chidima: I am so glad to see this thread where we can come and share our faith, grow and learn abt our mother church.

pls how do you convince a person who used to be catholic now sedevacantist to come back to the church. Sedevantists are those that believe that the seat of the pope is vacant. Have u guys heard of them, If you have, what was your encounter like. Also you can check google for more information.

Nice thread.
AS USUAL

Dear Chidima you are highly welcome, trust you are doing great? Your contributions, questions, prayers, and greetings are always welcome here. Relax, you are now home. Remain blessed.

To your question, this is my first time of hearing such. I will look into it.

From purgatory to baptism, later to rapture, now to use of english.

adsonstone: when did 'I guess' stop being a suggestion and become a 'definite command'?

Even a 7year-old primary school student understands better. Smh
I should be the one smh for you but i choose not to.

FYI, your guess is irrelevant here.
I wasn't looking for guesses, i am looking for answers.

italo: The thing is I even have 100 more proofs. But whats the point when they haven't successfully or reasonably refuted 1 out of the previous 100?
They are good at opening threads but will end up jumping from pillar to post.

six one: 1 COR 3:11-15

stop abusing these verses. purgatorians
Non abuser you are yet to prove us wrong yet you call us abusers.

Your brother who tried proving us wrong ended up graciously and wonderfully proving us right with those verses. When he was told, he quickly changed to baptism, now to rapture. Una weldon oo.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 10:04am On Nov 06, 2013
adsonstone: I guess the question should be 'is rapture biblical?'
It is not your duty to tell me how my question should be.

Having said that, if you have an answer to my question, go on and answer it.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 9:58am On Nov 06, 2013
six one: The time you use to say this can be used to answer one or two of his questions. Fact: Mavister know what he's saying with scriptural backings and indepth analysis.
Italo and his fellows only drop one bible verse to back up a whole doctrine. A verse you have littile or no understanding of.

Verdict: Mavister TKO Italo and his fellow purgatrians
Some people enjoy lying.

The bible verses Italo provided in a single post since yesterday is greater than that of all the protestants put together.

Non of you tried to refute it, yet you are telling blatant lies.

Typical of the protestant.

From purgatory to baptism now to rapture. I laugh.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 9:38am On Nov 06, 2013
@mavister after shouting as if i said something wrong, you turn around to prove me right.
This thread is fast leaving the purpose of it's creation.

Mavister, in your question about the priest, you said the tribulation is coming immediately after the rapture, but in the bible verser you quoted for explanation, the concept you termed rapture took place after the tribulation.

And i ask, between tribulation and this your rapture, which is coming first?
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC: 8:30am On Nov 06, 2013
mavister: really i donot understand the concept ''purgatory'' funny... I guess i donot concur with you on the existence of 'purgatory' thats why u said so. Besides...if there is anyone who understands what purgatory is all about, i think it is I..for one thing it doesnt exist. I wonder what your still dragging in that. Anyway i have a question for you,.since italo shyed away fro the question..let me ask you now.. Suppose a priest who has been holy all his life now commits a ''small sin'' as u call it and the rapture takes place, will he go in the rapture? Will he? Or u dont believe in rapture? Or if the priest doesnt go in the rapture, will he die in the great tribulation (which will commence immediately after the rapture) and go to ur purgatory before going to heaven?? Pls explain cheesy
Did the word rapture appear in the bible?

Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC:
Some people can be really funny.

So far no single protestant have been able to prove nada against the existence of purgatory. Some even go about proving it's existence. Something like...............

1cor3V15 is not about purgatory, it doesn't concern your salvation, it only says on that day if your work is liken to wood or hay it will be burnt and you will be saved but not rewarded, blablabla. Isn't that exactly the teaching of purgatory? Smh for ignorant people.

Still they will open their mouth wide and say no catholic has proven purgatory yet. Lol you are proving thesame thing as we do yet you are too blind to see it.
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Catholics by SalC: 3:55am On Nov 06, 2013
woky: We come to you at this moment, our Lord and our God, with the very prayer Jabez prayed in 1chronicles 4:9-10, and you heard him and blessed him. We ask O God that you take away everything that worked or contended against us in the past and bless us indeed. Enlarge our scope Oh Lord, so that we will serve you effectively and b miraculously enriched. Let your hand be upon us. Also shield us from everything that is evil so that they will not cause us pain.. we receive ur blessing now with thanksgiving in Jesus name. Amen

Good morning my beloved brothers and sisters, hope u guys had a wonderful night rest
Amen to the prayer.

Good morning Woky and all. But seriously woky are you already up for the day?

Though you are the op of this thread, you are yet to disprove or prove anything , just being tossed about and very inconsistent. The only one you try to prove, your fellow protestant disagreed with it and you turn around to vent your annoyance on me. Lol you guys should reach a consensus and get back to us.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Is There Anything Like Purgatory? by SalC:
JMAN05: Sir, I think you dont understand. Jesus death made people to be declared righteous not according to works but by grace/undeserved kindness.

God made the saints righteous though they are sinners. their sins were blotted out. so God do not view them as sinners again cos of Christ's blood. No need for minor sin removal. Even while on earth they are viewed as adopted sons and saints. the sainthood is not gotten after they die.
If God made the saints righteous though they were sinners, yet today there are sinners who will not make it to heaven because they were not made righteous like the saints, yet all of them were sinners who don't need the work to be justified, are you implying that God is now partial.

kingk: Thanks for your example BUT I thank God that there's nothing new on the face of this earth.
The same as you said was applicable to REHAB THE HARLOT you remember the story Aiit........... Now for we have the spirit of God (christ) in us bearing witness, also at that moment of telling lie as a elect, your spirit is also asking for forgiveness........ At that point bro God sees the Heart cos it's not intentional I must say as REHAB was saved, bro you'll be saved.
Notice I did not dispute the fact that I will be saved, but does it do away with the fact that I sinned, and for me to get saved, I needed to be purified of that sin, and that purification is what we call purgation or purgatory as the case may be, this is where we can rightly bring in Heb 12 V 24 which talks about the spirit of good people made perfect.

kingk: Oga pls what do you know about sin unto death and sin not unto death...... Maybe you know all, can you explain and give some examples for the knowledge of it.
Let me go this way.

The university were I graduated is an abode of student cultists . Now if for any reason, the cultists had stormed my lodge asking me of my friend whom few minutes ago; ran into my house for safety. I know that telling them where he is will lead to him being severely beaten or even killed. So I lied to them that I've not seen him, they left and he was saved.

Notice that I lied to save someone's life. if I die within few minutes and was to be judge by my deed few minute ago, where will I go?

Will I go to heaven for saving a life or to hell fo lying.

Now this is a sin borne out of compassion to save life, but it doesn't do away with the fact that I sinned therefore to enter heaven, I must be purified for nothing impure, not even one who told a lie will enter heaven.

leon12: I was doing some research and came to know 'bout russia orthodox Church( mostly 60% of population believe in dis faith) and came to know that it was Apostle Andrew(apostle peters brother) who founded this church N to my suprise they share almost same faith and doctrine with catholics. It assured me that all this catholic doctrine is not mere Men doctrine like how most xtain assume it to be. The two church was founded by people who worked with our lord jesus and they founded the church in different part of world but still same faith.. I encourage catholics to be doing more research 'bout dis whole things.
First thing first, you're most welcome to this Catholic home dear Leon12, feel free to stop by often, and may you be aboundantly blessed.

To your post, there is no doubt we profess the faith taught by Jesus Christ and passed down by the apostles and church father to our present generation. Others only read the scriptures while we read and live the scriptures.

Once again, welcome home.
