Have you ever worked with a billionaire before? I guess not. Admitted, their PAs could be here.

But you see those people, they are extremely busy people. They don't rest and their phones keep ringing every second. They go from one meeting to another.

Most times, social media is the last thing on their mind. And for those who feel they need to engage their followers, their PAs manage their social media accounts and they often tell their PAs what to share and post, especially on serious platforms like LinkedIn, X, Instagram and Facebook.

Nairaland is too toxic and childish. What dominates Nairaland's frontage is politics news and the amount of toxicity that oozes from that section is enough to discourage such people from coming here.
Twitter is arguably the most toxic social media site and Elon Musk is very active there. Many tech dollar millionaires and billionaires still actively engage people on Twitter. Elon is worth over $200 billion the last time I checked. Being rich and busy is not an excuse. Rich people can and do make out time for social media depending on their lifestyle choices and how tech-savvy they are. They may not create content or engage a lot of the content trending, but it doesn't mean that they're not scrolling and watching.
If you're rich and can't buy yourself time for some indulgences, then maybe you're more of a slave to wealth accumulation.
Also, the Politics section is not the only side of Nairaland. Personally, I haven't visited the Politics section in probably a year or more. I do however engage some things from there that make the front page. There are people that only visit the Travel, Business, Technology Market, Cartalk, or Autos sections and have made very important contacts or done business just based on their Nairaland reputation.

Bros, get real! It's just like saying that Dangote and Adenuga are on Nairaland. This SUV is not for people in the middle class. The comment you responded to is right. That money can buy you a three bedroom duplex in Lekki.
You assumed that there are no billionaires roaming Nairaland or their assistants/associates? cheesy
You guys do realise that even dollar billionaires are just as human as the rest of us, right?
I don't know what sections you operate in, but I can assure you there are really wealthy people using Nairaland.

Those who can afford this kind of cars are not on nairaland
This is a funny assumption. I know this is a super expensive car, but you'd be shocked to know the value of transactions that some people pull from Nairaland presence and reputation. And some wealthy people only need to check the relevant sections they find value in while commenting anonymously if they so wish.

Car Talk / Re: New Cars Under 10M NGN by samsard(m): 6:51pm On Apr 11
Babatundehy:

10 million naira isn't actually money you should have and be thinking of a new car, that is like having 100k now and going to computer village or slot looking at new iphones or Samsung phones, even a few years ago when one dollar was equivalent to 180/200 your 10m would be approx 5,000 dollars and that wouldn't buy a new car then, even if you considered sugar boxes like picanto or versa.
Go continue your hustle so you get more money, double that and then see what three cylinder engine you can buy 😂 or see if there's a dealer looking to sell any 2013/2014 used Toyota corolla/honda accord or the likes.
Your math is awful. ₦10m at 200/$ is about $50,000. That could have bought a brand-new Lexus ES350 when USD was 200/$, at least the base model of it. You could buy what is essentially a brand-new entry level luxury car with 10m then.

Hello @earthrealm and obekediamondfuto, I am happy to report that my prolong gear issue was resolved today. I am so elated so much that I paid the guy more than we bargained. All along, it had been an electrical wiring problem.

He traced/tested each port on the ECU and wires from the valve body connector for continuity. Did some corrective works etal. Long story short, vehicle entered 4 and 5 o. I entered Lagos/Ibadan for testing and I was more than happy. At 100km/h, my rpm was at 2000 or so. I hit 120 on the long bridge, hit the cruise control button and eased off my leg on the throttle. Baby boy was just sailing.

Overdrive button now functioning. Return trip, I hit the O/D button and I could hear the high pitch from the engine. O/D on again, and I was back to 4 and hit 5 before reaching Berger.

By the way, I serviced with T-IV after the electrical work finished before going for the test-drive.

Thank you so much for your help.
Hello. I've been having similar issues. If I was in Lag I'd have tried the guys you used to help resolve your issue.

is it because of the price of the car ,or cost of fuel?
The question was not directed at me, but my Kenyan friend says they're not allowed to import cars that are more than six years old. And fuel is significantly more expensive there, at least in dollar terms. I can't say for other African countries sha.

