Why would any sane person want to go directly to banks to deposit cash into their personal accounts? In this period of cash deficiencies?
If you feel you have excess cash, I suggest patronising POS agents. Most of them would pay you up to 10% interest for just depositing the money with them.

Any smart politicians in south-south or south east that vie any elective post under labour party have a high chance emerging victorious due to influence of Peter Obi.,

Recalled the influence of former ondo state gov. mimiko of LP then that many aspiring politicians used his influence then to clinched power. e.g. people like Akinyelure (allover) would can never in his imagination won senatorial election by defeating 3-times senator oguniya of PDP then.

That's a smart moved from victor umeh.

Oh you don't know? Because of the image they present to you? grin
Don't be fooled. They have their problems. If you noticed well, JWs are very secretive. They don't like their dirty laundry in public. They have an image to protect because the religion as a whole is all about IMAGE and not about being a better person. There is an image for the public and another image amongst themselves. You need to be very close to them to know their dirty laundry. Just go to a Facebook dating group for JWs and observe. Somebody will make a comment talking about their dating problems. You will see replies telling the person to either shut up, or take the matter to the Elders and not Facebook because people who are non JWs are watching and reading their comments. JWs don't believe in solving their problems. They believe in waiting on Jehovah and hoping that problem will disappear on its own same way the JW ladies are hoping to marry a JW man when they are more in number than men in the religion. That's delusion.
Chai...this is serious, how I wish their single ladies have that boldness to search beyond their confined organization when choosing a life partner, rather than been cage unnecessarily.

That's very bad image of them, if a brothers within their organization can play on the intelligence of their ladies.

This your expository reflected my experience with a lady in that organization.

No wonder, that great philosopher Karl Marx stated that ''RELIGION IS THE OPIUM OF THE MASSES''

This one is small na. How about Jehovah's witnesses? Same double dating up and down. Same sleeping about with multiple sisters up and down. Same single JW man promising marriage to many JW ladies at the same time. Same married JW men sleeping with single JW and non JW ladies. Because of how rampant this has become, you will hear stories of JW ladies reporting these JW men to their elders in their congregation when they have had sex numerous times with them with no marriage in sight. I pity JW ladies the most because they are doomed as long as they are expecting Decent, normal men in that religion. Ladies are more in number than men in that religion all over the world. This is going to be a Huge problem for them. They are stuck with many mentally unstable, sex hungry JW single men. Men who see women as nothing. The men are even expecting the JW ladies to approach them for relationship and marriage. They don't want to work because the religion doesn't encourage them to aim higher. They are looking for rich JW ladies to marry sef. They don't know how to approach women with the proper mindset. And this is the same problem with JWs all over the world which means there is something wrong with the religion. The wise JW ladies marry out anyway. For how long will they keep waiting to see a reasonable JW man to marry? They meet one and that one start asking for sex. Want to meet them in hotels. After carrying bag about to Preach outside. Jokers! This goes to show that Religion has absolutely no way of affecting how decent a person becomes. Many mentally unstable people are in churches. Don't expect the best. Let your criteria be someone who shares the same family, moral, and social values as you do. Religion does absolutely nothing.

Alele - Williams dealt with cultists in Uniben those fays; suspending and rusticating most of them.
Her tenure made waves till I left Uniben.

Mama came, she saw and conquered.

Good night to our Margaret Thatcher of Uniben.
Very awesome to read this.,
It was the same approach this current VC wanted to adopt as she unilaterally add #20,000 on top of a school fees as a surcharge payment, which prompted a response by all the students to staged an aggressive protest that grounded the academic and commercial activities just for 2 days ooo.

When she (i.e current VC) could no longer bear the heat, and all her attempt to escape from her residential quarters was prevented by the aggrieved protesters, she rescinded on her earlier decision made (ordered all students to vacate campus) by revising the school fee surcharges with apologies to the entire students.

Tanx! criteria for admission in uniben only base on the number of candidates vying for particular course together with general performance in their aggregate scores...but should score above 50% as aggregate....competetion, catchment also play its own role..

