RomanceSex Can Be Much More Colourful, These Condoms Prove It! by salterswan(op): 1:48pm On Jul 02, 2015
Technology is back at it again. Some geniuses need to poke about and come up with some new invention to satisfy this innovative thirst residing within them.

We are in era where not only do phones see at night but we have condoms that could give you away in the event you happen to be a walking petri dish of sexual complications.

A group of students from the Isaac Newton Academy in London for some reason decided they needed to revolutionise sexual health and so they went ahead to create a Sexually Transmitted Disease, STD, detecting condom.

Yes, you read that right.

Daanyaal Ali, 14, Muaz Nawaz, 13, and Chirag Shah, 14, (so young right?) named this condom the “S.T.EYE”, (you know, because it indicates if one has an STI?) and it is not just interesting it might spook first time users.

Imagine that you are in one of those moments and as a sexually responsible person you slip on a condom, it begins to transform to a different colour right before your eyes. That is an indication that you’ve just come in contact with an STD/STI. Talk about an embarrassment overload!

The masterminds behind the S.T.EYE won the top prize in the Health Category of the U.K.’s TeenTech Awards, a contest that challenges scientifically-minded students to devise “technology that will make life better, simpler, or easier.”

The teens explained that S.T.EYE would contain antibodies for a variety of STIs. If one of those STIs happened to be present in the genitals of a condom wearer or their partner, the antibodies would recognize the antigens and cause the condom to change in color (a different color for each STI).

PoliticsIGR: Kaduna Proves Governors Should Not Owe Salaries by salterswan(op): 1:40pm On Jul 02, 2015
An Economic Policy Analyst Odilim Enwegbara has called for legislation that would stop State Governments from using Federal Government allocations for State up keep.

Enwegbara who spoke on an African Independent Television, AIT, programme “Global Business news” said the “vertical system” in which State Governments are operating will not augur well for the nation.

Kaduna State, in stark contrast generates an IGR of N0.9 billion monthly representing N11 billion yearly with the least federal government allocation of N8 billion monthly which is the least among the state aforementioned above because it is not an oil producing state has paid the salary of its workers without borrowing or asking Government for bail out.

Some economic analysts have argued that the reason why some State Governors are unable to pay salaries was as a result of miss-appropriation and embezzlement of public funds.

It was alleged that most of them used their allocation when it was rosy to buy houses and several other properties in Dubai and other nations of the world.

Politics$2.1b Allegations: Buhari’s NEC, Set Up To Tarnish My Image – Okonjo-iweala by salterswan(op): 7:15pm On Jun 30, 2015
Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, former Finance and Coordinating Minister under the Goodluck Jonathan administration has referred to the alleged $2.1billion unauthorized spending under her watch as simply a political and personal vendetta to tar her name.

Okonjo-Iweala, in a statement released by her media adviser, Paul Nwabuikwu expressed disappointment over the use of the National Economic Council, NEC, to tarnish her image.

She however expressed willingness to respond to enquiries of financial activities under her stewardship.

According to her this latest allegation is coming as a surprise as she had previously responded in detail to similar allegations of missing $20billion erroneously alleged against her by the Nigeria Governors Forum.

She further advised public officials to focus more on delivering the dividends of governance to the Nigerian people and avoid the temptation to politicize economic issues.

THERE WAS NO “UNAUTHORISED SPENDING” UNDER OKONJO-IWEALA: $2.1BILLION ALLEGATION IS LATEST CHAPTER OF POLITICAL WITCH-HUNT

The allegation by some governors that former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala spent $2.1 billion out of the Excess Crude Account “without authorization” is false, malicious and totally without foundation.

We want to state categorically that no unauthorized expenditure from the ECA was made under Okonjo-Iweala’s watch in the Finance Ministry.http://www.post-nigeria.com/2-1b-allegations-buharis-nec-set-up-to-tarnish-my-image-okonjo-iweala/

Christianity EtcStay Away From Social Media Platforms – Islamic Cleric by salterswan(op): 1:58pm On Jun 27, 2015
As Muslims across the world abstain from eating and drinking during daylight hours, Islamic clerics have advised fasting Muslims to stay away from social media platforms in order to maintain a high level of spirituality during the month of Ramadan.

In an exclusive interview with POST NIGERIA, Sheikh Habeebullah Issah, an Islamic scholar at the Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt has strongly advised fasting muslims to be cautious of the use of social media platforms during Ramadan in order not to lose the benefits inherent in fasting.

