RomanceRomance Scene In A Play by santony2k(op): 1:16am On Oct 24, 2007
Imagine you were told to come up with a romance scene in a play. What would the scene be like? This scene is like in a theater not in a movie, so the audience responds to you. Plus, there isn't a build up like the movies. smiley Also no sex involved smiley Just the idea of sex afterwards keeps the audience entertained.

My Scene
The girl sitting down on a chair. Music is playing in the background
I walk in with a little swagger, holding roses and chocolates, oils and stuff, and a bottle of wine/champagne
Then I walk over to her, kiss her slowly on the hand She blushes
Then I Proceed to give her the rose and pour the wine into a glass 4 her
After that, I start to rub her feet with the massage oils and slowly work my way up
At the shoulders, I whisper something the audience cannot hear, but she blushes.
End it with a nice little toast. Scene fades to black

How many people de read the newspapers you're talking about. If Newspapers can help, I think they've had more than enough years to try to help, abi all those editors are millionaires as well? Just something else to try. It wouldn't hurt, would it.

The way I see it, when the petitions reach 1 million signatures, some international news corp like BBC would gladly do a 10 mins editorial on it, then maybe we can hand it over to Newsday to publish. Or better yet, they will see it themselves on TV.

We need to start eating popcorn while we watch Nigeria movies more often.

Why isn't Nigeria big on land phone?
PoliticsPetitions! by santony2k(op): 3:18pm On Aug 16, 2007
I found this website online called iPetitions. They let you start petitions for free. I started one to see if it works. People please sign the petition and start your own realistic ones as well. If you get enough traffic on your petition, I'm sure CNN will make a big deal out of it.

The President cannot turn a deaf ear when BBC and CNN are breathing down your throat. Lets pray it works. I'm tired of voicing my opinion just for fun. No offense but talkign about all the problems we have is not doign anything for the country. If a million people sign the petition, lets see if they still ignore the problem then.

PoliticsRe: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by santony2k(m): 2:40pm On Aug 16, 2007
I think it'll beneficial in the overall sense. It will have an indirect effect on our economy. They wouldn't be able to say that "a lot of Nigerians live on less than $2 a day."-for long.

People, we should now start to do more to help the economy, like opening up manufacturing companies in Nigeria instead of service oriented businesses. Most people that I know that are going back want to open up some type of commercial business to generate personal wealth. We should start making more of the stuff we need for survival at quality on par with developed nations. Why can't we make cars in Nigeria? I'm sure those guys in Ojuelegba and all those thugs wouldn't mind working in a plant if they're treated well. They wouldn't even mind moving to a little town to work if the job is stable.

My point is, anything to help is a step in the right direction. We can manufacture stuff for those other countries in Africa that are at war - thus helping our economy, instead we import it from China - Nigeria, then from Nigeria - Wherever.

What did Dele Giwa do again? Who is Saro Wiwa? grin grin grin

I know who they are, but I'm damn sure my sister doesn't and I only know them by mistake.

@Topic
I can only die once, so I have to think about that. Get back on you in 70 yrs.

I dont think the airline has control over turbulence. They don't make the clouds, so dont be scared of domestic flight, worry more about international flights cuz, the turbulence will be happening over the ocean, whereas on domestic, if youre lucky you have mroe of a chance of survival in case of incasity

Thank you jare

Did you read it though? If you did, what is your opinion? OR should I say where do you stand on the matter. Its too long for me to read, I just read some of the things I thought was relevant.
FoodRe: The First Time You Cooked? by santony2k(m): 6:26pm On Aug 15, 2007
@babyosisi

To cook Jollof Rice in the oven is easy and even better. The rice will almost always come out crisp.

Use your regular big pot (Preferably - Agbari Ojukwu)

When the rice is half way done and you've added all the condiments,
Preheat your oven to 350 - 375
let it boil a little longer until you can just peep the top of the rice like its about done soaking up the water
(For best result use low heat to cook the rice)
Take it off and put it in the oven
For extra garnish, put in a couple of bay leaves.

Check it at regular intervals, say every 20 mins until its done.

I think that should help you get started. If you messed up the first time, try again. adjusting as necessary (which is the true Nigeria way)
PoliticsRe: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by santony2k(m): 5:28pm On Aug 15, 2007
Let him do what he thinks will work. If it doesn't work, well too bad, but atleast he tried. But if it does work, we can move to doing other things to strenghten our economy.

By "work', i mean if the transition is smooth.

And if we successfully strenghten our economy, do you know what that means? Naira will then be of more value than dollar on a "N1 = $1" basis!

The thing we should be concerned about is how to improve our economy. If you have a genuine opinion or way, I'm sure Soludo would be glad to hear you out.