Absolutely yes! Admission spaces for all direct entry applicant for all courses are also reserved but the spaces are not as much as utme entrant. For holding a bsc, you have a greater chance of been admitted if you pass the Post DE exam, of course, they normally conduct exam for all direct entry applicants like post ume. If am not too occupy because of the semester exam in a few days now, I may quote some of the vital info as it contained in the prospectus as regards to the vital updates of what the department required for direct entry admission.

Which universities in Nigeria take Optometry DIRECT ENTRY
Hello! Most of the schools that offering the course do take candidates for direct entry but depends on their criteria & your qualification obtained to seek for direct entry admission. I'm an Optometry student of UNIBEN admitted through UTME last year despite having a diploma qualification but don't want to risk it because of what I saw on JAMB Bronchure which serves as a guide then been required a distinction level pass in diploma to be consider for direct entry admission. I dont know if the criteria is still actively enforce as at now., but if you are a BSC holder with good grade in a related biological science courses, you have a greater chance ahead of those with diploma holder for consider admission in uniben. You can check the latest JAMB Bronchure probably 2015 edition for proper guide.

My brother,u doubt when i tell u dat without refraction ophthalmologists wont make half the money they make now?
1.Every body above the age of 45 must wear a prescription lens for at least presbyopia, wen doing near work like reading.
2.Look into a newspaper or magazine and tell me the most popular object aside of clothes....its lenses.
3.Not to talk of myopic, astigmatic, binocular issues....
If not for the presence of quacks in the eye care profession,no specialty would be as lucrative as it is...visit any eye clinic owned by an optometrist or opthalmologist and u would confirm wat i tell you....
4.Wen u start going for outreach, check out for the section with the longest line, its always the eye section....

like i said ,visit ,ask questions,observe....you will confirm wat i say....

Thank you sir.

My brother you are very correct. But then whoever pays the piper dictates the tune. The leading members of NOA are private consultants, consulted even by ophthalmologists for complex refraction problems...So they never realized the need for a strong public service policy until recently. As a matter of fact NOA joined JOHESSU for the first time just last 2 weeks. Many of the Bsc optometrists were content to work as appendages for ophthalmologists in Teaching hospitals and so our past continues to haunt us as ophthalmologist refuse to give up any franchise they have been enjoying before. They cant just wake up and give optometrists a chunk of their income because they upgraded their careers.Granted we may be capable, but freedom is never won by reason...freedom comes through struggle....and when it comes to struggle, medical lab scientists are indisputably the giants of the sector. The optometry profession has a lot to learn from them...I respect them immensely for that....
The optometry profession has to work of the flabs on the body of their association which is as a result of indolence and complacency thru feeding from private practice....
What incentive will the body have to push for improved public practice presence when the leaders have private practice and their primary goal is attracting cheap labour?Wont improved welfare for young doctors be at the detriment of their private practices....
Add this to the insecurity of the bsc optometrists who tried to go for the three years upgrade to doctor but failed after repeated attempts...such people will clutch to any straw thrown to them by ophthalmologists, and they dont care, because the first law is survival...
I know one that works in nnpc in a state in nigeria who is afraid to let doctors extern there because he is afraid they would replace him with one of them...the ophthalmologist would beg him to get externs for the nnpc clinic but the bsc optometrist employed there would outrightly refuse...
So there are many points to the issue....If the bulk of the practitioners in a proffession are private practitioners, and they are the ons who pay the association dues, then the association's policies must be biased in their favour....
But things are changings, younger doctors are coming to the helm of affairs, the need for public practice presence is now being felt keenly...
Nigeria has less than 2600 ODs in the countries,so they are not that much...absorption is not the problem...the policy of the NOA is....but i cant say everything here....like i said things are changing ,and its for the better...
Thank you sir.
Nawa ooohh. That means we must put our house in order to put a stop to dis past history that continuously haunting dis profession. I think For those guyz dat volunteer themselves to be an appendage to d Opht. really create misconception to d general puplic by making d archaic OPT as d same as OD's in terms of extra knoledge & practised gather so far in dis field. For instance when Opt. (OD's precisely) is metioned, some few public response who doesn't av d indepth knowledge on obvious disparity between d both will focus attention only to "dis pple are only taught how to cut glass alone (dat's optician) which is their general believe. I believe that d issue wia by an ophthalmologist does the job of an optometrist is not the first neither will it be d only time you hear of professionals not sticking to dia scheme of service /specialisation....for instance in the medical laboratories you see pathologists(mbbs specialised in pathology) /resident pathologist(mbbs doing residency in pathology) fighting mls so as to carry out laboratory procedures.....when you visit teaching hospitals, you see resident gynaecologist/gynaecologist performing midwifery....some times u see an optometrist conducting eye surgery or a mls consulting in his/her private clinic, or a pharmacist conducting D and C(abortion)I fink a lil percentage of blame should go to governing bodies of individual health professions(NOA,MLSCN,NMA etc) and a larger percentage of the blame should go to the 'I DON'T GIVE A F**K' attitude of the FEDERAL GOVT in matters concerning the HEALTH sector... Professional SPECIALIZATION in Nigeria is a term we only see in books definitely not in practise. how many times have you heard of malpractice suits(abi FG no d see hw western country dem health sector de?) in Nigeria? ...y FG go even bother themselves nko?...when d get small headache, dem go enter private jet go yankee(I just pray say one day,one go enter one of the hospitals for surgery and NEPA go take lite and d lister no go gree start because diesel finish for it...lol)
Hmmm! I think our existing laws (poor implementation to defaulters sreally caused this shotcoming

