1. My school starts end of August, hope i am not applying too late?
2. Aside my teaching career , I also do a networking business by the side and it has made my bank account heavy with inflows, outflows and lump sum deposits due to the nature of the business and the earnings that come with it. Hope this won't pose a challenge to me? Do I state the business in my SOP to explain the sources of the large deposits?

3. I have a sponsor with a closing balance of. 36m Naira and he paid 4.5m to my account to support my school fees and living expenses with a promise of paying more money into my account. I hope we are on track with this one?

Frankly speaking, August 2017, now maybe too late. No crime in trying but if you could defer, I did advice that.

For your networking stuff, my dear, u have to show very good evidence of the source of your income. Heavy flows with no liable justification may not be lump summing but may raise issues cos a teacher submitting e.g a salary of 30k now having transactions of 2million, were is the CAC doc. backing that business and proofs of fund source etc.

My advice, use another account of yours, let your sponsor transfer the money to it and submit just your pay slip. Don't mention networking stuff in your app. They may tag u as the famous "yahoo boys" going to Canada. And be sure they will check too.

So working as a sole source of sponsoring myself was never an idea. I can't be that foolish.

My dear @PureRuby, frankly, to convince this guy you have to pay the tuition fees completely, and have a letter from your bank to support your living expense. The earlier you do this, the better for you. Luckly for you, they have started reviewing your app. After submitting this evidences, you have 3 weeks to get their response like Canadianurse got his.

Think fast, act fast and live NDDC out of it. They are already aware of NDDC, but they don't care or respect Nigerian scholarships anymore. They will only consider a canadian school funding, exchange programs funding from countries like china, south korea etc. but not a Nigeria scholarship deary. It is no new news that the same NDDC refused or delayed reimbursting Niger-Delta miltants on study in the U.k and U.S not quite long. Don't blame the CIC guys dear.

Do the needful, get a loan or something and pay right away. Then later on, reimburst the loan giver when u receive your scholarship. That seems to be the only way out. Mind you, Canadiannurse paid half of his tuition before they even asked his for your same letter oooooo...

It's still possible to meet up with Sept if u reapply immediately without your Nigerian Child. Write a very good SOP. The Child and your husband will serve as home tie.

I had 2 consecutive app in 2014. The first was rejected for purpose of visit because I applied with my Nigerian Child. I immediately reapplied alone and that was it.

do you mean you didnt submit the funding letter with your application? in my own case, the funding letter from the department was issued before the acceptance letter(but just few dayz interval) and on my funding letter same story was also stated and also that the details of the official annual funding breakdown will be released to me wen i resume. i submitted the two letters for my app of whc the funding letter will serve as an evidence of payment for ur tuition fees like wht @mazuide said earlier. but the only difference is they never stated "mid-summer" in the letter.you dont need to worry coz the funding letter is a clear evidence . i think the gurus in the house will tell us wht mid summer means

Actually the letter am expecting is an "Annual official fund breakdown" letter. My department gave me an initial offer letter stating the funding, then sent the same letter to grad school who den issue letter of acceptance. after i accepted my offer, then my department again sent me an offical letter of acceptance stating that i have accepted my offer and started my funding again. then said the break down letter will be issued mid summer. so its 3 letters i submitted all in all in my application.

For all those in Canada what does "mid summer" mean? My funding letter is to come out by Mid Summer and I suspect CIC will request for it. Please if I applied for my Study Permit with the offer letter issued to me by my department in UWO - which categorically stated that I am on funding to the tune of so so so and so and that my official Annual Funding Breakdown letter will be issued by Mid summer, Can that be accepted as my funding letter by CIC?

