At ayoola.. Who is the right person to contact for deferment at UWO? I know you have gone try this process.. Should it be once supervisor, graduate studies or department? Most things in UWO are decided on it the department I am aware. But confused at who I should contact if it comes to that??
Ayoola03:
Cic will surely get back to you before the resumption date. But in case it's few days to resumption say 4-5days and still no news, request for a Deferment asap coz by then, they will get back to you by requesting for new acceptance letter to proceed with the processing. Hope for the best. Cheers!

does this process also applies for Canadian student visa. because I think once the school admits you . there is no problem anymore
Join Canada student visa thread on Nairaland for best answer. The process is far more complicated than you think. getting admission is just one thing, going for the right course in the admission that suit ur pursuit is another, then visa application is an entirely different ball game. All here should prepare to be absolutely truthful about their applications too.

Interesting. Howmuch will flights go for if I may?

Berylstanz:
Another question

When can I book my flight.

Now that I have the approval?

Or

After I have collected my trv from vfs?
Book your flight ASAP.. We have a moniker here that is trusted to get members of this platform the cheapest flight tickets. It can be very expensive if you go searching on your own online I have learnt. Just call her and speak with her, then compare. She will guide you further. Be careful of booking connecting flights that will require a transit visa to stay for some hours in some countries they stop by. Just speak with her or any agent you wish.

BOOK IMMEDIATELY AND START MAKING ACCOMODATION ARRANGEMENT IN YOUR SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY.

Every single day that passes by without you booking your flight - most especially - risk you more cost on flight. Keeping asking questions too. Don't assume anying. Read up about Port of Entry document requirement on CIC website and know the kinds of documents they will want you to have before you will be issue a study permit. Get your bank account tokens and request they be opened too when you travel. Get your Malam ready to covert dollar for you just incase. This are arrangement we are making while we are looking up to God for our positive TRV approval.

Congrats once more sis!

Hi guys,

I am sort of new here although I sometimes check the thread for guidelines.

got my trv approved yesterday but I am presently in Enugu. Thinking about using a courier service to bring it down here but while going through the vfs website they said
"Applicants have to come in person for collection of documents or ""PAY FOR COURIER AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION""
Does it mean it's too late to use a courier service since I didn't pay for that when submitting ny application?
And if it's not too late, how do I pay for the service since it's stated on the site that payment has to be in cash at the cvac counter?
Bro, u will have to go to VAC office "in person" with the photocopy of your passport that VAC gave you to keep after you did your submission. That is the only way you can collect your passport. The new rule is that, if one does not pay for courier service when submitting, he can only collect his/her passport in person with the photocopy given to him. And you can't pay for dem to courier your passport if you didn't pay when submitting. Before travelling to collect it, be sure from VAC office that the passport is ready for pick-up first. This is very important.

As you are new here, it good you give us your profile and documents you submitted that led to your success so other can be inspired and learn from your experience.

Congrats buddy. Book your flight!

Hello house. Has any June applicant noted any change in his application status? E.g "We are reviewing your eligility" or have any June applicant gotten any Medical request if he didn't do upfront medicals? Kindly indicate the date of your application. Thanks.

When did you apply please?? Was it in June and was it paper route?

Be careful of lump deposite that are unaccountable and untraceable when boosting your account. Know that you will have to justify your income partly in the VO eyes. My 2 percent!!

Thanks alot for your reply. I have my 1st year tuition and living expenses. I'll see what i can do about raising funds to boost my account. Thank you.

Why are you screaming? (All capital letters). You can make words bold for emphasis, instead.

There are questions there that meet their criteria. Also, even if the questions are too specific, there are diplomatic ways they could answer that would give readers the general gist.
There is an archive of previous AMAs by previous government officials for reference; even Barack Obama did one during his tenure.

Keep in mind that they estimated they would be done answering by 4pm EDT (9pm WAT). It's about two hours to that time so what is their excuse?
Hi dear, I think there instructions were clear enough - as per the time they will reply some questions. Answering some questions take's time. Also, they know they stand to be quoted in future, hence, they have to be careful in selecting their words. Lets be patient with them. In the interim, here is one awesome question a Nigerian asked recently. It makes a lot of sense. Be kind to teach me how to bold things when you have some spare time. I really don't know how to do that poesy! Cheers my fellow UWO housemate. We shall argue and fight in canny Gods willing!!!

I've been refreshing my browser. None of the questions have been answered. Why host an AMA if they know they won't even bother. This is not a good sign.
Read inbetween the line house. They said all should ask their questions and they will answer as much as possible LATER. SO KEEP ASKING SENSITIVE NON SPECIFIC QUESTION RELATED WITH YOUR CASE FILE.

Prisscindy:
Hi everyone,

I am new here and have read quite well on the thread. I have some questions which I have tried to find possible answers to through the thread but want to be 100% sure to avoid waste of money, energy and time for a study permit when I get an admission. I'll be very glad if the gurus in the house help me.
1. I had a my Bsc in Biochemistry in naija and did Msc in Pharmaceutical Science in the uk. I applied for a PhD in Biochemistry in University of Victoria after talking to potential supervisors. They actually didn't reply and as a result I didn't get admission for Sept, 2017. After writing many supervisors and many of them said they were fixed up. I was discouraged and decided to do another Msc. This time in a course that requires no supervisor. Currently waiting for an admission from the University of Manitoba, Department of Disability Studies. I want to know if there would not be an issue about me doing a second Msc and having the intentions of going for a PhD after completion.