The issue my brother is dat whoever is in control of primary eye care is the first point of entry in the eye care profession. This means that the person is d first person the patient will meet if he or she has eye problems. He now can refer to the appropriate practitioner if the case is beyond his competence. That person is the optometrist. The optometrist should now refer to the opthalmologist if there is surgical care or specialised care,or refer to the general practitioner if a systemic disease is diagnosed. But then if the ophthalmologists confine themselves to surgical care and specialist care they wont make enough money...so they want to be primary care provided instead of the tertiary care providers that they are meant to be.They want to collect money for refraction also.Because the fact is that refraction-based proceedures are the money making machine of eye care.
They are asking the public to bypass the optometrist who is an eye doctor and go to a general medical practitioner who knows next to nothing about the eyes. This is because the medical doctor will refer the patients to them since they are in the same association, nma.Since the general practitioner knows next to nothing about eye care practice, they will refer even the most simple proceedures to the ophthalmologist thereby making the ophthalmologist richer. But the optometrist knows knows most of the things an ophthalmologist knows and is in a position to diagnose, treat and refer. And so takes money off the table of the ophthalmologists,so they hate optometrists.Optometrists fight for eye care rights with them.So its not a surprise if she comes on air to say that.
During the world sight day, optometrists gave a talk show and told the public that every eye problem should be brought to the optometrist who is the primary eye doctor. The optometrist will now refer if the need be.
Which is how it should be....With the exception of the brain, the eye is the most complex organ in the human body and it is not just the anatomy of the eye that makes it so,but the interplay between eye and light energy to bring about vision. That's one of the most complex sciences to learn. And of course the eye is an extension of the brain...
So how can a general practitioner who did eye only as a special sense course in their final yr even get to touch a patient with eye problem, not to talk of diagnosing and refering.
Any general practitioner doing that should actually be arrested. The early optometrists who did bsc optometry has no right to diagnose,or take clinical decision even after 4 yrs in the course how much less general medical practitioners.
The ophthalmologist is asking the public to bypass the optometrist and consult with a quack.Of course any general practitioner dabbling into eye care whether as a front for the ophthalmologists or as a real practitioner is practising quackery, just like an ophthalmologist who wants to perform neurosurgery is a quack. That nma states otherwise is immaterial.....my brother politics will be d doom of healthcare in nigeria...

"But then if the ophthalmologists confine themselves to surgical care and specialist care they wont make enough money..." hmmm dis is serious bro! But don't u see dat dis kind of shoddy malpractise profession been exhibited by dis our estrange colleagues is caused by d lacklustre of our NOA from their own part? Becoz according to what bro chidarlus pointed out about d 25years of underperforming of existence of dis body maybe have contributed immensely to dis daylight robbery. What's bro chidar. was saying is bitter truth. We only hear them when it's time for any world anniversary concerning sight & etc is fast approaching, and after dat no any meaningful show again.
