I have been mandated to host a small Xmas giveaway by one of our bosses here on the thread.

Something by which to say thank you as well as spreading the Xmas cheer all round.

Mind you tho, this giveaway is not going to be given freely.

This is the Xiaomi thread after all and I intend to test your knowledge about all things Xiaomi in Nigeria.

The rules are simple.

There'll be 10 questions.

The four persons with the most correct answers get to walk away with my prize.

I'll be back by 8:30pm so we can commence.

I agree this admin is not a good admin, but this measure would improve the security of Nigeria and make it harder for criminal agents to operate.

1.Linking sim to NIN in essence makes your SIM a new ID card so to speak...meaning it would be difficult to sell your SIM to anyone...including potential kidnappers....because it would be tantamount to selling your ID.

2.Assuming a kidnapper kidnaps someone to use his SIM to make extorition calls for another kidnap victim...that adds more stress, and draws more attention to the kidnapper.

Currently, one can register up to a 100 SIM in his or her name and sell them off. These SIMS can then be sold on to criminals and crooks. Meaning that a kidnapper can make calls without fear of being traced.

This new policy makes it harder for criminals. Since now, every SIM one registers for has to be linked to the NIN...which works in 2 ways

1.People would be more reluctant to sell their SIM cards....now that they are linked to the NIN

2.Everyone has to use a SIM card that is linked to NIN...making it easier to trace criminals.

Tracing criminals was never the objective of this law

Use to be good browser before....

Xiaomi is really dealing with these guys. I think all the Xiaomi fans did was open people's eyes. And I think it is working.

They are carrying the burden of Oppo, Umidigi, Huawei, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi and other smart products being blocked from the Nigerian marlet by the shitty Tecno and infinix phones.

Isolating it as a Xiaomi issue is nonsensical. Anybody who really understands the implications of phone specifications will be angry at the garbage Tecno and Infinix dump in Africa. Itel is not even in the picture.
