Seem like you've already recommended one for yourself.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Prayer More Effective When Constructed With Verbal Aesthetics? by SalC: 10:28am On Nov 10, 2013
The efficacy of your prayer does not lie on your grammatic construction or duration of prayer, but those things simply make the audience feel good. So do your best and leave the rest to God.

Mellin: evidence of tithes I meant is that my tithe card should be brought to church to see if atall am paying.. if not then i have to pay a certain amount ..that's what I was told.....

Tithe card!!! Smh for this church. Op you have to take a decision fast o.
Now you just have a right challenge why you should be allow to go to other place of worship to know more about your religion than to be dogmatic to one church. This issue happen in many churches, that even pastor or the committee in charge of Tithe will call individual that have not brought their tithe for a particular month and ask why the delay. My friend things are happening
Holy moses on a bicycle!!!

I've been to many churches o but am yet to come across any practising such.
This is just ridiculous, calling people and asking for tithe. I think this will only happen in small churches that can easily identify their members.
Christianity Etc › Re: My Wedding And Tithes Wahala In My Church by SalC: 11:12pm On Nov 09, 2013
Acidosis: Some churches keep record of Tithes and pledges.

From Orthodox to some pentecostals.
There is a difference between a church keeping record of the money realized through tithe and pledges and a church issuing receipt for the payment of tithe to be presented as evidence when needed.

As far as I know, tithe is mostly being paid during church services and nobody is giving any form of evidence, so how is he supposed to get evidence even if he has been paying?

I don't even want to go into the priest pastor tithe issue.
Christianity Etc › Re: My Wedding And Tithes Wahala In My Church by SalC: 10:58pm On Nov 09, 2013
Why do I have this feeling you aren't telling the truth. Since when did tithe start having evidence or receipt. If you are talking about dues in the church (if there's any) it will be quite understandable, but evidence for tithe? I doubt.

Christianity Etc › Re: Top Ten Miraculous Catholic Priests In Nigeria by SalC: 1:06pm On Nov 09, 2013
Op what's this praise singing all about. We are catholics and it's very 'uncatholic' to compare priest. Every catholic priest is ordained a priest forever in the priestly order of melchizedek nothing more. Thanks for your effort though.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pope Francis Embraces Disfigured Man(Pictures) by SalC: 9:26am On Nov 09, 2013
Joagbaje: It's very childish comparing churches and people. That's the issue with the op. I'm not in the habit of attacking religious leaders . It's not ethical. Comparison is ungodly . He could have just made his papal post without using it to launch attack on others.

2 Corinthians 10:12
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves:but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
It seems you are mistaken. The op did not attack anybody, Afam4eva is not the op.

Ukuts gp: i am talking about christ birthday not easter. D catholic are always puff up, blowing their own trumpet as if they own everything in christianity, when they always bring shame to the name of christ by bowing down to statues in public.
Aren't you ashamed that a bible fundamentalist like you took to pagan practise. Worst of all you don't know it's origin yet you are telling blatant lies for the world to see? Smh.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Is Wrong In Celebrating Birthdays, Christmas Etc. To The JW. by SalC: 3:52pm On Nov 08, 2013
Ukuts gp: I don't even know their business in this thread, it is simply because of their reading problems, if nt, they wud have seen where i wrote 'to the Jehovah witness'. I dnt think the catholic would have rear their ugly head to this thread from nowhere like snake under the green grass if they understand simple english. I dnt blame them anyway, because they have suffered from too much indoctrination which have made them confused fellows.
You dey vex?.

Rich4god: Just thinking... Is it not best we remain in defensive position in matters of faith and church arguments... No need making noise just like others do by simply trying to attack another persons believe. In as much as I knw that when you see the truth, you speak out. But when we open thread to teach the truth, we shouldn't make the thread look like an attack on their faith, but more like a corrective and enlightening measures. My 2cents.
Yea sometimes you pull their legs to keep them sane.

Really? When? Any link to the document?
Christianity Etc › Re: Pope Francis Embraces Disfigured Man(Pictures) by SalC: 12:04pm On Nov 08, 2013
Gombs: My dear nobody dey bring. sin. Sin is brought about when your system is invaded by actions that are not supposed to be there and they end up over powering your moral system or when there is abnormality in the spirit as in the case of the man in question.

Stop giving the devil credit for what he did not do.

Hope you see how smart your post is?
So sickness is now thesame as sin. Please stop that joke.

Note: I dont condemn individual JWs. I love them as Children of God whom love God but are in error.

This thread resulted from JMAN05 condemning Catholicism to be false while promoting JWs true.
Been following you guys on that thread, quite interesting.

See how biased u could be? angry
By cancelling pastor and writing pope instead, you show yourself more biased than the person you are accusing, otherwise isn't the pope a pastor too?

Gombs: My dear, abeg na who dey bring sickness? shocked

A. Angels
B. Demons
C. I dont know
My dear nobody dey bring sickness. Sickness is brought about when your system is invaded by organism that are not supposed to be there and they end up over powering your immune system or when there is abnormality in the gene as in the case of the man in question.

Stop giving the devil credit for what he did not do.
Christianity Etc › Re: Academic Excellence Granted, Genotype Swaps From 'ss' To 'aa' by SalC: 9:51am On Nov 08, 2013
I sincerely pray this testimony be true and remain permanent. But as a medical lab scientist who has seen alot regarding mistake in interpretation of genotype results especially between AA and SS. I advice they repeat the test other place to be rest assured because both aa and ss don't separate during genotyping and their migration is not far apart. This confuses some scientist when it is not properly controlled.

I still believe there is nothing too hard for God to do.
Christianity Etc › Re: Pope Francis Embraces Disfigured Man(Pictures) by SalC:
Joagbaje: Firstly a pastor or christian can heal the sick or cast out devils . It's a command Ftom God.

See the instruction Jesus gave.

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:freely ye have received, freely give.

Did the pope cast out the devil ?

Bring the man over to Nigeria and see how the devils get cast out by the ministers you are criticizing .

That's catholic style . Laying empty hands on empty head it's not bible.

Besides pastors do lay hands on sick . Except if they are many. You heal the sick by laying hands and you drive out devils by command . It's not every sick case that requires hand laying . Jesus didn't lay hands on every body.

I don't have any problem if you pope is busy taking photos with leepers , that's his business . But don't use is to judge others because that's not Jesus command . HEAL THE SICK , CAST OUT DEVILS.

Does your pope fly commercial plane? They even have to custom build a special bullet proof car for him, what's the name again? Popecade or something . Whatever.

I don't have problem with your rejoicing over public photograph . It's good pope packaging . But if you want to criticise others by using your photograph as standard for Christianity Think twice . Ministers do touch when such need arise but it's a touch for cure.
Empty bragging by those who stage fake healing shows.
We know better, a man who is sick has finnally been tagged demon possesed.

Enigma: ^^^ If you think so. smiley

On that thread, even your Roman Catholic brother was begging me to explain things to him --- specifically including the passage on baptism for the dead. wink

I see now that you too are now completely "falling hand" --- I guess my posts are hitting home and the truth is hurting.

However NO apologies! If Roman Catholics lie, they will have to suck it if the lie is exposed. QED wink

Lol nobody asked you for anything. You were simply beating about the busy in the face of a glaring truth.
They even went as far as teaching you church history, you should be thanking them.
