joel lala: But someone said that her husband allowed her to check his phone and she saw that he was about to hook up with his ex..doesnt that show that he doesnt care?
It might be a mistake or he intentionally wanted her to know(he doesn't care about how she will feel).

Come to think of it, what does he want from his ex? Why would a married man have concubines all over the place. His wife knowing or not knowing might not make him change his mind.

Family › Re: How Will You React If Your Wife Slaps You? by SalC: 2:18pm On Nov 13, 2013
I don't support what your wife did cuz I see no reason why any sane woman should slap her husband.

Having said that, you should forgive her. Don't try to revenge please, that's one of the crazy things you see in marriage.
Christianity Etc › Re: @ITALO. Catholics Please Defend Your Doctrines Here by SalC: 11:39am On Nov 13, 2013
@Op I hope you are not out to just argue but to seek clarifications.

When you get one, will you be truthful enough to accept it?

Though all what you asked have been treated on different threads, we can also grant your request if you so desire and will not drift along the line.
Family › Re: Should Married People Have Access To Each-Other’s Phones? by SalC: 11:19am On Nov 13, 2013
blaezderek: I really don't see anything wrong in married partners checking each others phone. After all they are one in marriage. It is only when you are doing something funny that you need to hide your phone. I don't even think It's good to hide your phone even in an ordinary relationship cos something serious comes from something ordinary.
Exactly, if you are sure you are not upto something silly, why will your partner not have access to your phone.
Family › Re: Should Married People Have Access To Each-Other’s Phones? by SalC: 11:17am On Nov 13, 2013
I don't see anything wrong with it unless you have something to hide, which is wrong.

Your sister shouldn't suggest renting another house for the MIL. What if your mum happens to be the one treating her the way her MIL does, will she send her away?

She should draw her MIL close and show her love and care, hopefully oneday her MIL will have a re-think.

The husband too made a big mistake by beating up his wife, that shows he doesn't value her, but I suggest your sister should put that behind and work towards ensuring it doesn't happen again.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Are Nigerians Quick To Blame Witches For Their Misfortune & Backwardness. by SalC:
Ukuts gp: There was this friend of mine those days who had written jamb exam for three good times without hitting the cut-off mark. The next thing i heard from him was that, is like somebody among his family members or a witch from his village might be responsible. I just laughed and told him that he just need to read more, revised past questions, attend tutorials and asked questions on areas he could not understand. I told him that i will be coming to his place from time to time so that we would study together, i advised him not to give up. He then put in for the same exam the following year, fortunately for him he past very well, beating the cut-off mark.

I then figure out that it is not a witch that is responsible for his failures but his reading habit and level of comprehension and many other factors might be responsible.

Most people when they are poor, it is a witch, when they drive carelessly and have an accident, it is a witch, when some hit their foot against a stone, it is a witch or a demon. Everything is caused by a witch or evil spirit in their family. Very Soon when some people fart they will say the witch have started again.

I am not arguing that a witch cannot cause some of all this misfortune but many are as a result of our negligence and nonchalant attitude.

We should try to take a good study of our attitude and way of life before blaming spirits and witches for our backwardness and misfortune, some might be our fault.
But we should continue in prayers, it helps in one way or the other. Thanks.
Some people attribute virtually every ill-luck to witches or demons which is not always true. When you try to achieve something in life but fail, seek the face of God ( because some people go all out seeking things without seeking God's opinion first) and put more effort.
Am not disputing the fact that some evil forces are sometimes responsible for failure, but the problem is that many people see more of evil than the hand of God or their own faults in the things they do thereby giving the devil more reference than he deserve.

Yes the witches are sometimes responsible but most times they know nothing about the things we attribute to them. Let every christian pray more, live holy and plan well. Then success will come as a reward.

JMAN05: I never mentioned unforgiveable sin here.

there is no reason for clearification. the point is clear.

willful sin is serious. as for the above about blowing a plane or telling a lie. I ve said that sin has degrees. the lie may or may not be on serious issue that God will let the person miss out in the kingdom cos He knows we are dust. depending on the situation or thing lied upon.

on the other hand, blowing up a plane willfully is no minor sin. you murdered innocent lives, God cannot over look such sin cos it is serious.
Mortal and venial sin proved.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pope Francis Embraces Disfigured Man(Pictures) by SalC: 8:37pm On Nov 11, 2013
49cents: @ those missing the point at the Pope's gesture of touching that man with that genetical disease vis a vis that doctors and nurses also could touch the same man!