2. When I was in the uk, I got married and had a child there and came back with my baby before my visa expired in June 2016. My husband was also a student, Nigerian, he got to the uk 2014 a year before I got there. His school had an issue and their licence was revoked. He didn't get a refund from the school but was asked to find another school and pay another tuition fee which he couldn't afford and uk home office asked him to leave after 60days in 2015. In the long run, he overstayed but left after we had the baby in May 2016. I had my graduation this year in the uk, my baby and I attended while my husband was in Nigeria. Is there any column that asks about overstaying in any country for Canada visitor visa?

3. I have a little nephew of 8 from my late sister. I want to adopt him as I'm presently responsible for him. He lives with my husband and I. His father absconded and his family hardly come to see the boy. The adoption process is quite tedious and someone suggested I claim him as my child since we have the same surname (still using my father's surname). His birth certificate can't be found, so I'm in the process of getting another one at the local government. Is that advisable?

4. We intended to apply as a family when I get my admission because I read from the Canadian immigration website that it is possible like the uk tier 4 family visa. But after reading from the posts here I found out that we might be rejected. Can he apply for a visitor visa before my study permit application and I'll apply with the kids?

5. My husband has a registered company, has a job and presently has over #2million in his personal account. A newly built house. Has traveled to South Africa and Uk. Had been denied visa to the US before going to the Uk. Has an aged mum. He wants to go for vacation, does he need an invitation or he can go ahead with it? What are his chances?

6. My maternity leave ended last Dec., from uk. I have a letter to that effect. Funny enough, my visa had expired, I left but was still on leave. I am presently self employed. Make dresses but not registered. Small scale. How do I show family ties if I'm to apply with my two kids? Can I use my husband, if he applies and get a visa?

7. Can I have two sponsors for my study permit, my father and a family friend? Will my husband need to sponsor the kids?

Please I know questions are many and lengthy but if the gurus can spare me time to answer, I'll forever be glad. Thank you everyone.
Gurus in the house, personally, I am waiting for answers to this awesome moniker's case scenario!! It will serve as a reference for future applicants. Great Gurus, be detailed as possible. Cheers!

Hello House,

A quick shout out to all on this forum who help out with relevant and verified information.
My fellow TRV hopefuls, I'd advise that in addition to this forum, you follow CIC (now rebranded as IRCC) on Twitter. The value of hearing from the horse's mouth as well as being abreast of changes in the organisation cannot be stressed.

Their Twitter handle: @CitImmCanada
From the horses mouth, I perceive it might be to late for anyone to apply for September, 2017 session. See below tweet!

abestine:
from what i understand about medicals, there are two ways you can get it done - upfront or medical call
Upfront is the one you do before the submission of your application, on completion of the medicals, a document will be given to you to attach to the application you will submit, this document is what i think will inform the VO assessing your application that you've done medical and the result will be called for from the hospital where you did it.

Medical call
is the one you will be asked to go and do when the VO has assessed your application to the level of medical and find out there is no medical result available. a document will be sent to you from CIC which you will take to any recognized hospital of your choice.

so if your medical test does not fall in between these two categories, i think it is not valid... the more knowledgeable people here will throw more light... ire oo...
Patiently wait when u are called for medical, and prepare to do a fresh medical entirely. Candid advice. To avoid what happened to one of the moniker here that submitted a medical result he did some months before ago in his past application that was denied. And sadly, he got a new denial on grounds of not doing medicals. Just prepare to do a fresh medical when u get a medical email from CIC. Cheers!

Review of eligibility" is the last stage after that approval. For upfront medicals, background check starts immediately medical is passed. mine reads "we are processing your background check" background check takes time because it involves many things, I stand to be corrected.
Ohhh.. Was it previously "We do not need your background check" and has now changed to "We are processing your background check, we will send you a message if we need more information"??

Exactly same with mine, next we are processing your background check.
Vanod.. Have they started processing your background check yet? I think the next step will be "we have started reviewing your eligibility" am I wrong? Then "we are processing your background check" but sometimes they don't even check that one self.

I think it's at the discretion of the department to grant the UMGF. My department for instance doesn't require any special application for the UMGF asides ur application for admission. So I believe it's automatic once your profile is a perfect fit. My deadline was also January. What dept did you apply to?
Medical Rehabilitation Science MSc.

I am actually surprised he the UMGF funding. During application, manitoba deceived me that it is an automatic process to be added to the funding list, I head that one can only apply for it around november-december, and that it is closed by January of each year. Sadly I just applied for admission at that time. Can you please sherd some light on this UMGF funding stuff boss please??

Even beneath this page, there is a disclaimer clause that reads "the listings on this website have not been inspected by western nor confirm the accuracy of the information provided.it is therefore not recommended or endorsed by uwo. The school further adviced that "do not rent a place sight unseen.(you can read more on the page). Please beware! 419z are everywhr even in canny my bro was once a victim.
