Confused977:
So you advice I keep doing what I am doing and look out for a university or continue with the polytechnic?
I love it when I see girls who against all odds are genuinely trying to distinguish themselves in the society. I pray God to grant you more wisdom.

Now to your question, I will strongly advice against you travelling abroad NOW. Pls seek for ways to expand your business and continue your education here whether B.sc or HND, not because it will guarantee you a job here but because you can later travel abroad and be able to secure a better job.

So you see, you can actually achieve both doing your business, finishing school and travelling abroad if you are tactical enough.
Just take it one at a time and be patient.

Lol I do. Maybe not as much as you guys but yes I do watch them.
Their story lines are captivating and at least I can let the kids watch them without being bothered unlike most Nigeria and Ghana movies.

Actions - K2(20 episodes), descendants of the sun(16 episodes), healer(20 episodes).

Science - circle(12 episodes).

Martial arts - illjimae(20 episodes),

Most martial arts village dramas have longer episodes.
I really don't know why I find healer boring, haven't been able to go beyond the second episode.

My first oppa was SIG in A man called called God and he became my Korean Legend after seeing Jumong.

Today,23 september is the memorial feast day of St Padre Pio of Pietrelcina (1887-1968)
Padre Pio was born to a southern Italian farmer in 1887 at Pietrelcina as Francesco Forgione. At age 15 he entered the noviciate of Capuchin Fiar, and fully joined the order at age 19.He suffered several health problems, and at a point his family thought he had tuberculosis.
Padre Pio was ordained at age 22 in 1910.In 1918 while praying before a cross,he received the stigmata, the first priest ever to be so blessed. He would hear confessions by the hour and was abld to read the consciences of those who held back.He was reportedly able to bilocate, levitate, and heal by touch. For fifty years at the monastery of San Giovanni Rotundo,he was devoted to Eucharist and prayer and was a much sought after spiritual advisor, confessor, and intercessor. He founded the House for the Relief of Suffering in 1956,a hospital that serve 60,000 a year.
Padre Pio died in 1968 of natural causes. He was beautified in 1999 and canonised in 2002 by Pope John Paul II.
So,the church in her divine mystical union commemorate and celebrate the memorial feast day of St Padro Pio. The life of the saint is memorised and presented to us almost every day, then what impact and changes have it make in our life? We must be holy and perfect as our Father in heaven is, and never to forget the agonising and suffering departed souls in purgatory through the help of our Mother, Mary for we are on journey in this earth.

St Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, pray for us

Am baffled.
The last time I was in a programme anchored by this priest, he talked about how difficult it was for him to become a priest and how much he cherished his priesthood. So whatever made him throw away the much labour that got him to priesthood and his love for his priesthood is unimaginable.

Hi everyone...

A lovely evening to you all. Hope you all had a good day?

Our very own Emma (strictlymi) is about to Wed. The wedding has been slated to hold this November in Lagos and we are all invited.

He wishes to use this medium to extend his invitation and ask that you accept his sincere apologies for his inability to make this post himself. Do accept this as a formal invitation to the wedding.

Kindly get in touch with me via a direct message(or him if you can) for further information on venue and all if you'd like to attend.

The wedding, I gather, is strictly by invitation (though not compulsory sha, oh yels) so an early indication of attendance will be appreciated to help them plan their guest list.

Thank you all for your understanding and congratulations to him.
Wow that's great!
Congrats in advance Stricky, may God bless your marriage already. smiley

1. One who hears confessions. A priest.
2. One who confesses, this is just in use of English. In the church, this person is rather called Penitent.
3. This is the one we're interested in. These are people who lived a holy life, most often heroic in defending the faith by their words, writings and actions, they only didn't have the opportunity of matyrdom, yet the Church recognizes in them an immense desire to witness for Christ with their lives. Other apostles of Christ are Matyrs, but John is a Confessor, even though they threw him in a drum of oil, but he didn't die. That's why on John's feast day, that our brother, that one...you know na, will wear white instead of red for matyrs.
Ah ah shocked that no2, thank God you clarified. I would've adopted the name confessor officially wink

Lol so you sef don understand say that our brother dey involved grin

Btw i learnt something new. So this is why white is worn on the feast day of st John?.

