Damini Ogulu, Nigerian Afrofusion artiste better known as Burna Boy, says he can go shirtless if he sees someone wearing the same shirt he is wearing at an event.

In an interview with Africa’s Finest, a fashion magazine by Guaranty Trust Bank, the ‘Ye’ singer said he is already working on his own fashion brand.

I try to do what makes me feel like I’m swaggy, it could be a named brand or not. It just has to make me feel good. It just has to be different. For me, if it’s not different, then I don’t feel good,” he responded when asked to describe his style.

I could go somewhere wearing a shirt, and if I see someone wearing the same shirt, I’ll take it off and just be shirtless!

I’m working on it as we speak. It’s my ‘merch’ from my tours but the design is really giving out what I would wear. If I were to wear what I’m wearing right now, It would be all Burna Boy, it would be all my design. That’s basically it! It would be my designs on clothes that I like. I’d describe it as ‘Reckless & Sweet’. Listing designers he would love to collaborate with, the artiste who says his love for comic books inspired his stage name, mentioned Virgil Abloh, Off-white and Louis Vuitton.

Speaking on the inspiration behind his music genre, Burna Boy said: I had a lot of musical influence growing up, from my grandfather’s highlife and afrobeat collection to my dad who gave me my first reggae CD. That’s why I call my genre Afro-Fusion, it’s a concoction of different elements of sound.

The organised labour has called off its industrial action originally scheduled to begin at 12am on Tuesday in the final lap of its agitation for the raising of the national minimum wage from N18,000 to N30,000.

Ayuba Wabba, National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), made the announcement in Abuja very late on Monday night — minutes before the industrial action was to kick off — after the second leg of the marathon meeting of the tripartite committee constituted by the Federal Government to decide a new national minimum wage. "The tripartite negotiating committee, as rightly put by the chairperson, has, this period, concluded its assignment; agreements have been reached, and also documents have been signed," Wabba said. "The report will be submitted to Mr. President today by 4:15pm. Therefore, organised labour, we want to use this medium to thank all the tripartite partners for their understanding, and importantly for concluding this important national assignment. “And having reached this position, and also the fact that the assignment has been concluded, the organised labour also decided that the proposed strike action is hereby suspended.”
Ama Pepple, Chairman of the committee, added: “I am happy to report to you that we have concluded our assignment and we will submit our report to the President by 4.15pm on Tuesday. “We will reveal the figure at the presentation.” Neither party disclosed to the media exactly what agreement had been reached.

The suspected killers of Apostle Blessed Kelechukwu Iwuanyanwu, the founder of "Wind Of Glory International, umuahia, Abia state, his Assistant pastor and women leader, have been apprehended.

Apostle Iwuanyanwu was allegedly killed, on Saturday, October 20, 2019, by his childhood friend, an Evangelist known as Prosper Peter Okwandu (on yellow trouser with black and white polo) and his accomplices.

The police revealed that the suspected were arrested, following discrete investigation, weeks after the corpses of the deceased were discovered at the pastor’s residence in Abia State.

Properties belonging to the late Pastor, including his car, phones and clothes, were recovered from the killers. The motivation behind the killing remains unknown for now.

A father called off the wedding of his daughter, Oluwaseun Adugbe, to his fiancée, Tunji Curtis, a few hours to the commencement of the ceremony, yesterday, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Tribune reports.

Mr. Adugbe, from Edo State, announced that the wedding would no longer hold and directed her daughter to return all the goodies brought by the groom’s family to them, immediately, without giving any reason.

Members of the groom’s family, who had arrived from Lagos in the early hours of Saturday, were said to have been left in shock as no prior notice was given.

The bride’s dad insisted that no marriage would hold in his house and that he would not be a party to the union.

According to Tribune, Tunji and Seun have been dating for about five years and their relationship has produced a 4-yr-old child

Giving likely reasons for the cancellation, Tunji’s family said Seun’s dad had accused Tunji of failing to honour a meeting with other members of the family on Friday, a development which left them with no option but to cancel the wedding.

According to Tunji, he arrived in Ibadan on Friday morning and was asked by the bride’s father to come for what he described as a crucial meeting with other members of the family, but failed to meet up with the 1p.m appointment due to other engagements.

He claimed that he arrived late at his fiancée’s house on Friday, but no one told him the wedding had been cancelled as preparations for the next day had begun.

He claimed that he had no problem with his fiancée’s father and could not understand why such a drastic action would be taken without his being informed. .

Months after appointing its first minister for loneliness, Britain named a minister for suicide prevention as part of a new push to tackle mental health issues.

Prime Minister Theresa May, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of the health minister Jackie Doyle-Price to the new role. .

She will lead government efforts to cut the number of suicides and overcome the stigma that prevents people with mental health problems from seeking help.