I can still remember u applied to uwo, if datz tru, u are allowed to differ ur admission since itz not up to a year u got admitted. And losing ur funding or nt solemnly depends on ur supervisor, all you need is prayers coz he is keeping the slot for you just pray he will be patient with you nd wont change his mind you no dos supervisors operate based on the grants givn to them and I think this is affecting the rate at whc we nigerians get funding coz dey bliv it takes too long b4 we are able to get our trv so dey got no patient to wait for nija applicants. before you can defer ur admission you will first contact ur supervisor to inform him. I had a similar experience, I got a supervisor last year nov with the intention of applying for fall 2017. He gave me a go ah3ad to apply to my surprise I was givn admission for winter 2017 whc require me to resume in jan 2017(and I applied for fall 2017) den, I dont even av an international passport not to talk of applying for TRV and d processing time was 13weeks I had to contact him telln him I wont be able to meet up considerin the short time frame nd current processing time he agreed to defer my admission till may den I weny ahead to contact the graduate coordinator to process my new offer letter(ur dept will inform the school abt ur deferment on ur bhave so they can prepare ur new acceptance letter) this is wht I used to process my trv in jan. To cuy the long story short along the line wen I didnt hear from cic I kept on updating ny supervisor attaching the current processing time wit my mail (never keep mute wen ur app is still "processing" keep updating ur supervisor this shows ur seriousness and willingness). The school was to resume on may 8, I mailed my dept and supervisor on may 3 (coz I no cic will disappoint nd I wanted to make sure a new letter is on ground by d time cic will ask me to provid dem) telling my intention to defer my admission since am yet to hear from cic telling him my app is still within processing time. You wont bliv non of them replied my mails (I got more scared coz I was thinking it was too late to defer and also my supervisor had lost interest in me) I got more worried so I had to contact the school of graduate studies (my dept) d lady refused to pick up then I felt all hope was lost. Cic replied me on may 5th telling me my acceptance letter has expired dat I shld provide new letter for nxt semester and also proof of having paid my tuition fees for the 1st year and living expenses as well and also bank reference letter story (common letter by cic). Despite the fact that I was on funding I was shocked nd dnno hw to go abt it (I just felt this people are looking for a way to deny me) nd the school isnt ready to pay my tuition until I fulfil the condition on my acceptance letter whc is provision of TRV and I must be persent in school b4 the start date this means if cic didnt approve my TRV dey wont pay my tuition hmmmm. I mailed my dept+supervisor attaching cic response concerning d progress in my application still, non of them replied nd non also picked my calls den I summoned courage to call the school the guy was really helpful he immediately connected me with the naughty lady dat has refused to pick up my calls, she finally picked. She told me my supervisor has discussed my deferment with her and she will get bck to me once shez done infact she didnt allow me to alter a word, she also made mention of cic new policy of payin one year tuition and asked me nt to worry that everything will be taken care of in the new offer letter,(God is great,the news eased d fear of losing my funding). The letters(acceptance and funding)was sent to me within 3dayz carryin fall term (at last I got wat I wanted, itz destiny). I forwarded it to cic 3weeks to the deadline given. All you need to do is to hold on, u neva can tell cic can approve ur trv b4 resumption bt wen itz 5dayz to resumption nd u r yet to hear from cic please dnt hesitate to mail the graduate coordinator tellin her u wnt to differ nd givin her reasons y u wnt to mean while mail ur supervisor like few weeks to resumption telln him the present processing time dnt tell him directly dat u wnt deferment just try to seek his opinion on wht to do nxt (ur supervisor has the final say not the school of graduate studies coz he was the one who recommended u for admission). Am sure cic will reply few dayz to resumption requesting for a new acceptance letter.so sorry to share this long story of mine coz I bliv with this u will still retain the confidence in u nd never lose hope. expecially wen u mail ur supervisor and he doesny reply, itz nt as if he ignored ur mail or hez nt taking actions but he just felt itz nt necessary he reply,my supervisor didnt reply my mail (weda he agree to differ my admisson or he still av interest in me ) he didnt reply until the day I told him my trv has been approved! He was excited wen he heard the good news. Datz all they wnt to hear. (This experience is application to UWO I dnno abt other schools). Tho itz not easy but Just keep ur hope alive. Though I applied with an upfront medical on the 6th of June towards 1st of September start date, I felt to be fore-warned is to be fore-armed.. Your write up has done justice to that. Please are there specific ways to go about DEFERRING an admission? Am just curious please. Will one have to tell his supervisor first, then grad school? And will that be an issue if it is because of circumstance beyond once control - like CIC delays in issuing permit considering the recent processing time. Also, if one had an offer with funding, is it likely that one can lose his funding because he deferred?

1.Yes,include the alphabet before other numbers as imprinted on your passport and as filled in your application form.

2.Your UCI number will always remain the same for all applications whether refused or approved, new or old. It is your 'unique client identifier' on IRCC database that contain all your information.

3.Pick the last day of the month your program is ending or better still, use the end date you filled in your application.

I think its only during Express Entry applications they contact employers. I don't think they do for study permit. I feel they may contact though if your employer is your sponsor.

This is true.. If you employee is your sponsor, they certain will.. But if not, no worries pals. Unless if u have submitted the right docs perhaps. Cheers!