Thanks for the breakfast. It's good you woke up early considering you slept late last night smiley

Nice one. I hope we don't misunderstand the confessor part (as I made bold above) to mean priests. Confessors in this sense are people who lived and defended the faith but didnt die as matyrs .
Ok good. But can you also explain the term confessor holistically.
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by SalC: 6:36pm On Jun 14, 2017
jnrbayano:
"To these names others have subsequently been added to the liturgy.

The requisite conditions are enumerated as three:

1. eminens doctrina (i.e. eminent learning)
2. insignis vitae sanctitas (i.e. a high degree of sanctity)
3. Ecclesiae declaratio (i.e. proclamation by the Church).

Benedict XIV explains the third as a declaration by the supreme pontiff or by a general council. But though general councils have acclaimed the writings of certain Doctors, no council has actually conferred the title of Doctor of the Church.

The procedure involves extending to the universal church the use of the Divine Office and Mass of the saint in which the title of doctor is applied to him. The decree is issued by the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints and approved by the pope, after a careful examination, if necessary, of the saint's writings.

It is not in any way an ex cathedra decision, nor does it even amount to a declaration that no error is to be found in the teaching of the Doctor. It is, indeed, well known that the very greatest of them are not wholly immune from error.

No martyr is in the list, since the Office and the Mass are for Confessors. Hence, as Benedict XIV points out, Saint Ignatius of Antioch, Saint Irenaeus of Lyons, and Saint Cyprian of Carthage are not called Doctors of the Church."

Christianity EtcRe: Were The Early Christians Roman Catholics? by SalC: 8:55am On Apr 27, 2017
Splinz:
Let me add some refreshing history to this thread; to all lovers of the truth.

Constantine and the Council of Nicea

In the early 300s, during the time of the most severe persecution against all professing Christians, the Roman armies proclaimed their favorite general, Constantine, as Caesar. He had claimed victory after defeating his rival, Maxentius, at the Battle of Milvian Bridge outside Rome. Prior to that battle, he was said to have had a vision of the first two letters of the name of “Christ” (in Greek, chi (X) and rho (P)) and heard a voice that told him, “By this sign you will conquer.” He felt that the meaning of the letters he had seen was unmistakably symbolic of Christ and thus, he was indebted to Christianity for his victory, in spite of being an established sun worshiper. Immediately upon becoming Emperor, he issued the Edict of Toleration, which gave Christianity legality in the empire. This ended the ten years of severe persecution against the true Church, but paved the way for false Christianity to rise to prominence in the empire (“The History of the Church of God,” Kelly, part 4).

Constantine recognized the benefit of aligning with the counterfeit movement—which called itself Christian. Not only was he indebted to this “power” which helped to establish him as Emperor, he saw this movement as a potential means of unifying the empire. Yet, the Christianity of the Western empire was significantly different from that in the east and from that of other sects in North Africa. Thus, Constantine took measures to “standardize” his newfound ally—Christianity (ibid.).

Constantine convened the ecumenical council of Nicea in AD 325 to resolve the doctrinal differences between the various Christian denominations. Before this time, he had already decreed that the day of the sun would be kept throughout the empire. This “day of the sun” was the pivotal point to unify various pagan sun-worshippers with those nominal “Christians” who already had accepted Sunday and had never observed the Sabbath anyway—except for the apostates who defected and joined them.

Thus, this entire episode was a marriage of convenience between Constantine and the Church at Rome. The council of Nicea, directed personally by Constantine, condemned the practice of true Christianity. All of the precepts of the emerging Church at Rome were now decreed as part of the state religion. As protector of this counterfeit Christianity, Constantine forced everyone, pagan or Christian, into either conformity or exile (ibid.).

With the enforcement of a false religion upon them, the true Church had no choice but to flee. This was the flight prophesied in Revelation 12:6: “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” According to the day-for-a-year principle (Numbers 14:34, Ezekiel 4:4-6), the Church was to be in the wilderness for 1,260 years from this landmark date of AD 325.

NOTE: This happened during the Smyrna Era of God's Church—the second era of God's seventh Church eras (see Rev. 2 & 3)
Please what aspect of the practice of the said true christianity did the council of Nicea condemn and can you give me names and proof of the people ie true christians who fled Rome because true Christian practice was forbidden?

So after 1260 years were is the true church that came out of the wilderness or is the true church still in the wilderness?
