I appreciate the fact that u think something is wrong. if u ask me I think u r too young to av Msc as an inexperienced graduate. Ordinarily the huge finance used to get the so-called Msc would av been used to adequately prepare you for your dream job. imagine you investing close to 500k in job training and skills, gathering relevant professional certificate in your field and paying for internship (if need be) in multinational coys would av been a plus. anyway sha u can tell ur parent to give u some plots of lands( I presumed u r from a wealthy home @ 24 Msc) to cultivate |
I had this conversation recently with someone and we analyzed this expression "The Sky is young". Permit me to share our analysis cos u may av being discouraged in recent time but need that push of encouragement First the expression isn't idiomatic but a figure of speech: Both metaphor & Personification. B4 we further analyze what it meant let me bring to ur notice that our generation compared to our parents is far better of because 30yrs+ ago when our parents settled for marriage n life they were practically peasant. Technologies n developments as we av it today was nothing to write about as at then yet our parents generation were able to acquire a lot of this present day through hard work n favour. If they did acquire n were better of from where they started then how much more Is expected from u n I generation. Hence the sky is so young. It's too early to conclude or blame anything or anybody around u. The word "sky" is a symbol that represent a climax or peak of something n to some, It may b d beginning of another journey. While young symbolizes something that had d ability to grow or for growth The sky is young as u rightly said symbolizes hope n may also b doom depending on how the outcome of life unfolds. But for us d children of God it symbol can only b good cos God's plan for our tomorrow is good n not evil n to give us an expected end which we desired (I believe that no rightful thinking Christian wud desire evil of himself or herself) To drive my point the clause "Sky is young" explains that tomorrow is always ahead of today n is liable to modify d present challenges if any. Also it foretell us that we should always look out for d brighter side of life as a coin with two side, stick to d head n not d tail. Sequel to this, we shouldn't be discouraged because the 'end always justify the means' for if we are hard working n diligent, we shall reap a bigger n a better harvest..... Feel free to Add yours |

Back then when the dignity and pride of womanhood was something worth nurturing. Nevertheless, a lot has lost the values that comes with it on a platter of foolishness. While others have slim reasons that warrant such lose, the rest - which happens to be the greater populace bears no reasons for their actions, not even regret. Each day I ponder why the transit decay of morals amongst our mothers of tomorrow. However, its easier for a camel to pass the eye of a needle than a girl in her mid-20's still virtuous. I wonder! Today's girls practice what I call "Street-whorish". Amidst this,it is only fair to accost men as being the reason for this menace but I disagree. Why blame Men for an action which u instigated? Why wear revealing apparels just to express beauty? No one born of a woman can deny the beauty bestow in every woman. Then why show it 'freely'. It took something for you as a woman to be made. It cost God something of Adam to make you. Now u offer it to every dick and harry that comes by. The original plan of God was for u to honor ur husband with that virtue which every other men desire, that which other men is willing to live or die getting... I may not be worthy to say this to you but as long as you do read this, and with the pricking of heart, do make Amend. That lost virtue can still be gotten if you wud STOP and make amend NOW! |
Was just Thinking and come to concluding why can't our HND be branded/Package to "Associate Degree"? It won't be a Bad idea. Will it? Since everybody still sees it as an advanced diploma. Is it because the word 'diploma' is attached to it rather than degree? |
One Prophet just gave his midweek prophecy...... {There shall be no handover in Nigeria on May 28th, 29th or whatever} And this man is insisting that he saw it already. Wow!!! Now I start my own. IF FINALLY THERE IS A HANDOVER, SHALL WE NOT ARREST THIS MAN AND JAIL HIM FOR MAKING RECKLESS STATEMENT ??Lawyers in the house, to what extent can freedom of speech be tolerated ![]() |
BETWEEN EXAM And HEALTH. •Like thunder it strikes at a time most stringent. when the ball loses grip of the striker. •It caught me off guide. feasted my strength without guild left scars of guise. •Amidst this,I was bestowed with Love from a female who stood the storm while it rains. •As time lingers, my health recovers, she tickers. •Though I can't undo mere oversight but at least the cloud is weed-freeze. It's quite unfortunate that the ways and manners in which we as Nigerians imitate/import bad culture to ourselves is very alarming and demeaning. Shocked is barely an understatement for the rate at which both young and old patronizes the "culture of Tatoo". These days, some even have it in places hidden in their body, likely to be in their private. More obnoxious is when the people whom you have high moral pedigree for has taken to this Evil deed. Sad is when these set of people comes to the house of God, spreading such practice amongst the body of Christ. They even hold certain key positions and can be workers, leaders and even Pastors. I don't want to sound too spiritual, but when many unbelievers is able to see the wrongs in it and in it professions, then how much more can it be viewed by the believers or God himself? Brethren i beseech you not to advance the temple of the Devil in your body. You are wonderfully and specially made. No addition or piercing of the body is needed, else God would have created you with such additions. Desist and flee from people who sits to encourage such culture/practice and uphold what is just so that your dreams and aims in life according to God's will be done. (C) All Rights Reserved |

