There are such kind of areas in every developing world cities but in Nigeria - it the norm - rather than exception. I know when confronted with Nairobi world class buildings and roads - the next is to fish slums and likes.

Precisely. It gov bureaucracy and nothing more. The billions invested there - could make sense if it was divested to Lagos - and Lagos would look like 20M city. Not a slumpolis like Kinshasa. Lagos - people prefer to live on their cars during the week - and only go home for the weekend. The traffic jams are horrendous.

There is always an additional 1,000 bet buses every to existing ones in Lagos with additional bus terminals,bus stations built...I hope you are aware..

As for West Africa - where do we start? Maybe remove the Okadas and 3-wheelers first. At least in Nairobi the 14 seaters were long banned - new registration not allowed - and we are transitioning to buses and mini-buses.

For instance upperhill is dropping in potential property investment solely because of the crazy traffic in that axis.. property buyers are avoiding that zone like a plague.. imagine leaving your house in upperhill to go get groceries in town and you end up spending 5 hours in the roads of upperhill before you get to your house..yes that's how crazy it is..

I think he can be proud of traffic in some way but not a nuisance one of Nairobi without coordinated plan. In some way traffic jams is a good trend for development. It is from their goverment will plan building high ways. Large roundabout and multiple road lane. Just like in the big cities of China, there is always traffic jam despite high development but not a nauseating one .

But every country experience traffic jam, I want to know what is so special about Nairobi's own that he would post it and be prooud of it.
