saint2ace: Go to the ecoflow nigeria site, not jumia and get the ecoflow delta 2 black (E980) for 430k or the ecoflow river 3 plus for 345k.
Modified: It's also available on jumia for the same price. Cheers High-quality advice right there. I second this. 👍 |

ijeezlux: Please why is that when I check my starlink internet speed test with fast dot com, the speed is always lower compared to when I use the starlink app to check the speed. Or it it that starlink app is inflating the speed The Starlink app shows the speed between your dish and Starlink’s own system, while Fast.com checks speed to the wider internet, which is what you really feel when browsing. Me, personally, I've stopped doing speed tests. My own is that it better carry whatever I'm doing. |

Joeyjones: I am thinking of getting starlink residential for an office of about 23 people in Lagos. When it gets cloudy during heavy rainfall, what is the average speed or does it lose internet? Based on my experience; average cloudy conditions or light rain, no issues. Thunderstorm with thick clouds, it will blackout until the weather clears up. |

SourYoghurt: I saw this on someone's status. They sell the kit for 680k plus this monthly subscription fee. I guess for this, the 160k sub assumes that the buyer will activate the business plan, which is the only one available at the moment in other parts of the country. The 680k price for the kit though... |

Kinda similar to the business plan that I had no choice but to pay for around December, because of the annoying regulatory issues. |

oluwapoju: Let them enjoy the moment until starlink roll out DIRECT TO CELL for Africa market Direct To Cell makes me think about the iPhone's Emergency SOS via satellite, exclusive to iPhone 14 and later. It might be one of those things that will require phones with special hardware specifications, and so the barrier of entry may be high for the African context. Imagine buying a flagship device that costs over 1m (plus a monthly sub) to stay connected, versus buying a budget device, throwing in a SIM, and buying tiny amounts of airtime to use as you go. The choice will be obvious for most people. Also, it probably wouldn't even work indoors because of the whole "direct clear view of sky" thing. Lol. There would have to be serious innovation to make Direct to Cell competitive with regular carriers in our context. |

twosquare:

Actually, I feel for those who bought this and then the naira devaluation, then now increase in price...that's someone's monthly salary mehnn...it will make it appear elitist. Na person wey belleful dey cough such amount monthly now. Compare it to 20k monthly for the lowest plan.
I had the money then, but I had to calculate yearly and factor in the likelihood of an increase. Hmmm. That's after money for kit o...then factoring in light issue, inverter, etc. so I can use it 24/7...I gave up.
At ₦590k now, that is enough (If Airtel no increase) for me to do 2 years plus plan and some months or cover device and some months.
I have to consider this based on economic realities...you need to have deep pockets now...if naira falls further...gbegeun... I think you summed it up really well. It's not just about the Starlink unit, it's also the steady AC power supply and other costs that come with that too. Because without that, you can't even take full advantage of the service. Also, it's mostly home-based, and so you still need a backup provider for when you're on the move. I personally think if Starlink isn't generating or enabling someone to generate significant revenue (for example, a stable business or a dollar-based remote role), it's a no-no at the moment, until something changes. |

Chai, see what Starlink people have caused. Airtel is now dragging market share in this thread. Lol. I'm optimistic about Black Friday, though. Maybe there will be a hardware price discount or something. MTN and Airtel give me high BP every day. |

I got a Switch Lite last month and I ran into the same issue.
Jiji has been very helpful, especially for finding people around who have used game cartridges for sale.
I personally was looking for Metroid Dread, because that was the game that caught my eye and made me buy the console in the first place.
Since no one had it in stock, I had to buy it from their eShop. |

I observed you're using solid blocks, rather than hollow blocks.
Is there any specific reason for this preference? I'm curious if it wouldn't be preferable to use hollow blocks, because they are better at temperature regulation. |

This one is just doing copy copy, as we used to say in primary school. In modern times na copy and paste, we go call am.
Does he even have the money or is he just making public noise? You're so on point, and that's why I avoid Jumia or any form of window shopping around certain times of the month. Search for a reputable site, create an account, buy units, and you're good to go.
There are other things like DND (do not disturb), sender ID whitelisting, and NCC policies that you'll come across down the line, but you'll figure it all out later. |

berbs: QAW ain't dead. The pay is no longer encouraging, that's it. It doesn't make sense to do 100 minutes of audio which as a beginner you may spend 10 hours or more and be getting $5. You as a beginner could learn transcription from there. I concur with this. I consider QA-W as more of a training ground, at the moment. Once you've been with them for a while and you've sharpened your skills sufficiently, you can shoot your shot elsewhere, where the pay and workflow is better, and you'll be more likely to get accepted. At least, that's what I did. It may not necessarily be the popular transcription sites on the first page of Google search results. There are tons of other transcription and captioning firms that may be in need of qualified folks. All you've got to do is build your skill, and then reach out to them via email or something like that. I've missed y'all, by the way. You guys saved my life, literally. |
