Enigma: I see you are learning techniques and even language from your Roman catholic denomination brothers! Interesting. In fact I notice that one of them, who is also one of my crybabies, has already jumped on your post. smiley

You'd better be careful or soon you too will be lying ok saying that you do not read my posts. grin

OK to your point: first I will let you in on a little secret --- I do not even know what question of yours you are referring to and I did not even bother to go back and check after reading your post. That is how serious (NOT!) I take whatever questions you guys might have been posing.

However, just to let you know that I fear no question you may pose and for the benefit of anyone who genuinely has questions about baptism for the dead, I already gave a link to an old thread earlier. On that thread I made a number of posts that extensively addressed the passage in which the apostle Paul mentioned baptism for the dead. You can start from the following link and also read my subsequent posts wink https://www.nairaland.com/1016132/catholic-position-dont-point#11789828

And talking of pot calling kettle black, obviously you guys have no answers to the various questions and points I raised about the false and fraudulent claims made by Roman Catholics on various things and of course you would not then comment on the various tactics used by your brothers to avoid answering them.

Let me throw one at you --- and of course in fairness I do not expect you to answer it or to answer it here. I just want it to prick your conscience. wink

If the Roman Catholic church denomination "canonised" the Bible in the 4th century, how come the Roman Catholic "pope" Gregory I did not know about it in the 5th and 6th centuries? wink

smiley
Though i know what a joker you are and how tricky you try to be, I went through the thread in question, and all I can say is that Pastor AIO, Chukwudi44 and Souldust to mention but a few deserve a pat on the back for making a mess of you and your likes. You ended up venting your anger on AIO. Lol.

I don't even know why you are proud enough to refer to that thread. Smh
AIO and Souldust are non catholics like you yet they fall your hand.

italo: 2. Sometimes, I have non-Catholic friends asking me to give them a Rosary. Most of them just want it for fashion, yet they want it blessed too.

Two things come to mind.

A. I should help them because they might obtain graces from it as a sacramental even though they dont see it as such and as a prayer.

B. I should not help them because they would most likely desecrate something that is sacred. And it might also serve to encourage people not to take the Rosary seriously.

Please help me with your thoughts and experiences.
On this, I will contribute based on personal experience.

A time came when my uncle's boy ask me for a rosary, (for fashion I suppose ) cuz a popular tiny design of rosary was invoke then mostly used for fashion. Like your friends, he wanted it blessed.
I HAD ONE BLESSED AND I GAVE IT TO HIM. My reason is this " For a non catholic to ask for a blessed rosary, there is this possibility that he has at least an iota of conviction there is power in it. A convinced non catholic will not want to be associated with the rosary.

Again I said to myself, how exactly he is going to desecrate it even if he wanted to. *well that's between him and God*. I played my part and left the other to God.

Though he was non-catholic by birth and my uncle who is catholic allow his boys to attend their own churches, the boy though born of Cherubim parents, he did his first holy communion few months ago.

My point is, give your friends the rosary, if they choose to desecrate it, it is between them and God. You migth also be aiding him in his conversion without knowing it.

italo: Please, can someone help me with these concerns of mine.

I recently lost my Rosary and though I can easily buy a new one, I always forget when I'm around a Church.

As a result I have gotten used to saying the Rosary by counting on my fingers.

From your experience, is it the same thing or is there more efficacy to the prayer when I use a blessed chaplet?
Haa. Like seriously you've got just one Rosary?
*Don't mind me, I gat you*

Now to your question. In all sincerity, the efficacy of your prayers does not lie on the chaplet but on your faith, sincerity of heart and the prayer itself not the object used.

You will agree with me that with or without the chaplet, you can still say your rosary prayers. Though the chaplet is meant to aid you, it it not compulsory to use it, and not using it does not make your prayers less effective.

On a side note, try get another one ASAP.

Christianity Etc › Re: Murder. Holocaust. ABORTION by SalC: 2:29pm On Nov 07, 2013
Joshthefirst: “A transport of children up to three years of age arrived. The workers were told to dig a big hole into which the children were thrown and buried alive. I cannot forget how the earth rose, until the children suffocated.

Now is the time to describe the SS men who had created and operated this hell on earth:"

"He was standing on a hill, next to the pits…. the pits… full, they were full. I can’t tell you; not hundreds, thousands, thousands of corpses…. oh God."

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum tells the story of one survivor of the Einsatzgruppen in Piryatin, Ukraine, when they killed 1,600 Jews on April 6, 1942, the second day of Passover:

I saw them do the killing. At 5:00 p.m. they gave the command, "Fill in the pits." Screams and groans were coming from the pits. Suddenly I saw my neighbor Ruderman rise from under the soil … His eyes were bloody and he was screaming: "Finish me off!" … A murdered woman lay at my feet. A boy of five years crawled out from under her body and began to scream desperately. "Mommy!" That was all I saw, since I fell unconscious.[6]

The above quoted post are some of the various crimes commited during the holocaust.
Jews were killed in mass and buried alive by the german soldiers.
Hitler declared jews non-human. He decieved the germans into thinking they were a superior race.

Would you kill those jews if threatened with death? If a gun was pointed at your head and you were told to get into a bulldozer and kill those jews or die, would you? Even if you knew they were going to die anyway? If you were given a gun to finish them off(which would be better than burying them alive) would you?

If you wouldn't, congratulations, you value human life.

So what about abortion? Is it not the same? You value human life, yet you would kill a baby in the womb for selfish reasons?
You might say 'what if she doesn't have money to raise him?'
Does that justify killing it? You value human life?
You were raped, and you would kill a child for the crimes of his father?
You would kill a child because of selfish interests?
You can say: "he's not a human yet"
That's what hitler said to justify the killing of 6 million jews. He said they were not human.
How would you feel if they ended your life in the womb? The womb? The safest place on earth.
My heart bleeds.