Lol, any remote worker knows what's happening in the country and beyond, even as your lies and scheme are obvious from the post, I think I must advice any gullible nairalander to avoid falling prey to this poorly worded trick 😂
No remote worker alive or dead earns 10,000 dollars a month, I have been in this world since 2017 and I know how it runs, I have friends with Microsoft in Lagos lol, and their salaries are Nigerian/African standard even as they work on site and not remotely, +-2kusd.
Even in these countries (USA/UK/Canada) how many graduate/skilled onsite workers earn 10000 a month, cross the 100k usd a year anywhere in the world and you're Ineligible for any government subsidy, grant or help, that's because you're well off 😂
After the tech boom of late 2019 through early 2021, It's been downhill, layoffs (on-site and remote), paycuts, and fewer jobs, my earnings have suffered a lot and been dwindling every year since 2019, my earnings only make a little sense in Nigeria as the exchange rate is currently terrible, if I told you in USD only a few people would be moved.
To those thinking about this liar's post, forget and trash it, doesn't matter what skill or experience you have, it's impossible.
I know someone doing just a little under $5k/month. So, as much as it may be hard, I won't go so far as to say it's absolutely impossible.

Hello bro, I am presently battling a P0505 (IACV) error code on my RAV4. I removed the initial throttle body, followed the cleaning routine for both the IACV and the throttle body but the cleaning did not solve the issue. I bought and installed another tokunbo entire throttle body about two months back but the code is still present. That's the only code I have on the ride when I scan it and I am so eager to get rid of it, because I suspect it's contributing to my fuel issue plus the erratic RPM shifts sometimes. Now I have two scenarios -

1. Could it be that the replacement unit is faulty? or

2. Is it possible that the code has been permanently stored on the ECU? Just so you know, I bought another ECU after I purchased the ride to solve the transmission issue and some other electrical faults.

What do you think? Thank you.

Hello, chief. Just saw your posts through Nairaland search. Did the change of ECU successfully resolve your transmission issue?

only lunatics like you forget we are now in a multipolar world where nobody is officially being colonized. Fighting among so called super powers will do nothing more than serious harm to trade. European also slaughtered themselves in precolonial times unnoticed in Africa.

Sick countries like yours will be hit most as separatist groups will have the opportunity to realign and become more powerful.
You really are incredibly stupid if you don't know what nuclear war entails and if you think you're just going to be an unaffected spectator. This is not pre-colonial times. There are sophisticated weapons capable of sending all of the planet into a nuclear ice age if only the US and Russia detonate a fraction of their weapons. Like I said earlier, you're probably incredibly stupid if you think this is conventional disaster. You also have to be incredibly callous/wicked to want that level of destruction because you don't like a group of people.

More than 50% of our forex goes to this man, and when he export his products, he uses the revenue to buy raw materials directly from the country buying his products...we are talking real economics here, not sentiments
You're still talking sentiments. Firstly, the 50% forex figure is imaginary. Until recently the government gave forex to companies that needed to bring tooling and equipment from abroad, and Dangote is not the only beneficiary. It's to encourage local manufacturing and job creation. Also, a lot of Dangote refinery's cost is funded with foreign loans and investments from outsiders. The stake the Federal Government has through the NNPC is on the promise of crude oil supplies amounting to some millions of barrels of crude supply.
Nigeria has pledged a lot of its current crude production in forex forwards. That means that if we're producing say a million barrels a day we essentially only have access to say 700k barrels because the rest is promised as debt payment for foreign loans. We are not able to achieve peak crude production now because of crude oil theft and other factors and part of the available production is basically paying off debt.

Simillar to what Nigerian pastors do . collect money from congregation to build school, then set the fees as high as possible so that members cannot afford it.
Dangote is a private business though. Nigerian has dedicated large chunks of its production to repaying debts it took on the promise of oil production. Our crude alone cannot service Dangote refinery at this time because the government has obligations to meet.
