Marking scheme gives the lecturer guidelines and makes him more objective.the idea of marking scheme favours and protects the students so that the lecturer will not abuse his power and fail the student for whatever reason.after the lecturer marks the students paper and grades him in accordance to each mark allocated for a question,he still submits it to the course coordinator who in turn submits it to the hod.the hod checks and verifies the lecturer was NOT too strict WITH the marking or to loose with the marking and in cases where THE student wrote beyond whatever the lecturer taught and was right,he gets all the marks. So after the hod sees the lecturer is fair,he forwards the marking scheme to the dean who also checks it and then forwards it to the Senate,where they sit over the result and now give final approval for it to be released Mind you the marking scheme is usually made by the lecturers IN ACCORDANCE TO WHAT HE HAS TAUGHT THE STUDENT.the marking scheme doesn't go beyond his course outline.basically it's a mutual responsibility thing and it follows a particular hierarchy. If there was no marking scheme,the student is likely to be at the receiving end.it's the marking scheme that checks the powers of the lecturer 3 Likes |

In met a woman conductor like this one in the story in oshodi.very strong woman.I pitied the way she tried to struggle to collect money and the ones that will be reluctant to pay and then she will have to beg and pacify them.but fortunately when she saw some men wanted to take advantage of her,there was a man (fellow conductor) who escorted her and ensured no one bullied her because she also had a small frame not was obvious she just started the trade because she was quite civil which is unusual of a Lagos conductor.I had to leave my change for her sef Strong women in Lagos keep doing your thing.in fact I'll rather give a woman extra MONEY outside our agreed transaction than to give one naira to a female beggar sitting on the streets waiting for someone to work and bring money for her while using her children as excuse for poverty and laziness. Hustling in Lagos is no joke,talk more of a woman hustling on the dangerous streets of Lagos filled with brutish,vile and disgusting people 4 Likes |

When you are at work forget sentiments or the respect card I'm not saying YOU should TREAT YOUr subordinates rudely but with the way you are going,if they know you are soft or have consideration for their age,they won't do what they're supposed to do and then THEY will begin to manipulate and disrespect you.very soon they'll become uncontrollable and by the time you try to call them to order,they'll claim you're arrogant,rude and proud.be firm.don't take nonsense,be professional and remind them they're adults hence THEY need to respect themselves because you wouldn't want a situation where you will embarrass anybody.trust me the fear of embarrassment Will make them comport themselves and comply One of my subordinates is way older than all of us.infact she's my mom's mate but I STILL CAll her by her first name unfortunately she's the one that misbehaves the most.I have told them when we're in a meeting please put your phone on silent or vibration.she's the ONE that her phone will ring loud,shes the one that will come late to work with the excuse of hold up today,her daughter was sick etc,she's the one that will be sleeping during work hours or eating when she's not supposed to be eating,she's the one that will stain the office document with beans etc It's her that will be coming to work looking disorganized and improperly dressed.she won't adjust her bra well,her underskirt will be longer that her skirt etc.I've reprimanded her several times till I had enough of her and gave her query She ran to a friend of mine that one pleaded on her behalf but now she has changed a bit sha 5 Likes 1 Share |
