Business › Re: Forex Scarcity: Banks In Multi-million-dollar Racketeering by Sanchase: 12:21am On Feb 14, 2016
CBN is to be blamed but ex-CBN Governors couldn't have changed the current situation due to the large number of politicians who engaged in utilizing BDCs and Banks as a money laundering channel.

CBN governor has a duty of care to ensure the funds allocated to Banks get to end users being an average Nigerian, on the other hand this is an old issue that ex CBN governors have neglected over a long time due to the the way Forex is handled in Nigeria.

For instance, for over a decade the number of BDC outlets has grown from 500 to over 12,000 outlets. The division of power in Nigeria gives any acting CBN governor limited authority over those BDCs, if not for the Intervention of Buhari this time around, Nigeria would have utilized all of its Forex reserve by now.

Now, this issue of Banks hoarding Forex allocation designated for the general public has been ongoing for many years, Banks have been fueling black market with foreign currency for over 20 years.

The current government "said" it encourages whistle-blowing and "fights" corruption, this is the time for the current CBN governor to implement all those principles that seem impossible if he truly know what he is doing. Commercial Banks are running the Black market in this country and black markets have no economic benefit for the Nigerian government.

Personally i feel its best to conduct Forex sales directly to the general public and eliminate all middle men but CBN do not have that capacity yet.

pretts:
I totally agree with you...Imagine GTBank publishing that it sold some huge sum as BTA/PTA in the 1st two weeks of February, a bank known to never sell travel allowance even when it was $1 - #170...it's high time CBN starts taking its regulatory responsibilities seriously.

i don't see the need building flyovers when there was a road in existence..

This obiano should focus on job creation in Anambra, better hospitals and free Education in Anambra. Flyover 1, 2, 3, 4 to 10 will do no good to an average Anambrarian.

Some people don't just get it.

Ghost workers are represented by Individuals who manipulate names and receive salaries for non existing group of people.

What Kemi is saying implies those responsible for such act will be apprehended and made to pay up all the funds stolen from the government. Ghost workers don't just occur, there are people who initiated them so those people are responsible period.

Its better you arrange with a family relative or friend living in the same state as you for a temporary accommodation. What if the landlady out af anger decides to poison your food, everybody will come back on this forum and type "Chai" while you lay lifeless.

Some things are better avoided especially in a shared accommodation cos of grave consequences...

Well, We've been together since last year and I'm aware that her parents are based in US. She told me she was preparing for something big and said she wanted to make it a surprise. Two days to her leaving, she told me she won't be available for two days. Her cell will be off, and that I shouldn't worry. Well, since I travelled, I had no chance to check or do anything. After the two days break, she just called to tell me she had landed safely and I was like, where? Story short. She said she was scared of telling me because I'd be disappointed and that it was gonna affect me.
.
Well, she went to do her masters program and she won't be coming back till the end of the year because she already told me she doesn't wanna settle down in the US. Dunno what to do. I've been so pissed with her.

As much as Nnamdi Kanu incited members of the public to participate in a fight for democracy, he is not guilty of any crime. He is merely a freedom fighter who felt his voice will be heard and sees himself as the pioneer who will lead "Biafrans" to the promise land.

The Federal government should release him with a dialogue addressing future conduct and incitements. The British govt. is closely following his case and the Federal government need to either release Kanu or convict him, either way he will gain his freedom as conviction will get him repatriation to the United Kingdom to serve his jail term which in a democratic world is no offence.

Education › Re: Walden University Is On My Neck. by Sanchase: 8:13pm On Feb 09, 2016
Bros u dont have a problem. Live ur normal life and ignore the calls. The oyibo that contacted you is a marketer himself and would av got share of your money if you had paid. The lagos pple threatening you are just noisemakers.

Compliance:
Hi fellow nairalanders, I need urgent and serious advices. I applied for a masters degree at Walden online university in 2013, I always had one of their agents calling me to consider studying with them since I showed my interest. He suggested the course I should put in for. That was masters in public health administration. Sincerely, he was too really on my neck then and I got his calls almost everyday. I guess is a white man. He's always calling to intimate me of the processes, until I got the admission letter, at a point he asked if I could be paying monthly.