When a nurse or doctor touch that man it is first a professional touch nothing humane about it; they are just doing a job they are paid gor nothing more!

But if that same nurse and doctor recognises in thatr sick patient another human person needy of love, acceprtance and compassion then their touch would reach not just the diseased skin but their heart!

We take everything for granted especially the important ones......imagine if nobody dared to touch you becaused of some condition you are living with or even cast a gaze of importance and freindship towards you....how could you live?

This is what is called unconditional affection for another: I embrace you; I accept you; not after changing you but just the way you are!!!!

Have you ever touched those beggers with mangled limbs across lagos streets before? Or have even dared to gaze right into their eyes as give them money......that's the miracle Christ would have you perform everyday.

@those demanding of the Pope a cure.... Mind you The Devil/Anti-Christ perform signs and wonder but they can't love!!! And that's what Pope Francis did
Best post.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Nigerians, Even Young Nigerians Give The Devil So Much Credit? by SalC: 9:26am On Nov 11, 2013
Most religious people today see more of the devil in the things they do instead of their own mistake or even the hand of God.

If someone is sick, it's the devil. If he commits an offence, it's the devil. If he fails to achieve what he desire, it's the devil.

The devil will even be happy for being given credit for what he did not do.

babestell: So today I attended mass in The Hague Netherlands, fortunately it was in the international parish so mass was in english not Dutch..
Nobody covers their hair here even the teenage girls who were serving mass, the choir was really nice, they used an organ and the music was on point. Next week is their food fair what we would call baazar and the priest allowed one if the harvest committee members to preach homily, tying in today's reading to the food fair, the proceeds of the fair will go to different charities all over the world. During consecration most people stood infact I noticed it was only the africans who knelt down. During the Our Father, the whole church held hands....I thought that was really sweet. Apart from that every thing was the same, I could as well have been in Mater or St Dominics. A sign of the unity of the Holy Church, a unity which has lastdd 2000years and will continue till the end of time.
Because of the food fair next week, fada kept talking about food and that made me hungry grin, plus the cold is crazy.
Unfortunately I didnt get the priest name.
How will get the name when you are hungry. Peaceful stay dear and bring something while coming.

nwadaigbo: sometimes, sickness and sin has some relationship. Thats y in the bible, some people who were healed by Christ were told to go, for their sins hav been forgiven. You peple who claim to be carrying bible about to decieve and defraud ppl dont reason fine and dont understand the content of the book you front around
Let me assume i didnt see the insult and address your concern.

Assuming you followed the thread from the begining, you will notice Gombs replaced sickness with sin in my previous post which prompted the question.

Again two things sometimes (not even always) having thesame source, doesn't make them thesame.
If you want to get a clearer picture of the discussion, go through the first again but rather slowly this time and then read john9 v 1-4.
If you are in the business of defrauding people with the bible, i am not.
Christianity Etc › Re: Reasons Why The Roman Catholic Members Will Go To Hell-fire. by SalC: 12:59pm On Nov 10, 2013
Ukuts gp: When the issue concerning the catholic is raised, they always talk about the canonisation of the scriptures to defend their evil man-made traditions as if canonisation of the scripture will save them. They cant even be the one wu canonised the bible because if they do, they will nt blatantly and defiantly go against its teaching like that. This will simply tell u dat catholic is a pagan infested church.
Yet you go to church on the day they sanctioned, celebrate chrismas on the day they chose. Who is the ignorant pagan here?
Christianity Etc › Re: Reasons Why The Roman Catholic Members Will Go To Hell-fire. by SalC: 12:49pm On Nov 10, 2013
Ukuts gp: dont mind them. They are just deceiving themselves. If they go to heaven they will pollute it with their idols and dead skulls they worship as God
All this because you were told you celebrate pagan chrismas? My dear if catholics are going to hell fire, you are going before them period. At least they know their stand, you don't.