He categorically stated; “if Muslim can do away with social media in order to protect their fasting, that would be the best.”

Islamic guidelines are of course silent on the use of social media during Ramadan, but many Muslims who perform the I’tikaf [a religious retreat] during Ramadan are expected to stay away from distractions outside religious duties.

Social media platforms are recognized as a possible group of distractions.

Sheikh Habeebullah also said that spending much time on the social media could expose fasting Muslims to naked pictures which is prohibited. Read More: http://www.post-nigeria.com/stay-away-from-social-media-platforms-islamic-cleric/
PoliticsNigerians Fault Buhari Jetting Round The World As Nigeria Boils by salterswan(op): 1:51pm On Jun 27, 2015
Barack Obama, President of the United States of America, USA, has extended an invitation to President Muhammadu Buhari to visit the White House on July 20 for discussions pertaining corporation between both countries.

This meeting would be President Buhari’s 7th foreign trip away from Nigeria. He has accepted invitations to visit Cameroun immediately after the Ramadan fast, coupled with his visits to South Africa, United Kingdom, Germany, Chad and Niger republic.

As many anticipate the dividends of “change” President Buhari promised, Nigerians are left to ponder on the direct benefits such trips would bring to their lives.

As the nation continues to grapple with consistent attacks from Boko Haram in the North-east, a struggling economy and National Assembly controversies, President Buhari’s priority is directed at foreign trips in the midst of these challenges.

What is highly questionable is if the solutions to Nigeria’s challenges lie outside the shores of the country.

One wonders if this is the promised “parallel government” viz; dividing the nation’s legislature President Buhari’s campaign Manager, Rotimi Amaechi promised. The nation is now embalmed in crisis which needs the President’s urgent attention before he attends to any foreign trips or as they say “putting his house in order.”

One wonders if he has been informed about the emergence of a new sect “Yanlabaiku” in Kebbi preaching against western education. Read More: http://www.post-nigeria.com/nigerians-fault-buhari-jetting-round-the-world-as-nigeria-boils/
BusinessBVN Exercise: How About Those In The Diaspora? – Customers Ask CBN by salterswan(op): 2:40pm On Jun 24, 2015
Following the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, fixing July 30, 2015 as the deadline for enrolment in the ongoing Bank Verification exercise it has in collaboration with all Nigerian banks introduced the Bank Verification Number, BVN, as a unique identification number for all bank customers.

The BVN according to the CBN is part of the overall strategy of ensuring effectiveness of Know Your Customer, KYC, principles which gives each customer a unique identity across the Nigerian banking industry.

As the deadline approaches, many bank customers are aloof regarding CBN’s modalities for enrolling other customers abroad.

This fear has been expressed by a customer in Markurdi, who stated that the CBN has not made adequate plans for the sick, old and those aboard.

“If only they will use the data gathered to forestall bank fraud, it will not be a futile effort, but how will they capture the aged, those on sick bed and those in the Diaspora?’’

Rose Otu, a Guaranty Trust Bank, GTB, customer also added that she thought the last minute registration would not be as time consuming because most people would have captured.

Music/RadioWorld Music Day: Celebrating Nigerian Music Over The Decades by salterswan(op): 9:34am On Jun 22, 2015
Music, from the earliest times has served to influence emotional reactions in humans either therapeutically or as pure entertainment.

Over the centuries, music has changed and evolved conforming to existing trends and bridging cultural divides globally.
To celebrate the dynamism and reach of music, Make Music Day, more popularly referred to as World Music Day was born in France, 1982 to encourage continued inclusion in the joys and art of music by having musicians from all crops of life come together to learn and perform annually.

This year, we be celebrate World Music Day by acknowledging the dynamism, evolution and influences of Nigerian Music.

Over the years, Nigerian Music has evolved so much so that it has gained international acclaim. From its unique music styles spanning Afrobeat, Juju, Fuji, Highlife, to the other more generic styles such as Reggae, Hip-Hop and Pop and Soul infused with a healthy dose of the Nigerian flavour, Nigerians have come to reckon with the profound and far reaching impact of their music especially on the African continent.

The 1960s and ’70s
This period saw Nigerian music begin to introduce new instruments and techniques, including electric instruments imported from the United States and Europe. Renowned musical artiste, IK Dairo was known to infuse elements of Western music styles such as Rock N’ Roll, Soul and Funk into his Juju music adding to its undeniable appeal.