Please can on explain what we mine by "explain any gaps in your academic history when drafting filling your application. Cos I have been working consistently for 4years after graduation. please am preparing my application package for next week. i need your help with very little info. I am submitting my statement of account as a self sponsored individual. i am a private pactitioneer/self employed physiotherapist that do home services here and dere, as well as a fully employeed physiotherapist. Here are my concerns:

1. my private practices is linked with a friends company, so clients pay to me but under my colleaques company name. thats the requirement by my board for licencing. should i submit invoice/recepit along with my application for all the transactions above 100k? will that be necessary? however, i have my personal tax clearance and our company tax clearance and etc.

2. do i need a letter of introduction from my full time paid job and my self employed paid job. remeber, i work free lance under a company that links me with clients and i work full time as a pt.

3. must i submit my tax clearance certificates from my full time job? all in all i have been working for 5years actively non stop.

Please I need your help with this questions

Seriously they take that long sometimes. At the moment, my application has been reviewed by my department. (Rehabilitation Science) at the university of Western Ontario. They told me it will be reviewed on 11th may, and they did. However, they are going about concluding on funding plans. Cos in my program, u don't get admitted in Ontario if they wouldn't give u funding. So, I have to wait till dey reply me. My advise. U may write the department or the school of grad studies enquiring on the status of ur application. But am sure they are still reviewing. So chill boss.

I'v been following up on all comments and reply, I have really gained a lot. My case is I am still waiting for my admission offer from the Universities I applied to for an M.Eng (U of Ottawa and U of Alberta). 2017 fall

For U of Alberta I submitted on the 15th of Dec '16 but my app was complete around 26th of Jan cos of delay from my referree . Does University of Alberta take this long in giving offers.

I applied for Elect Elect M.Eng, My cgpa is 4.06, I have 1yr work experience in Telecomms which is my area of interest.

I'm beginning to get worried cos time is running out having in mind the big one which is Visa application. I can only hope for the best.

As requested by cic to present a new letter of acceptance and also evidence of paid tuition and deposit of living expenses for the upcoming year, the institution has agreed to defer her admission and also sent in a new funding letter attached. Gurus should please help peruse, as I think the letter is explicit enough to tackles VO's request for tuition and living expenses.

Wife is on full funding of full tuition for two years and 13k living expenses per year and we also submitted a statement of 5M in the first application courtesy of father in law (bank reference and affidavit of sponsorship included while applying in January)

Will this funding letter suffice?

hello boss. i am awaiting an offer from western university anytime from now. i am hoping it comes with funding too. i got 4.31cgpa and i have a strong supervisor dat accepted me there. however, they said they will be reviewing on 11th may, 2017. till date, they havent gotten back to me yet. how do u advice i tackle this please.. am i going to get admitted or not. i dont understand the western university system pals

There is no harm appying as self sponspor if you can prove that you sufficient and available funds for the duration of your program.

The difference between Sponspored applicant and a self sponsored applicant is that......
A sponsored applicant who is going for a 2years program MAY be allowed to show proof for funds for one year (made up tuition and living expenses) and a proof that his sponspor can cater for the subsequent year (this may be determined via various means like inflow and outflow shown on the bank statements, proof of sources of income, pay slips etc.)

A self sponsored applicant in this case has to prove to the VO that he can cater for his studies for the duration of course. Thus, for the whole two years. Meaning if you are applying as a self sponsored applicant, you to show proof of funds for the whole two years (total tuition plus 20,000 cad for the 2years living expenses).

The logic here is when apolying for study permit it's required of you to prove to the VO that you can cater for your studies without working in CAnada.

Thanks so much oluwa. I have an offer from Manitoba for MSc rehab science. Total fees is 11500.. Approximately 3.2m.. But I am awaiting an offer from western Ontario for the same course. As in Ontario province, I may be aligible for full funding in health science, if not, they will not admit.

My question now is, going by my Manitoba offer, if I declare 12million without paying fees and etc, isn't that sufficient for me to apply as self funded for the two years?? I also have fund in T.Bills.. About 12m oooo.. DAT one no reach? Must I use a sponsor? Some pple are saying use a sponsor as it shows u that u are not alone.. But the truth is am richer than the sponsors... Brothers and parents I mean!! Can I use a statement of account reading 2 million as sponsor while I have 12m in my personal account?? Please can anyone analysis and shade more light

I'll not say you should not use an agent but just be very careful, don't be carried away by the medical request gotten by that moniker Bcox he/she used an agent. I believe you have read people's experience with this agents. A word they say is enough for the wise.
