the kind of infrastructure of Lagos island can match up Abuja development or even better . Just the Oceanic estate view alone is something Abuja will be willing to have. And that is something I am jealous about Lagos.
Abuja can offer serene, lush green hill-ly view...Lagos can't...
Abuja is more Natural than Lagos..

It's hopeful that the Lagos - Ibadan rail will help with the depopulation of Lagos ..
Ibadan is much cheaper to live in...
If the trains can be as fast as they are being touted to be,then it would be easy for people to live in Ibadan and work in Lagos ..
Heck, even Abeokuta and other parts of Ogun state where the rail will connect ..
Yes...
I once read it would reduce the almost 3 hours long drive from Lagos to Ibadan to just 1 hour on the trains ride....
Not just Ibadan and Abeokuta, small towns and villages like sagamu, mowe, ibafo, Ijebu ode will develop...Expect to see real estate developer rushing to build homes there as it will be very profitable due to the increase in demand it will bring...heck even landed properties will start going up...
Already I can tell you for free that at that warri-itakpe station developer has started selling land close to the stations and building estates, same goes to the environs of that Abeokuta station... expect companies, industries to follow suit and also infastructures...and then gradually you are developing a city.....I would love if they map out a plan...this may even speed up the Abeokuta CBD development as investors will gain more confidence from large middle class that will flew from Lagos and start demanding luxury homes, luxury office spaces you name it..

Why would we build roads in places that has very few people. Turkana are scattered in area bigger than Ghana I think - and they are less than 1 million. The Somalis the same.
They still deserve an access to good quality roads...stop giving excuses...
Gombe state us also very ,very sparsely populated but 11 local gives are expecting 100km of road network each which will amount to 1,100km..
Development of a country should spread round not guarded up in one location..other oeoe in other regions are equally citizen and has the right to enjoy what every other regions enjoy...

Nearly all our roads are motorable. Those that are not paved - are very well maintained murram roads.
Don't even go there..just read

Less than six per cent of Kenyan roads are tarmacked, with only 4,300 of the total 12,950km of paved roads in good condition, statistics by the Kenya Roads Board has shown.

At least 6,212km of tarmacked roads are classified as being in a fair condition, with 2,429km classified as poor A total of 122km are currently under construction.

All kenya major roads are paved and WELL MAINTAINED. What remain unpaved are rural access roads. And those are regularly maintained.

Nigeria on theory has 60,000kms paved roads - but everyone knows most of it has completely BROKEN DOWN.

Roads are not something you pave and disappear.

You need budge to regularly - like annually maintain them - if not monthly.
Lol did you also maintain this one's anually or regularly...?
I don't know if U am the only one seeing this but this looks pretty broken as fvcked..

Oga,the bolded is a lie . Abuja is much bigger than Lagos in terms of landmass and development is well spread.. From Garki to Wuse to Maitama to Asokoro and Kuje..

Abuja is definitely not as developed and lively as Lagos but it has its advantages..
For one thing,it's more organized and cleaner than Lagos...and more beautiful..
Abuja is better than Lagos most especially if you are a laid back person with a "mind my own business kinda life"

$100 Million Smartphone Factory Ready to Begin Operation in Nigeria

Smartphone makers, Mara has announced plans to build a $100 million factory in Nigeria after launching the same in South Africa and Rwanda. The phones will be manufactured in Nigeria by over 2000 employees at different stages of production.
Despite the pandemic, the company said it is moving forward with plans to build a world-class factory in Nigeria that will produce high-quality, affordable smartphones. In 2019, the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) announced its plan to build the factory.

It is estimated that the factory that will cost $100 million to complete will generate more than 2,000 direct and highly skilled jobs and contribute to the transfer of technology and high-tech skills in Nigeria while helping to build and maintain a broad high-tech company ecosystem.

