2/3 of Kenya is semi arid.. actually 89% of Kenya is not arable...we also haven't been as lucky as some countries with natural resources like billion barrels of oil or gold..but certainly we have done well compared to Africa countries. But we could have done better like say South Korea or Taiwan.Those are countries that can hold a candle to us.

We too could have done well like UAE...This are equally countries that can hold a candle to us..

Nonsense go read on how that ranking came about...... Singapore has the best road right while USA is 17 and UK is 37...have you been to los Angeles, to me I don't think roads can be any better compared to what I have seen there (that just has to the the best a road can ever be)
..now looking at UK ranked at 37 makes me laugh because almost every weeks you see the road maintenance on the streets of London(ever nook and cranny) maintaining and looking for the tiniest fault on a road to correct....

Singapore is a very peaceful country and generally law abiding with little record on road accident due to almost 100% (I say this because no one is perfect) of obeying traffic laws so expect them to be ranked the highest..

the govt was putting up policies and mechanisms to facilitate the construction of the 500k houses
the first step was to evict people from slums so the slum dwellers need to be compensated
go google about pangani and kibera soweto evictions
secondly the govt needed to set up a mortgage company which it did kenya mortgage refinance company
thirdly our govt is not constructing houses for anyone the govt is only providing land and utilities nothing the rest is done by the private sector
the ngara housing project is already done
and most of the construction started in july so be patient by next year a time like this we will measure our cement consumption

All that you said I am aware...But the thing is you have built some homes and you will be commissioning over 4,000 plus this December...with such construction amongst other luxury home construction , roads...you should be consuming more than the ghanians...
