Politics › Re: How Igbos Get Rich Hawking Gala + What Governor Fayose Did by Sammy07: 9:25pm On Mar 05, 2020
The only thing I admire in Igbos trading here is their ability to draw customers or make money by themselves ..

The person that will sell something to you most times might not be the owner of the shop or apprentice...

He'll just call you and ask if you wanna buy something and he'll make his own price to be a bit higher than the normal price..

If you fall for it (his own profit)

But truth is, one ask to be careful or take along those who have knowledge in what you wanna buy from igbo guys..
Else..... OYO

Lol, this OP self...

Must everyone be a trader??

BTW, when the igbo man got to Lagos, where was he sleeping and what is he eating??
Lagos of all places, had it been you mentioned other SW states.
Would have agree, cos things are cheaper here.

Are you telling us he was able to sell all his gala finish everydayhuh

Lol, life doesn't works like that.
Not everyone can be successful through trading.
Even not every Igbos are successful through trading..

Everyone got to discover his/her own talents.

Idejo own the land, right?

Ok wherever you see Oba of Lagos written go and add .. .. Island. grin cheesy

Oba Akiolu is Oba of Lagos. Way above the other chiefs recently elevated.

Chai, because his Benin origin is fairly recent and officially well documented, the efforts are now to diminish his status. Funny set of people.
Well, I believe you're well learned.

When they say Oba of Lagos. Which area are they talking about??

BTW, I'm not diminishing his status
Because he's a first class Oba and he's probably the head of those Oba in Lag.

Igbo to the core. Igbo that understands how Nigeria works. Igbo that is not moved my emotions,by hear say.
I have always come from a family of progressives. My grandfather was a supporter of AG as a tailor on Haruna street Onitsha in 1950s n 1960s when most igbos were NCNC. After the war he relocated to Lagos with his family n in 2nd Republic became a member of UPN when most igbos n even his children were either NPN or NPP. I come from a family that has been to all parts of Nigeria n has lived with different tribes all our lives. I can speak n write fluently in igbo because I grew up in an Anglican Church where as kids we were taught the igbo alphabet in Sunday school. Right here in the heart of Lagos.
So I know Nigeria. I know when times change. Every political dispensation has its dynamics n intrigues. If you don't move with it you miss out. This current political dispensation started changing immediately after 2011 elections, igbos didn't read the signs. It matured in 2014. My people were still reading the political maps of the past. 2015 came n went n we lost. In 2018 was when I stopped caring. When I saw that we were going to make the same mistakes of 2015 in 2019 n we did.
Who ever tells you that Nigeria will disintegrate very soon is a liar. Political, social, ethnic, religious problems will continue (it's the characteristic of big multi ethnic countries) but Nigeria is not going anywhere soon.
Anyone that tells you that the igbos don't want presidency is a big liar. Just wait until an Igbo man is made a presidential candidate of a major party
.
Lol, actually correct tho. .
My uncle is a politician...
He has gone deep into politics ..

That's why I dey pray for SW to win presidency..
Cos I know that, him go collect appointment and I too can tender mine to him grin.

Truth is every tribe wished that the presidency should come to them..

Those saying what's the gain of onwe's region if it comes to the region are saying nonsense..

E.g.
When Buhari was sick
It was osinbanjo that quickly approved the Lagos - abeokuta - Ibadan Railway...

I like your reasoning bro, no sentiment you're different from your brothers

OP is making an interest point. The Yorubas may have not learn their lessons from the past. If not for British colonial interference, the Yorubas were engaged in a body genocidal civil war.

For those interested in Yoruba history I will post an ebook with this message.
Shut up and stop saying thrash...
If you read the e-book u wanna post.
Don't you read the reason for the war??

On video visiting Oba Ewuare II in Benin, Oba Akiolu actually mentioned Ado being from Benin. Late Oba Oyekan said same.

A Lagos prince told me something similar decades back. Seems to corroborate oral and written history. Though I have not heard the Awori part from Oba Akiolu say it.

Fact we know what Oba Akiolu believes. It doesn't sit well with the Yoruba narrative and they do not hide their hate.

I will seek to know the Awori part.
Koro, Odibo and Eletu have long been established as following Ado from Benin.

Kosoko was the last true vassal Eleko of Oba of Benin
Only the LAGOS ISLAND

All I know is that if PDP doesnot make an igbo its presidential candidate in 2023 then Igbo as a tribe is weak. Because even though igbos deserve it are they ready to wrestle for it?
As for APC Presidential Candidate in 2023?.... igbos should forget it. You can't reap where you didn't sow.
Omo, are you sure you're Igbo??

And the INEC still dey for office.

Despite the million he use to conduct elections creditable election is still elusive in Nigeria.
This particular No. 7 got me thinking..