NOT BY GRADE But KNOWLEDGE Over the years the tent of excellence is most times misplaced, fractured priority and bigoted in a society as ours. It is left unattended and abused. The power of success built round sediments. An action of misguided citizenry from an inept and melodramatic economy. As a teenager in a class, the enthusiasm to learn amidst unfavourable conditions is shared. Our attendance are no longer obligatory and conditions that are not inherent accumulate from failed governances. The tools of learning are not available yet we are compiled to pass in flying colours. How dignifying can it be? They turned us magicians overnight, comparing we to Microsoft. Even, Microsoft is defective of any information not uploaded. They force us and our brains to adopt a system only who knows where? A system referred to as the short route to excellence. A system by all means not comfortable but highly rewarding in a least time expected. They call it "LA Cram LA Pour" which is socially and academically accepted. Its more damaging when lecturers and teachers require their students and pupils to give back exactly what was taught in class. Hence, creating no room for knowledge to thrive as an inherent ability of ones modifications. Many a time I ask why adopt a system whose susceptibility to loss is very high. It no more the reserve that keeps the body and it weighs off immediately is used. Excellence is not an attempt but a conservation. Rather, it should be conserved rigidly to prove one's onion. However, the path to knowledge is one which many is not willing to take because of it constraints. Many students is never ready to learn the right way. They are so entangled to the kind of grade they seek and not what keeps the grade valid or relevant. The academia makes them compete for grade and not knowledge. Usually, one thinks that all prospective first class or distinction graduates can defend their worth, however, these days, it's a bluff. For instance, a jambite who mystically pulls a score of 357 and was given scholarship to read in one of the country's finest federal university but wasn't able to stand up to such opportunity. Eventually the academic populace was dazed and left dilemmatic as why the lad was redrawn from the school. Ordinarily one thinks it's not possible yet he was proofed otherwise. Above sentiments, when a student graduates, what's actually tested is her knowledge and not necessarily her grade. Fine; she finished with a third class degree but her course knowledge hierarchically surpasses that of a first class graduate who often times memorize words for words with little or no attention to knowledge just to spearhead his class. Unfortunately, employers of labour mostly are not interested in transcribing grade to performance because they believe its inherent of such clime even though it stated in the job description. While its not possible to eat one's cake and have it; you can have it and then eat it. Apparently, there is no boundary limiting one from having both the knowledge and the grade. To be relevant, a little here and there makes the difference. One should not be incalculable of his competence level, that is, be "knowledgeably gradecious". Written by: Obainoscope |
Echoes of Joy in waiting The believed barriers perceived Preparation keen and pessimism halved Worth perfected The mere consideration of failing The time pending The years spent But never provide a repeat So hard the lips tell No mouth can envisage How inevitable it maybe yet another year For in demand, supply is truncated We all long for higher education We all want to stand tall In it, Future is seen beautiful Yet not all is equipped for convocation Time lingers Trials profited Pushed to dwell among kings But fails to pick his shoes Instead, the society crop our benefits They cause eclipse of our studies Creating a tomorrow only within the walls Still starve us of life outside Making us regret the basket years while our mates reflect the future. written by: Obainoscope |

What are the worst job search mistakes you can make? Some are major mistakes that can halt your job search before it even gets going. Others are small mistakes that, given a competitive job market, can be enough to knock you out of contention for a job. Be sure to avoid the top job search mistakes, so you're in the best position to effectively find a new job. 1. Apply for Any Job There isn't any point wasting your time applying for jobs that you're not qualified for. It's a waste of time, energy, and effort. Instead, take the time to focus your job search and apply to jobs that are a match for your skills and experience. Then target your resume and cover letter to show the hiring manager why you're qualified at first glance. 