Would love to be there. Might pass out though (can't stand the sight of any other person's blood but mine), but would still be there just for moral support. When the baby is old enough, I can say, "I born you"! And also the mom will feel like super woman, when I'm screaming more than she is.
Hopefully the doctors don't kick me out.

First time I remember cooking was making "Obe ata" for Rice. I cooked rice and then found out there was no more stew. My sis convinced me to make "Ata din din" since we were all hungry. Men, did I fry the crap outta the stew or what? Kept it on the frying pan forever, oil splattering everywhere, too much salt, but the stew was tasty as hell. Told my sis to use and unsalty mouth to eat it so that way there would be a balance in the meal. And the meat, ? Another story!

Thats a big, huge(humongous) gap. thats a 7 year difference my friend. Not a good estimate of time. I dont buy the project if the time frame you said is correct.
TV/MoviesRe: Review Any Movie by santony2k(m): 7:11pm On Aug 13, 2007
@ iice,
I'm talking about Lord of War, I think God of war is a computer game. If you're indeed talking about Lord of War, you didnt like the end when he was in jail and the detective that has been trying to catch him finally caught him and was interrogating him? He was now describing what would happen next and that was exactly what happened. I found that to be really entertaining.

Also 1408 was , wack to the mack (if that made sense). It was a good actor in a bad screenplay.
RomanceDo You Regret A Chance Not Taken? by santony2k(op): 7:03pm On Aug 13, 2007
Well, hope someone hasn't started a similar thread (cuz I searched and found none)

Do you guys (or girls) feel bad or even regret it sometimes when you look back and see you missed so many opportunities to talk to someone you might have been interested in because you were either shy, in a situation or from just having an empty brain. (by empty brain, meaning you couldn't think straight).

I type this now cuz I was bored and decided to chill at the pool when a couple of spanish guys and girls came over. One cute girl was swimming with me and I knew I should have taken the chance but then you can never tell if that dude is her boyfriend or her brother's friend etc. and then you start trouble by talking to her. So I said my hi and my cute smile smiley and let it be.

Now, I'm thinking of what could have been. Am I alone? Cuz I think this happens a lot.
TV/MoviesRe: Review Any Movie by santony2k(m): 3:42pm On Aug 13, 2007
One of my fav movie is still "Lord Of War" by Nicholas Cage. Just gets me. Also "Children of Men". If you didnt see Lord of war, rent it on DVD, ASAP.

Die Hard was unrealistic at best. Most of the action was "out of this world" exaggerated. The Bruce Willis action movies doesn't get me anymore.

Transformer was tight. But felt the graphics needed a week more for some last minute finishing touches, because sometimes the transformers especially Optimus, looked different sizes in different scenes. (e.g. On top of the building)

Bourne Ultimatum is in a league of its own.

The Illusionist, The Prestige, The Departed. Get it on DVD!

First time on an Airplane? Hmmmm,

I was like 13 and me and my siblings were travelling to the US.
O'boy, nawa for naija airways of that time oh. After all the excitement and freedom at last from family and friends at the airport, they delayed us for abotu 8 hrs with no food, water, even the airplane's power was turned off.

To finally lift off meant the hostess were there and the food was coming - was more hungry than excited at that moment. I didnt feel anything until my ears started to hurt from jetlag. But apart from that it was all good.

I love window sit, just looking outside and admiring God's work through the work of humans (building a flying object).

Yeah, what happened to Fanta Chapman. That is still my favorite drink of all time even though it wasn't available in the market for long!
Christianity EtcRe: Breaking News : No More Trousers For Redeemed Ladies, Adeboye Orders by santony2k(m): 8:43pm On Aug 08, 2007
I think the issue here is not that women wear trousers to church, but that some of them wear it in an inappropriate way (too tight etc).

Sure the church went to the extreme to tackle the situation (which doesn't neccessary solve the problem) but we must remember its a church. If you don't like it, there are a million others out there that would accept you for who you are. I guess the RCCG doesn't want to accept you.

So, all those girls that need deliverance can't go to RCCG again. Try CAC if they'll let you in.

PoliticsRe: Dress Code In Benue; Ladies Banned From Wearing Trousers! by santony2k(m): 9:22pm On Aug 07, 2007
Ok, I'll like to contribute my 2 cents after reading all seven pages.

This is ridiculous. My beloved country is turning into something else. Let's stop deceiving ourselves here people, WE ARE A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. "Developing" my ass. WE have a long way to go.

But as per the topic, when people are getting paid to do unnecessary things like banning people from wearing trousers, you realize they have too much time on their hand. Instead of tackling that issue. All those involved should wear gloves and pick up the dirt on the floor and clean the gutter. ALL off them will make a huge difference if they did that for only a day.

Thank you. (my 2 cents)
