Mrskolapo1:Nope. Mine is academic job. Lecturing. |
Mrskolapo1:After job offer, I was sent some steps to follow including DBS check. At some point, I demanded when COS will be issued then I was told to wait. 7 weeks wait appeared long but I didn't have a choice. In between, I got my TB test, mobilised funds for IHS n visa fee, did ECCTIS and police clearance etc. |
Joshtoch:Thanks for the reply. Yours was 12 working days. Mine is now 16WD. I guess yours is a healthcare related job ? Anyway, 16WD is too long. Ill keep hoping it comes soon enough. |
COS came after 7 weeks of job offer

|
Do you mind sharing details like: Date of visa applic Date of Biometric: Date it was sent from DMC to Vac For mine: Visa applic: April 4 Biometrics: April 8 Visa still being awaited. Joshtoch: |
Emurate1:15 workings days= approx 3 calendar weeks. Where there are public holidays, it then becomes more than 3 calendar weeks. My earlier post was "working days" |
Hello house, Has anyone (or you know anyone who) submitted work/study visa from Mid march and got a visa or waiting for outcome? I want to have idea of the turnaround time. The standard work visa is 15 working days but there has been delays. I just want to have an idea of how long the delays have been. |
I am even looking at maybe factory work, packagaing etc. that would reflect on NI. Is it possible? Lexusgs430: |
Apart from online gigs et al., are there part time jobs one can do in UK that wont reflect on your NI? For example casual jobs where you get paid by hand? Lexusgs430: |
Thanks so much . erico2k2: |
Hello house, I need help with accommodation in Loughborough from May 2. I am willing to pay any reasonable amount as it will be cheaper than hotel/airbnb. Any location from Loughborough to Nottingham will be fine. |

Hello House, Is there anyone who recently resumed at any of the following universities: University of Nottingham Nottingham Trent University University of Loughborough? I need some counsel from someone schooling or residing in that axis. Thanks |
Does Lagos tls accept walk-in submissions? I had to submit my visa application today outside Nigeria and the submission fee was charged by TLS-almost-N96k naira equivalent. ON their booking system, self-service slots were either non-existent or only 1 per day for several weeks away. I needed to submit for a family of 4. It costs over N440k to submit visa lasan... This UK system is just collecting money anyhow. HAs anyone had such similar experience? |
VirileNelly2420:Most of the land is empty, not inhabited. Not much of mineral resources either. It's the reason Moscow and St Petersburg are the main popular cities. Others places are sprsely populated. The entire Eastern part of Russia for example is like ghost land as you move from one area to other across long distances. |
Your analysis is bogus. RUssia is bigger than the whole of the US. Bigger in what sense? Landmass? Of what value is the landmass? Russia can start their own world? MIgrate to MArs and colonise it? JUst like china? Which world is china "doing"? Chinese elites who love liberty are migrating to the west en-masse. IF not for business, people like Ali Baba will acquire US citizenship. The majority of Russia's land is unhabitable, not resource-rich and hence their economy is not as big as Germany for example. In fact, combining the economy of China+Russia+India, it is still smaller than the economy of the USA alone. China's economy is largely dependent on manufacturing-process that can be replicated elsewhere if hostilities begin with the west. China wont risk its economic freedom in the defence of Russia. HEllo house, I have money in my Nigerian account but I want to make online payment denominated in South African Rands. What channels can I use? Any idea what the exchange rate could be. I need to pay up to R30,000. Thanks |
milkytins:It was indeed more. Apparently, my visa duration will have an added 4 months, so they add the health surcharge for that half year. I was thinking I will pay around 624*3, for 3 yr visa, I ended up paying over about 2184 pounds which is plus an extra 312 thereabout. UK money collection strategy is on a different level oo |
ariesbull:Don't insult people simply because they express a differing opinion. I don't know you but I know your sense is very limiting. All that EU uses gas for can be substituted. Its called energy mix. |
annieberl:No. It is an academic appointment. A lecturing job. This thread has been valuable to me in the last few months hence my keeping tabs. I just wanted to assure people that the time interval between a job offer and CoS could be quite lengthy. Cheers |
