been elevated to the level of state policy.
“There is no doubt that the Jonathan administration is too fickle-minded to surmount the many areas of urgent needs which our people are craving for. This is why the clamour for change has attained this all-time high in the history of our country,”
Congratulating Buhari and the party for a robust presentation, Aregbesola said after the Chatham House talk, even Buhari’s worst critics must have come to terms and embraced the positive change ideas that he and the APC represent.
He added, “Nigerians and the international community by now understand the determination of Buhari, the fecundity of his ideas and the clarity of his vision to take Nigeria out of the present morass.”
The Osun governor said Nigerians must put the disappointment of the postponement of the election behind them and re-energise towards the March 28 and April 11 elections, adding that the endurance of the next few weeks would guarantee the survival of Nigeria under a transparent, focus-driven and people-oriented government of the APC |