If you value human life, you wouldn't commit abortion. The childs life is in your hands. And you would kill it?

May God have mercy on this wicked and sinful generation who murders unborn children. The cries of the innocent. The world will pay in judgement.
But God is able and willing to forgive if you repent.
Stop the abortion and sin and killing.

Over 53 million babies have been killed in the united states since they legalized abortion. The american holocaust. The Nigerian holocaust?

I am short of words...
Repent humanity. The kingdom of God is at hand.
Nice and sensible post.
Our generation almost do not value other people's life, For selfish reasons we terminate other peoples life because we want to save ours yet at the long run we still die.

May God help us.

Enigma: You too want to dodge? lol grin

You will have to address:
1. who was doing baptism for the dead?
2. Do Roman Catholic denomination people believe in baptism for the dead?

smiley
I've known you and your style for quite some time now so don't try to use those pranks here. You dodged my question and want me to answer yours.

Well irrespective of who practiced it, we cannot deny that it was practiced and Paul made reference to it. Now can you be sincere enough to answer that simple question begging for an honest answer?

adsonstone: oga, calm down nau.

Hope you can mention the 99.999999% of doctrines you both agree on, if you cant, keep quiet....and if you can, go ahead and list them.

The few I mentioned make up the major differences and its greater than 0.00001% (which already makes you a liar).
If you need more, Enigma will give you.

....and as I said, list out the 99.99999% of same doctrines that you claim you have.
Lolz Enigma my seperated brother, help of the helpless.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 1:10pm On Nov 07, 2013
Enigma: It is interesting that the Roman Catholic denomination people now seem to be contradicting one another on baptism for the dead unless I'm missing something.

In the past, one said that the Roman Catholic church denomination does not "condone" baptism for the dead (see link above). On this thread, another seems to be suggesting that it is a practise of the church!

So which is it? Do Roman Catholics believe in baptism for the dead or not?

grin
Nobody is suggesting anything, you will do well by giving an answer to that question.

If people are baptized for the dead, where are the dead?

Jesus said Hell, you and the catholic church say purgatory. Will you deny or will you eat your words?

By the way, what did u ask kingk?
I would have repeated the question if Italo has not given the explanation of hell or hades as regards the rich man. Check his explanation and tell me if the hell used there was gotten from the shoel or gehanna, the difference or do you say they are thesame.

Jesus said the rich man was in hell, catholics say its Purgatory.
How pathethic. Smh
Before you conclude, you can help kingk answer the question I asked him since yesterday.

Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 7:15pm On Nov 06, 2013
Mrlouis: bro they are confusionists. Meaning they say u can eat ur cake and have it back. One thing dis people dont know is that our God is an orderly God. He is not a fool for making even in real life situations everything exists as pairs.that is why even without using the bible,a normal human being who hasnt gone to church will agree that there is no purgatory. man and woman. Good and bad, sin and righteousness, heaven and hell, love and hate.God and devil. Death and life, peace and war, sweet and bitter, and i could go on for eternity. U see, Every tin has its opposite.. But this confusionists are just making no sense. It will surprise you that there are many catholics, who still attend catholic church but dont even accept this doctrine of purgatory, why? Cos a normal man knows there gat to be proof for anything said .biblical, science , and so on. But these people have no proof. What do they do, they twist the bible to confuse others and themselves the more. Isnt that wickedness? Thereby giving more room to iniquity. Because that is what the end result is. Yes
And the trinity is also in pairs right? Smh.

If you think the teaching of purgatory make people sin, then i can only imagine what the faith alone teaching and once save always saved teaching does to people.

kingk: Oga please stop twisting the bible, it's clearly stated in LUKE 16: 23 And in HELL he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Please it's either heaven or HELL. Remember this
What is this one talking about?

So the people in hell communicate with those in heaven, have compassion?

So they are no longer cast away or prevented from beholding heaven.
I also hope you know when the word translated hell is shoel and when it is gehenna and their actual difference.

Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 5:05pm On Nov 06, 2013
@Amara this is part of the quote you are talking about.

[quote author=italo]@ mavister and others, you kept asking for scrptural proof of purgatory.

Luke 16:19-31 - in this story, we see that the dead rich man is suffering but still feels compassion for his brothers and wants to warn them of his place of suffering. But there is no suffering in heaven or compassion in hell because compassion is a grace from God and those in hell are deprived from God's graces for all eternity. So where is the rich man? He is in purgatory.

italo: No.

In a sense, yes. More plainly, there's purification from uncleanness.

Judgement day.

Now answer these:

In Luke 16: 19-31, where is the rich man?

Heaven, hell or earth?

In 1 Cor 15:29, 30, where are the dead whom people are being baptized for located?

Heaven, hell or earth?
Amara isn't this Italo's post you were refering to? Where is purgatory mention here.

Correct me if am wrong by quoting the right post.

Mrlouis: hahah i hear say the rich man dey do frog jump for there . This catholics are clownish. They are even confused about their purgatory. One was telling me the other day dat do i know moses is still in purgatory? I asked him how does he know. He said he knows...i almost pissed on my clothes cos of laughter. Laughing in pidgin. Gbegbegbegbegbegbe
If lying is the only thing you were taught in your church, then am afraid you are a captive.

If you were once a Catholic like you claim, you should have known the catholic church does not teach that moses is still in purgotory neither did Italo say the rich man is in purgatory yet, he only asked a question and you guys are running wild already.

You guys should answer the question and stop assuming what he meant.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC:
Some people think we should all run away from the Catholic church because they did so.

I was once a catholic before Holy Spirit opened my eyes is their popular chant. But they won't make mention of the one time great protestants whom studying thesame bible led to the Catholic church.

Who is fooling who?