2. Botch the Interview What shouldn't you do when interviewing? Here are a selection of blunders, mistakes and errors a candidate for employment can make. Spend time preparing to interview so these don't happen to you! 3. Don't Check for Typos Check your resume, your cover letter, and every single email you send for grammar and spelling - even if it's just a quick email or LinkedIn message to a networking contact. Then do it again. Use full sentences and paragraphs, regardless of how you are communicating. Writing job search correspondence like you are texting is a surefire way to knock yourself out of the running for a job. 4. Don't Organize Your Job Search Given how much email most of us get, it's really easy to miss a message or to forget to follow up in a timely manner. Taking a few minutes to make a list of everything you're going to do to job search is a great way to get your job hunt off to a good start. There are free tools you can use to organize and track of all your job search activities. Take advantage of them and stay on top of your job search. 5. Don't Have an Online Presence Most companies that are seriously interested in hiring you are going to use Google to find out as much as possible about you. If you don't take the time to create an online presence, you will come up short when measured against candidates who have taken the time to build one. At the minimum, you should have a LinkedIn Profile that's complete with your work history and some recommendations. 6. Fail to Research the Company When you go into a job interview without having researched the company, you're not going to have a clue about what the company's goals are, how you can fit into the organization, and what you can offer the company. When you take the time to research companies, you will be able to find out everything you need to know about a company before you sit down for an interview. In addition, you will be a well- prepared candidate for the job. 7. Focus Only on Posted Jobs Do you have a list of companies you would like to work for? If you do, use the Internet to discover information about the company, review open positions, and find connections to help you apply for jobs that may not have been advertised yet. If not, get started on tapping the hidden job market, which are the jobs that aren't advertised. A large number of jobs are never posted online and you'll have an edge if you can use a connection to help you find and apply for them. 8. Have a Negative Attitude Tired, discouraged, feeling like you'll never find a job? Did you hate your last job? Was your boss a jerk? Keep it to yourself, or at least to yourself and your friends and family. Despite how hard it can be, it's important to stay positive when communicating with networking contacts, recruiters, and hiring managers. Nobody likes a complainer, even if your complaints are legitimate. So, do your best to come across as positive, especially when you're interviewing. 9. Hound the Hiring Manager Nobody likes being bugged, especially hiring managers who are juggling lots of job openings, interviews, and candidates. It is appropriate to follow up, and a thank you note can help enhance your candidacy, however, it's also important to follow up appropriately and be patient. The hiring process can take a while and annoying the hiring manager isn't going to get you hired any faster. 10. Ignore Job Search Do's and Don'ts Every part of what you do when you job search, including looking for job postings, writing cover letters, dressing for an interview, sending a thank you note, job searching (or not) from work, and using social media can make - or break - your job search. Bonus: Skip Networking Even though job search networking is one of the most successful ways to find a new job, it can sound intimidating and sometimes seems a little bit scary. It doesn't have to be. It also can be time consuming, but it doesn't have to take all day. If you build a network a little at a time, it will be there when you need it. Networking is one of the most important parts of job searching, so don't skip it. www.jobsearch.about.com/od/findajob/tp/jobsearchmistakes.htm |

When you decide to launch a job search, chances are one of the first things you'll do is write or update your resume. But what about your cover letter? Before a hiring manager even glances at your resume, he or she will assess your cover letter and form an impression of you and your qualifications. A well-written cover letter can earn you a call for an interview, so it's important to take this document seriously. For many administrative job seekers, however, cover letters are an afterthought and are quickly written at the last minute; others don't even bother to include them, assuming their resumes will speak for themselves. Following are some cover letter mistakes to avoid: 1. Failing to personalize: Avoid saying, "Dear Sir or Madam" and take the initiative to find out the appropriate contact name. Often a quick phone call to the company can help you fill in the blank. You'll show that you're resourceful and truly interested in the job. 2. Starting off weak: Your opening paragraph should capture the reader's attention. So, rather than simply saying, "I am applying for the receptionist position," follow up with, "Your need for an experienced professional is a good match for my five years of experience in publishing and extensive background as a receptionist. "If you've been referred to the hiring manager, be sure to point out the mutual contact in your lead. This may encourage the person to read further. 3. Making it too short/long: E-mailed cover letters should be included within the body of the e-mail and be limited to two paragraphs, while those faxed or mailed should be three to five paragraphs. 