Foreign AffairsRe: Russia Strike Kills ISIL Leader Baghdadi In Syria by sanerugwei(op):
This news has now been confirmed.

LONDON -- A London-based monitoring group with a solid history of accurately reporting incidents from inside war-torn Syria said Tuesday that it had been able to confirm the death of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Russia said in June that there was a "high degree of probability" al-Baghdadi had been killed in a Russian airstrike at the end of May. Moscow first made the claim on June 16, saying it had evidence he was among a group of ISIS leaders targeted at a meeting just outside the terror group's de facto capital in Raqqa, Syria.

BTW Christians and Muslims worship one God

The person who came up with that text on your profile don't believe in God.
What you have said is not correct. If they worship the same God, they wont be two different religions.
Don't get it twisted, true Christians know who they worship.
True mohammedians also know who their god really is.

For those that put the text forcing people to accept such, I will say its very childish and doesn't mean a thing.
Why not create a secret sub forum for those kind of threads where only coded people can see and comment on.

So 14% to 18.5% for FGN Savings bond to CBN NTB at near zero risks is nothing to you? These rates are reflective of the current inflationary rates and its really not good for the economy and most importantly the citizenry, to have doube digit inflation rates.

WOW!. I greatly appreciate this Megawax. Just checked the modification. One can apply for treasury bills through a bank, right?

If it's as high as 18.7%...that's great! Would definitely invest soon. Must one buy January or you can buy at any time in the year?
You can buy at any time from the secondary market offerings from any of the banks. The banks with the best rates so far are IBTC, 1st Bank and then GTB hovers around 18.1% per annum.

For primary market it is done bi-weekly, no need to wait unless you have 50M and above to directly invest in primary auction.
Otherwise walk into any of the banks and ask for secondary auction for FG/CBN treasury bills.
Note: The higher the tenure the better the returns, plus you can liquidate at any time too.

Christianity EtcRe: Are Muslims Going To Heaven? - Daddy Freeze Gives An Answer by sanerugwei: 11:37am On May 16, 2017
If I have to weigh in on this, I will have to make some simple pronouncements which many avoid or gloat over, or worse still , many take these for granted.

Number 1: Jesus Christ did start a religion, He only came to show the way;

Number 2: Christians are those who follow and imbibe the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ;

Number 3: Christianity is not a religion, it is a way of life, and those who follow the way and lifestyle of Christ are the true Christians;

Number 4: There is a difference between kingdom of heaven and kingdom of God;

Refer to the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus as outlined below:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Back to the discuss, the pure in heart will see God, and God will be seen through them.
The peacemakers are also called the children of God,(those who harbor hate and kill in the name of religion will not make this list.)

Religion is man trying to seek or please God through his actions, and works, like fasting, penance, etc. There is a religious part of Christianity but not the other way round. Christianity is God reaching out to man.

Most times our leaders are not to blame but the residents and users of such places.
That Marketers in mile 12 are majorly the hausas.. Ambode sometime last yr wanted to relocate that market but the Hausas pleaded that the market should not be relocated even kwankaso had to be in Lagos to see Ambode...
If the users of such a place as Mile 12 can't take care of the environment then it's no fault of the givt
A leader should always do the right thing for the good of the majority. If there is an outbreak of deadly disease as a result of the dirty environment, will Kwankwanso whoever suffer it.
The governor needs to be firm and clean up the place. I understand Rome was not built in a day, but in this the local autorities are to be blamed, and the final buck stops at the governor's table.

This is completely false.

If your account has N40 million and you bid to buy TB of N50 million for 364 days at 20%, the entire N40 million is debited from your account and on maturity, N50 million is paid back to your account. There is no smart N10 million anywhere to be added to make the N60 million you talked about. Remember that your account had N40 million. So if you bid for N50 Million at 20%, the N10 million upfront interest didnt remain in your account because your acount initially had N40 million and not N50 million. If your account had 50 Million, then the N10 million upfront interest will be in your account while N40 million is debited.

There is no smart way that 20% yield will give you N60 million from N40 million. That's like saying you got yield of 50%. that is not true.

There are two scenarios here

scenario 1: You had N40 million in your account and you bid for N50 million at 20%. All the N40 million is taken and at the end of maturity, you are paid N50 million. Money moved from N40 million to N50 million. shikena

Scenario 2: You had N50 million in your account and you bid for N50 million TB at 20%. N10 million interest is paid upfront and left in your account while N40 million is debited from your account. On maturity, N50 Million is paid back. If you reinvest your N10 million, you get N2 million extra which brings the total interest to N12 million. Money moved from N50 million to N62 million.

None of these scenarios can make you up your money from N40 million to N60 million.
Thanks boss, I couldn't have said it better.

don't be faster then your shadow bro,lol
you will need to find out the workings of your bank before trying to outsmart them. As with first bank, the moment you submit your bid request, the money will be debited from your account immediately. if the bid was successful, you get your interest paid upfront.
in this case, if you applied this approach with first bank by placing a bid of 1m when u have just 825k in your account, I am sorry to say it would be declined.
However not all banks debit you immediately you submit your request, which is what you should find out from your bank.
I asked this same question a long time ago because I wanted to outsmart them,lol.
so dnt be faster than your shadow
I specifically said this works with GTB.
I do not understand First Bank's rationale for withdrawing the whole amount at first then paying back the upfront interest after the bid.
What do you mean by outsmart, you made it sound like some dubious operation. It isn't.

It was raised earlier in this thread but someone tried it out in one bank and it didn't work out that way. But that would've been the best way anyways. You could also try it and let us know about your findings.
It works.
At least with GTB its acceptable as long as you give leg room for funds to cover all expenses.
In the example, I gave extra 5k for charges, you can as well leave like 20-50k, assuming instead of 18%, they went a bit lower.
So you will still have funds to cover same.
It was easier when you gave your own rate but with the new policy, you cannot but play safer.
But, it works.

When you invest in NTB, permit me to assume so you understand better not the real deal..
Let's say you invest 1m for 18% for a 364 days tenure, 18% of 1m gives 180k pry school maths lol, your upfront Interest which is the said 180k is left in your account as your interest (upfront since it's paid at the beginning of your 364 days tenor).. but what is taken from your account is 1m - 180k = 720k, 720k is taken from your account and your interest has been paid already. At the expiration of your 364 days tenor, your account would be credited back with the 1m you originally invested.
In all, you've got #1,180,000 but remember you already got your interest of #180k at the beginning of the investment.

You could use the power of compound interest in your favour by re-investing your profit of 180k. If you bid through first bank there is a column were you could specify if you want your interest to be reinvested or you wait for two weeks for the next auction. Hope this help

N.B: I didn't take note of commission fee, safe keeping fee, transfer fee and others for this explanation.
If you ain't cleared refer to the beginning pages of this thread. Regards
What if you bid higher than the amount in your account, isn't that better than reinvesting the upfront interest.
Eg. I have 825k, I can decide to bid for 1M because at 18% that 180k interest add transactions costs too, they will just deduct that amount or thereabouts.
On maturity, you get credited 1M.
