In a situation where both the school and funding has change, what should the response be like? Also didn't get funding the last time but got a partial funding now Schrodinger2: They include these but not limited to the following.
Hot 21 FAQs for F1 Interview.
0). You've been here before, What has changed? 1). Why are you going to the US? 2). How did you come about this school? 3). Why this school? 4). How many schools did you apply to? 5). When did you graduate? 6). What have you been doing? 7). What will this degree do for you?
. Why this Program/Course? 9). What is your study plan? 10). Why the US and not Nigeria? 11). What is Your Plan after Studies? 12). Why should I give you this Visa? 13). Did you take any Standardized test? 14). Who's Sponsoring you? 15). What does he/she do? 16) Why will he/she Sponsor you? 17). Have you travelled before? 18). Are you Married? 19). Do you have any children? 20). Have you made travel plans?
Your questions will almost always revolve around these. Some questions are peculiar to certain type of applicants. If it's your first time, you'd not be asked the first question on the list.
Be very attentive as questions might be worded differently by the VO but still convey same meaning as those above.
There's a structure to answer all these. Answers to these questions should contain some key ingredients that will score you high during the interview. Unfortunately, I can't drop them now. However, if you read loads of approved transcripts, you should get the Idea. |

Thank you Schrodinger2: Yes, you can use it if you happen to get an appointment date before the expiration date in July.
Go with the Regular option.
You will have to transfer and activate your new SEVIS ID to your SEVIS fee payment portal assuming it has not expired. It is free of charge, so go to the www.fmjfee.com page to this. It should take about a day to get it transferred. That way, you can use your new SEVIS ID to do the DS160 and book a date. |

Samongo: Good evening everyone
I recently got admitted to study MSc Construction Engineering and Management for Fall 2022 semester. My COA is 53k, no funding at the moment but I was able to secure Mpower loan of 50k and planning to use my Dad as sponsor to cover the balance of 3k. I will be applying for visa as soon as possible and I will like to have an idea of the questions I can expecting and the best way to tackle them. Also, please anyone who has applied with Mpower loan, kindly share your experience. Thanks |

Good day everyone. Guys, I will be going for my interview tomorrow, pls any other suggestions on this? Samongo: Hi guys. My interview will be coming up next week Tuesday. Pls kindly go through my proposed transcript and let me know your views on it. Thanks
VO; why are you going to the US?
Me; I'm going to pursue a Master degree in Construction Management at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.
VO; why BGSU?
Me; Aside from the relatively low cost of attendance in BGSU and relatively low cost of living in Ohio, the school Engineering Technology department offers a concentration in Construction Technology with active research in Construction Project Management and Decision Making. After asking various questions in an email conversation with Dr. Arsenio Rodrigues, I was made to understand that the department offers graduate internships which promotes professional experience because of its affiliations with various construction firm like Turner construction, Alvada Construction, Baker Concrete amongst others.
VO; why US?
Me; well, I chose the United States for a couple of reasons.
1. So as not to remain obsolete in this fast growing pace of technological advancement and I know a degree in the US will bring me very close if not at par with the technological advancement in my field.
2. With my experience in the cooperate environment. In the Nigeria job market today, a degree from the United States is well respected and highly ranked, also because most schools in the United States offer practical research work in various field which I know will give me the competitive edge I need and make me a valuable asset when I return to my country.
VO: what's your research interest
Me; my research interest is in the area of Construction Project Management where I will be looking into understanding the Effect of Motivation on Worker's Productivity during Construction Projects and I will be working with Prof. Scot Gross and his team.
VO; what will this degree do for you
Me; A degree in Construction Management will improve my knowledge of the Managerial aspect of Construction and Decision making concerning scheduling, quality, cost and time management of Construction projects from inception to completion.
VO; who will be sponsoring your education?
Me; My cousin
VO; what does he do
Me; He works for a company that deals in importation and supply of medical equipment to various hospitals in Nigeria.
VO: why is he sponsoring you
ME: He sponsored part of my education when I was an undergraduate and now, he’s particularly impressed that I’m seeking new frontiers to give my career a boost.
VO; what do you do?
Me; I currently work as a Quantity Surveyor/Construction cost Estimator at Efficacy Construction Company Ltd.
VO; how long have you been working?
Me; 3 years & 4months
VO; did you apply for study leave
Me; yes
VO; what's your plan after the program
Me; My immediate plan after my program will be to seek reabsorption back into the company where I work currently as a Quantity Surveyor but I will be vying for the position of a Construction Manager, an elevated position and in the long term, I will like to establish a Construction firm here in Nigeria and venture into Real Estate.
VO; Do you have any relative in the US?
Me; No
VO; have you been to the US before
Me; No
VO; have you travelled out of the country before
Me; No, I haven't had a reason to.
VO; are you married
Me; No
VO; any kid
Me; No
VO; Congratulation, I'll be approving your Visa hopefully... |

Sorry bro for the late response. Yes, there was still some deficit and I also took GRE. You don't actually need Teofl to apply because Naija is part of the exempted countries and I think you can apply without GRE too. bidemialade43: Surely , God’s favour is with you... Please I’m planning to apply to BGSU too .. But fall 2022. My question is, for your fall 2021 graduate assistantship was it fully funded or you still have some deficits?? Second question is ....Did you apply using GRE or IELTS before you’re been given graduate assistantship. Thank you so much for your speedy response |

Thanks bro. I had an assistantship for Fall 2021 but due to the fact that I couldn't get an earlier interview date, I had to defer the admission to Spring 2022 and forfeited the assistantship. I will be going for the interview without an assistantship just praying for God's favour. toffytee: I am very sure you have a graduate assistantship and I will suggest you include it in WHY BGSU. I am also a Quantity Surveyor but I am planning towards FALL 2022. I pray for favour on your behalf bro. |

Hello guys
My EA was approved on the 11th of August and the earliest date I could schedule was 24th of September but I was able to pick 7th of September before expiration of the EA. After my EA expired, I saw the prompt to apply for another EA but was denied some days after. My school resumes on the 26th of August but as a GA I have to resume on the 25th of August. I emailed the school for extension but I was told that my GA will be moved to another available student of I don't get there on the 25th of August. I can't see the EA prompt on my CGI page again. I don't know if I should defer to Spring but if I do, I will lose the assistantship and according to the program coord, no GA for Spring semester. Pls I need advice
Should I pay another mrv fee or stick to the September date and defer to Spring semester? |

Pls what number did you call them with? Kindlyshare pls Viquetohr: Yeah, I just called thru the Lagos Embassy. A fresh EA request transferring to Abuja will attract another MRV fee payment. If you feel you can't wait any longer and can afford to pay another MRV fee, please do. But you have no idea if it's a wise decision for you. I also await an EA approval just like you do. I applied to the Lagos Embassy on the 17th July, and my resumption date is 23rd August. I've waited long enough too, but be wise. |