I was sent some hard copy textbooks too. I started a few classes online, but when I started it was entirely something, I attended about 3 classes, did an assignment but didn't click with the way things were going. I wasn't used to all online lecture stuffs. Besides, I didn't flow because the course was basically based on the American system of health care delivery. I am and agric graduate, that course was like Latin to me.

I then lodged a complain to an advisor that I couldn't cope and besides its difficult keeping with classses due to several Nigerian factors. He said he'll look into it. Since that time I stopped attending the online classes and stopped totally. I attended the class like 3 times or four before I stopped. My laptop was latter stolen some few weeks after that and all materials were even gone.

After about a year I was called to pay up my school fees, I was like, what school fees? I didnt understand, I never wrote a test or exam let alone of obtaining a certificate. I told them I stopped long ago. They sent a few mails too trying to threaten me to pay up or they'll involve a third party, after about another year, They sent me a mail again, and I replied them the same thing, I even told them I would send the textbooks back to them, to me that was the only thing I can say I'm oweing them or I pay for them so they won't say Nigerians are corrupt. I told them my plight, I stopped working, and had no means of livelihood, a graduate looking for job and trying to make ends meet.

Some weeks ago I was contacted by some agents in Lagos about my indebtedness and that I must pay, I repeated the same response and explained to them that I'll pay for the textbooks and that I only did few classes not up to three weeks. They replied me that I must pay for those classes and the books when I converted the bill to Naira, it was above 400k. I was at first laughing it off, but I got a reminder again tonight.

Please I need urgent advises on what my actions could be. That amount is far too outrageous, even if they sell all I have right now, t won't pay the bill. Anyone that has encountered similar issue should please help with suggestions.

Politics › Re: Corruption: Nigeria’s Most Wanted Suspect Lives In UK – Buhari by Sanchase: 10:57am On Feb 09, 2016
Whether Buhari talks about corrupt leaders in Nigeria or in a foreign land, it doesn't matter. Let's call black black, any person who has soiled their hands in corrupt practices deserves to be publicly humiliated.

Buhari is being open minded about the whole issue, there is need for openness in leadership to help understand who is accountable for various practices. The issue with Buhari is this, his probe on the past leaders are always insufficient and inconclusive. A person who embezzled $100 million was granted bail of N200 million naira, there is no correlation between $100 million and N200 million naira.

Secondly, the corrupt leaders charged to court such as Saraki should be stripped off the office of the Senate President and have their assets confiscated, buhari is failing to do such.

Celebrities › Re: Peter Okoye With Chelsea Players At Stamford Bridge Yesterday (Photos) by Sanchase: 6:53pm On Feb 08, 2016
No matter how wide and far PSquare have gone, it doesn't guarantee a picture with the players, Mikel surely played a huge part in getting the players to take part in the pictures.

Had it been Chelsea lost this game, there was no way these players will stand to take pictures thereby the mood of the players with plea bargain from Mikel helped. PSquare is huge but they are nothing compared to Premier league players such as Chelsea.
Politics › Re: Sanusi: Buhari’s FX Policy Encourages Corruption-thecable by Sanchase: 6:11pm On Feb 08, 2016
Sanusi you are an idiot Shut up and sit down. During your time as CBN governor which you didn't deserve, you only managed to make things worse by laying off Bankers causing job losses idiot.

Now, you are asking for devaluation of naira due to activities of black marketers, what an idiot. Do you have sense at all, the problem is that Nigeria don't utilise good economists in short, medium and long term decisions.

Devaluation should never happen rather the fed govt need to exercise very strict control on forex and sell directly.

This is a bitter truth, 95 percent of Nigerian girls taken abroad by their spouse end up in failed marriage.

My guy if you can manage to keep the gal ln naija and visit her every 4 months then send her $100 every month your dignity will last forever.

oshaosha2014:
That is how it is most of the time; a lady that was humble before, when she gets to america, she learns that she can push her man out of the house whether she's at fault or not. she starts misbehaving so that she can trap you with the feminist law over there. If she bleeps a stranger right before your eyes, the law over there don't recognise that. But if you make her angry or annoy her, the law will come after you and take it full course.

OP, take your wife along with you. And please, when you get a divorce or she gets you jailed, I want that update here please.

If paraventure she didn't maltreat treat you or force you out of your own house because she is a woman, then accept my apologies in advance.

This is what's happens most of the time. You will be a lucky man if you don't end up like several other guys who made the mistake of taking a woman from to there.
