You're talking nonsense. Nairobi has zones. Each zone has max floors you can put up. Some have 2, 4, 10, 20 & above. Old cbd we have pasted here so many times. Upper hill was residential area just like Westland. Now they allowed 20 plus floors. I think Kilimani is next to be allowed to build such kind of tall structures.

1) Old Nairobi CBD - always designated as business district

2) Westland - formerly upper-middle-class estate

3) Upperhill - formerly upper middle-class estate.

4) KIlimani - formerly middle class estate

Thankfully Nigerian scam got 0.1% of Nairobi roads. These are 5kms or so road - mostly in Industrial Area - the only visible pain is the ring round around westlands. Total contract is something like 50M dollars. That is pocket change. The roads they got were mainly from KURA - kenya Urban Roads. KENHA (Highways) do a great job working with Chinese.

Now imagine the nightmare you have to go through daily from Reynold & such contractors. I just read you award them 200M dollars kind of contracts.

You don't make sense. Nairobi is only city in Africa that rapidly expanding like Chinese and Indian cities according to latest JLL ranking. It's six most rapidly expanding city in the world. Upperhill was a residential area about 10-15yrs ago. The same with westlands. Obviously the roads for residential areas - are narrow - and there is no need for footpaths -and the work. You know Nairobi has mostly planned city - and overnight when a zone like upperhill or westland is allowed to say build skycrappers - in 5yrs - the area totally changes.

Accra road - ring road - parklands
Lusaka road is complete while Muratina Street and its extension to Thika road is 97 percent complete;
Likoni Road is 95 percent complete,
Enterprise Road Extension (Homabay road Junction to Likoni road) is 91 percent complete, Interchange Likoni/Enterprise is 75 percent complete
Ring Road Parklands to Limuru Road is 57 percent complete.

Upperhill now is nearly sorted - they just opened new roads this week. In westlands - hopefully the nigerian cowboy will finally exit the scene.