Although more trado-cultural forms of music were still widespread, more popular styles such as highlife and jùjú were at the top of the Nigerian charts in the ’60s.

In the more traditional genre, the likes of Apala’s Haruna Ishola was becoming one of the country’s biggest stars and Hausa Dan Maraya, was so well known that he was brought to the battlefield during the 1967 Nigerian Civil War to lift the morale of the federal troops.

Prince Nico Mbarga’s “Sweet Mother” was a pan-African hit that sold more than 13 million copies, an African record at the time.

SportsHas The NFF Finally Gotten Rid Of Keshi? by salterswan(op): 9:21am On Jun 22, 2015
Confusion has set in as yet another chain of tumultuous events has played out with Nigerian football Federation, NFF, and the Super Eagles coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi.

Keshi has only enjoyed a “forced” peace with the NFF from the inception of his second reign as the Eagles handler and doubts remain over his happiness at the job.

There seems to be a strained relationship between him and his employers.

Recently crisis was temporarily resolved after Keshi stayed several months without a job, and the Eagles without a proper coach leaving Nigerian football to suffer awkwardly.

This almost forced Keshi to rule himself out of a return as Nigeria coach, after losing patience with the Glass House having run out of his initial contract on June 30 2014 without a renewal and agreement.

Now the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF has seized the freedom of the coach from selecting his choice of players, imposing a Technical Director, Amodu Shaibu and the technical study group to supervise his functions.

According to the NFF President, “Keshi will still have his input (in the team). The only people who are not really working well now are the technical study group because it is a process. He doesn’t have the liberty anymore to say he wants to bring in players from places.

“We must look at all the players (he invites from now on) and it must go through the technical department and Amodu will certainly make a comment.
“And like I told him, Shuaibu Amodu, if anything happens we are not going to hold Keshi responsible but we are going to hold you responsible because you are a part of it. And we made him to understand that and he said ‘yes sir.’

“So if you say you want to be Keshi’s friend – we are not fighting anybody – or you want to compromise but you are the technical director and we are going to hold you responsible. And he said ‘yes.’ So he is very strong and is not just a passing technical director.”

This development is however followed by several reactions as many think it’s a way of pushing Keshi out of the job, with some claiming the development is not being practiced in any part of the world.

PoliticsBuhari Calling Boko Haram “our Brothers”, Just Insensitive – Nigerians by salterswan(op): 6:43pm On Jun 19, 2015
Many Nigerian have raised concerns over President Muhammadu Buhari’s Ramadan message, where he referred to the Boko Haram militants as “brothers.”

During his message, he appealed to the perpetrators of violence and destruction in the name of Islam all over the world, to desist from tarnishing the name of the religion.

“As we make collective efforts to bring to a permanent end the menace of the Boko Haram in the Lake Chad basin countries, let me use this auspicious occasion to appeal to our misguided brothers to drop their arms, embrace peace and seek a better understanding of Islam during this Holy period and beyond,” he said.
Many Nigerian on social media, have opined that referring to Boko Haram, a notorious extremist sect, that has killed some 15, 000 Nigerians, injured and kidnapped thousands, and left millions displaced, as “our brothers” by President Buhari was very insensitive and a tad careless.

Dr. Katchi Ononuju a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chieftain who first spoke to the African Independent Television, AIT, correspondents and later to Post Nigeria authoritatively stated that Buhari had a lot to explain as the APC was making frantic efforts to give the President a soft landing on the matter.

According to Ononuju; “An e-mail which emanated from the office of the President is set to declare almost a billion Naira in assets.

“This is a major reason why the President has decided not to declare his assets because the APC is hiding under the pretense that Buhari is broke and could not pay for his presidential form.”
He went ahead to state that the National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed and the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai called him via telephone pleading with him not to unravel the mystery behind the secret declaration of assets by President Buhari as against his earlier electoral promise.

HealthRamadan: Patients With This Kind Of Diabetes Should Not Fast – Medical Experts by salterswan(op): 5:01pm On Jun 19, 2015
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a time when Muslims worldwide abstain from eating, drinking, smoking or engaging in sexual intercourse from the period of dawn to dusk. Muslims are expected to focus on prayers, giving charity, and religious devotion amongst others.