The smartphone brand headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda, started manufacturing its first smartphone in 2018 from a South African factory. However, the company says its Rwanda facility is the first to fully manufacture smartphone – the Mara X and Mara Z – as distinct from product assembly in Africa as it can be obtained in other phone factories across the continent, 100 percent locally. According to the company, all components of the products, including the chips, are originated locally

I swear Kenya is a disaster, Imagine Kenya only has 8,000 km of paved roads since independence and Nyayo and Kasarani (Kenya's largest stadiums) were built and Opened in ‎1983 and 1987 respectively with zero sporting facilities built since than ,Nigeria, south Africa and Ghana has built countless sporting facilities across all regions. while that stupid RVP kept defending that failed nation ?
Lol most counties in Kenya are road-less..some counties don't even know that roads can be paved..they just walk in the dirty little sandy road when ever they head to the stream to fetch water..a good example is rongai, kakamega (kakamega should be getting it first , probably after the Kisumu-kakamega highway is completed)..

Kenya is indeed a Zoo, The Kenyan road network has 177,800 km of road, of which 63,757 are classified. Only 9,273 km are paved and just 70% of the classified roads are in good condition. This represents an increase of less than 20,000 km of classified roads and 8,000 km of paved roads since independence, while a tiny state in Nigeria ,Gombe state is constructing construction of 100 kilomtres of roads in each of the 11 LGAs of the state. totaling 1100KM in a year cool cool

Road projects executed and the ones being executed by the administration include the construction of 16km Malala - Zaune - Dukkuyel road in Dukku LGA, 15km Mararraba – Jabba – Sambo Daji – Pandi Kola – Gwarar – Garin Wada road in Akko LGA, 21km Degri - Bembelem - Reme - Dong - Talasse road in Balanga LGA, upgrading of 19km Gona - Garko - Gujuba - Kalshingi road with spur to Maidugu in Akko LGA and upgrading of 26km Billiri - Gujuba - Kamu - Awak road in Billiri LGA,

Others are 11.50km road taking off from Gombe/Potiskum Federal Highway - Gerkwami - Daniya road in Kwami LGA, 27km Dukku - Kalam - Dokoro – road in Dukku LGA, 36km Dukku - Dokoro - Jamari road in Dukku, 9km Bajoga Township road in Funakaye LGA, 9.10km Bambam - Nwona - Kutare - Yola road in Balanga LGA, 1.59km road network in Rice/Vegetable oil Industrial Cluster at Nasarawo in Gombe LGA, 13km Kumo - Kalshingi road in Akko LGA, rehabilitation of 42km Ngaji Bauchi - Baure - Zambuk - Lubo - Daban Fulani road in Kwami and Y/Deba, 9.9km dualization of the section of Bauchi Gombe Federal Highway Phase II (Tumfure International Conference Centre - New City Gate in Gombe and Akko LGAs to ease means of transportation and economic activities. To complement the essence of the huge investment on roads, the government also procured 50 brand new 18-seater buses for the Gombe State Transport Service ( Gombe Line).

depopulation?

You should also think of which one is cheaper hiring a room or traveling every day... Depopulation not rather say rate of migration "may" decrease

Depopulation happens mostly in countries with an aging population like tokyo

In all estimates not a single one directed in lagos depopulation

I Think we use the word "city" loosely where we should be saying "town"

The last we heard - pictures or videos are edited bla bla.

There is no way Nairobi and Mombasa can compete with any of Nigeria slumpolis. Lagos sees dust when compared to Nairobi. Abuja is just a useless gov city - can never compete with Mombasa in nearly all parameters except maybe road and idle rail. Actually, on rail - Mombasa is better.

A little research will do
Takoradi is never the 2nd largest city in Ghana. Kumasi is.
I won't argue with you on which City between is beautiful.
Kenya has really done well in terms of city planning, Ghana I would say lost it when it comes to good City planning,
But beyond the beauty of the city what next?
How comfortable are the Citizens in those cities?
Do they enjoy the basic social services?
Electricity
Water
Good Roads
Safety/Security
Education
Health care ETC

Takoradi might not be as beautiful as Mombasa, Kisimu ETC
but life is really good there. They enjoy all the basic things a city can boast of.
What did you just say...Mombasa beautiwhat grin
The closest thing Mombasa has to beauty would be Diani beach..that's all..otherwise it's an old crappy town with dilapidated, rusty infastructure...A mess for lack of a better word..