I got mine yesterday. Job offer was Feb 2. CoS APRIL 1. EXPected resumption date is May 3. I think it was delayed deliberately, maybe because of backlogs. akaprince: |
You are correct. But dont forget that when Russia is unable to earn massive income from gas supply to Europe, it will double down. It will hurt Russia more and quicker than hurt Europe which is paying more when alternative supply route is available. mach7: |
EU is already in Spring. They cant freeze to death. Ahead of next winter, EU should strategise. Use of coal, vegetable oil are quick options aside from the massive importation of liquified natural gas. Let Russia lock the taps and we see for how long the Russian economy can stay afloat without revenue when foreign reserves are already frozen. Let's also see how it can sustain a war under such local stringent home economy conditions. EU can give tax waivers for the importation of LNG to keep the prices lower. These countries survive extensive months of general lockdown for several months. We will see who shifts ground first. Airbus used cooking oil to fly plane. The end is coming to petroleum holding the world to ransom. https://www.bbc.com/pidgin/tori-60945602#:~:text=Airbus%20say%20e%20don%20complete,cooking%20oil%20and%20waste%20fats. Necessity is the mother of invention. During WW2, the development of the atomic bomb became a matter of urgency. MAybe Putin's war will trigger the development of alternatives to petroleum on a global scale. Good luck to all Russians for delayed salary payments from May/June. |
I am also trying to get details of this payment. MIne is not health related visa but still a skilled visa. If I intend to apply as a family, does it mean a 3 year visa will cost me: Adult: £624 x 3X 2 adults + Kids: £470 X 3 years X 2 persons That is a whooping £6564 for health surcharge alone. How will the visa fee look like? I need information from those with experience in the house. milkytins: |
milkytins:Humm...ok o... I have resigned my previous job o and I need to resume new position to earn. They must respond sharp sharp oo |
Hello house, I need guidance on these issues 1. Has anyone got a Job offer but CoS is delayed. What can cause delay in issuance of CoS? Offer came letter came Feb 2. Expected resumption date is May 3. I am still waiting for CoS as at 30-03-2022. 2. Anyone applied for the global talent visa instead of the normal Tier II skilled work visa for an academic position. I read one can apply for endorsement alongside Visa application in the global talent visa. If endorsement is not granted, will they consider the person for another visa type like the Tier II visa? I am asking this for a Lecturing Position (with PhD) in the UK. I will appreciate your comments and advice. Thanks |
THis thread seems to be cold. Anybody around please??
Thanks so much broi am still expecting the CoS oo...I have all the documents ready. Atast, Ecctis, TB and Police clearance . The school seems to be delaying. What could cause a University to delay issuance of CoS? By the way, if the CoS is issued as it's Tier 2, do you suggest I ask them to modify it to global talent? T for Thanks sir. |
Thanks so much. I also was setting my expectation on the 10 days thing. HAving submitted, I saw they set the expected result for 30 working days. I really need the outcome faster but I dont think i want to pay for the 48 hrs thing, By the way, it is cheaper to write IELTS UKVI than paying this ECCTIS. DeeOneBangin: |
Hello guys, How long did it get to get through the ECCTIS certification. I see on their website that it takes 30 working days. Could the outcome be earlier without paying the fast track? |
dee1504: Please permit me to ask: Are there pathways for a caregiver to transition into a full fledge professional nurse. Are there training opportunities within UK that alllow studying nursing while working as a caregiver. Most people moving from Nigeria are middle aged (25-40). Each person will have aspirations for career mobility. What options exist? |
Hello, house, If somebody without a formal health-related qualification manages to secure a caregiver job in the UK, are there Nursing colleges or other institutions where one can professionalize and become a qualified nurse. Are there nursing schools (or equivalent colleges) that one can attend while working? I think this will be very crucial for all people who want to change careers to health care permanently. Any suggestion of such schools/colleges in the UK? |