Historically, it commemorates when the Quran’s (Muslim religious book) first verses were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon him). The goal of Ramadan is the attainment of piety and righteousness. It derives its legality from chapter 2 verse 183 of the Quran which states {“O’ you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may achieve Taqwaa (righteousness, God-fearing)”}.
As Muslims kick off preparations for the spiritual period, latest figures from the World Health Organization, WHO, and the International Diabetes Federation, IDF, have indicated a rise in the prevalence of Diabetes in Nigeria. According to an IDF 2013 report, Nigeria has the highest number of people with diabetes in Africa, with 3.9 million cases and 4.9% national prevalence rate.

The rising prevalence of Diabetes in Nigeria has been attributed, by medical experts, to poor lifestyle of the people.

The experts equally counseled that people should regularly monitor their health through medical check-up for early detection of the disease.

Medical experts have a similar consensus on the health risk when a diabetic engages in fasting. Hence, what is preponderant in the medical books states that; Type 1 diabetics whose bodies don’t make the blood sugar regulating hormone insulin should not fast. For many Type 2 diabetics, or those whose bodies don’t make enough insulin, the no-fasting recommendation also applies.

Major symptoms diabetic patients could encounter if they go ahead with the fasting would be complications such as:

PoliticsRe: NASS Leadership: Again, Tinubu Tears Into Buhari, Atiku by salterswan: 9:31am On Jun 16, 2015
Tinubu, who is the owner of The Nation newspaper, has been known to use its columnists and editorial staff to air his opinions about national issues.

He insinuated that Buhari perhaps encouraged the rebellion that took place in the NASS leadership saga that saw the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate President and Honourable Yakubu Dogara as Speaker, House of Representatives, candidates that were not chosen by the APC.

Tinubu also accused Buhari of further encouraging the rebellion in the party, with the statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, which said it “somewhat” served the higher purpose of democracy.

“On the meeting the party scheduled, we learned that Buhari’s advance party was at the venue, but he did not come. Why not? Shehu said he was about to come when the fait accompli of Saraki’s victory occurred. Was that not enough reason for the president to express open disavowals of condemnation rather than a tame Channels interview?

Tinubu also tore into Atiku, who had openly showed his support for Senator Saraki, even prior to his emergence, accusing him of lacking “moral grace.”

He said Atiku was a bitter man, who due to the fact that he lost the APC presidential primaries to Buhari, championed the rebellion in the party. He described Atiku as “a restless man of ambition, but little vision.”

“The peripatetic harlot of politics who sways right and left simultaneously, may be smacking his lips, but he is no noble man of this era,...

Exclusive: President who owns 150 cows, set to declare N879 million in assets

Following the heightened criticism against President Muhammadu Buhari’s secret declaration of assets as against his campaign promise to make public his assets, reports have come to light to reveal that Buhari who claimed to be unable to buy the March 28 Presidential form is set to declare an estimated N879 million in assets.

e stated that the APC was secretly sending copies of the the President’s asset declaration, to strong critics of his secret declaration.

President Buhari who claimed to be “broke”, took a bank loan of N27 million to purchase the APC presidential nomination form to contest the 2015 general election.

Buhari had lamented the high cost of the nomination form, but said that he was fired by his ambition to procure a bank loan, through the assistance of an unnamed bank Chairman.

The ex-military dictator stated that it took the understanding of his bankers in Kaduna and Abuja to raise the money.

“It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be put down as in the case of ladies and the disabled that intend to participate. I always looked left and right in our meetings but I could not read sympathy, so I kept my trap shut.
“But I felt heavily sorry for myself because I don’t want to go and ask somebody to pay for my nomination forms, because I always try to pay myself, at least for the nomination.

“N27 million is a big sum, thankfully I have a personal relationship with the manager of my bank in Kaduna and early this morning, I put an early call (and) I told him that very soon the forms are coming, so, whether I am on red, or green or even black please honour it, otherwise I may lose the nomination,” Buhari had stated.

Before the last general election, Buhari tactically revealed his assets “I have at least one million Naira in my bank, having paid N5.5 million to pick my form from my party.

‘’I have around 150 cattle because I am never comfortable without cows. I have a house each in Kaduna, Kano, and Daura which I borrowed money to build. I never had a foreign account since I finished my courses in the USA, India and the UK. I never owned any property outside Nigeria, never.”