4. Being generic: Don't send the same cover letter to all companies. Take the time to do some basic research of prospective employers so you can customize them. In a survey by our company, only 44 percent of executives polled said it's common for applicants to use their cover letters to show they've learned more about the job; so if you make the effort, you'll already be ahead of half your competition. 5. Rehashing the resume: Instead, focus on aspects of your background that relate directly to the job opportunity and note any relevant accomplishments, training, classes or certifications. The cover letter also allows you to explain anything that might be unclear or questionable on your resume, such as a gap in employment or change in career paths. 6. Underselling your talents: Give hiring managers a compelling reason to call you in for an interview. Instead of saying you have strong communication skills, provide examples: "I recently led a training session on a new database application and received significant praise for my ability to relay complex information to a non-tech-oriented audience." 7. Trying to be witty or humorous: This can backfire, so it's best to stick with a business letter format, even with e-mailed cover letters. A professional yet conversational tone and salutations such as "Mr." and "Ms." will help you be taken seriously. 8. Focusing too much on yourself: While you want to sell your qualifications, don't forget to explain how you would add value to the company. If your cover letter is dominated with "I," chances are you need to focus more of your content on the prospective employer. 9. Omitting contact information: It's easy for cover letters and resumes to become separated, so make sure hiring managers can reach you should they only have your cover letter. Close your letter by mentioning that you'll call the individual soon to follow up and include a current phone number and e-mail address where you can be reached should the person want to contact you first. 10. Failing to proofread. As qualified as you may be for the opening, you're likely to fall out of contention if your cover letter is full of typos, misspellings and grammatical errors. Ask friends and family to review your document to make sure there are no mistakes. The cover letter is your chance to give employers a sense of who you are and what you can do for their organizations, encouraging readers to look at your resume. Remember that appearances count, so make sure your cover letter is in a simple font, uses appropriate paragraph breaks and is easy to read. The right impression will allow you to move on in the hiring process. www.careerbuilder.com/article/cb-928-cover-letters-resumes-10-common-cover-letter-mistakes-to-avoid/ |
Be honest. A man is going on a trip and the wife is helping him to pack his clothes. When he was about to leave his wife handed him a box of CONDOMS and said "Honey, take these with you in case of temptations".. With a broad smile he said,''Thanks honey you are the best''. When he got into his car, the wife came running, Honey give me some, who knows I might also be tempted. If you were the man, what would you do? |

Recently I stumbled a website through a friend who is yet to make any transaction with or through them. From their website, they claimed to be an intermediary for Nigerians who want to shop from any US & UK online stores & gets their goods delivered to them here. I'm very skeptical & cautious about shopping online generally but am tempted to think otherwise, particularly when I can shop "Original" things with high quality assurance as against what we often have in Nigeria markets or stores. Pls, are there success stories or testimonies from Nigerians who had transactions with the said organization? |

Somebody will still tell me that NAFDAC is still working and I start wondering: FOR WHICH AREA- FOR YOUR AREA ONLY? Right from the time Dora Akunyili left NAFDAC, that gigantic all important agency of government went back to the pitiable standard of SON (Standard Organisation of Nigeria) Agency under whose nose our country became a dumping ground for all categories of junk. Not even one importer has gone to jail. Everything is possible here because government agencies are sleeping, all preparing for permanent next election. On that note I wish to advise my people. Guys in Nigeria, beware! Because the way Nigerian girls are bleaching these days (Bleaching because we have weak officers implementing the rules on the importation of chemicals)....you just might end up dating your ex again without knowing she is the same person. Nigerians see Ghana as a very different place compared to their home country. Despite striking differences between Nigeria and Ghana and equally a lot of similarities that both Ghana and Nigeria share together. The two countries continue to treat each other with contempt. When will Ghana and Nigeria relations be properly managed without crisis? It appears to me that there is more misunderstanding for the two than there is desire to even appreciate each other. Recently Ghana is beginning to experience electricity challenges and the generator market is booming. It appears that while Nigeria is coming out from bad situations Ghana is going into her own. Also the Ghana oil has not even made any significant impact in the life and economy of the people. This year alone the government has increased fuel pump cost without control and proper reasoning. This decision has generated more poverty for the people because while salary remains stagnant, transportation and cost of food has jumped up badly. Despite all the challenges Ghana is facing, A Nigerian has revealed what he hates about Ghana. www.adentan.com/what-a-nigerian-hates-about-ghana/ |
