It was gathered by , that the deceased was abducted, raped and murdered by a 28-year-old man from Lusaka, in Dan Village, on February 19.
The suspect was assaulted and stoned to death by angry mob after he confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, Lmpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale said it is very troubling that incidents of gender-based violence and feminicide continue in the province.
MEC Rakgoale was speaking on Friday, February 25, when she visited the family of the victim.
She called upon the public and civil society to join the government in the fight against the scourge.
Some suspected cultists on the police wanted list have been apprehended in Ogun State’s Ijebu-Ode area.
The five suspects were reportedly apprehended on February 22 while plotting another horrific attack at their hideaway along Molipa.
Segun Olabiyi (aka Koleje), Musa Atanda (aka Musa sars), Olorunjuedalo Adewale, Olamide Odewole, and Peter Anuoluwapo Akinyemi are the suspects, according to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State police spokesman.
According to Oyeyemi, the suspects were apprehended when police at Ijebu Ode’s Obalende division got intelligence that hoodlums, allegedly belonging to the Aiye Confraternity, had congregated in groups at the rear of De Prime Hotel in preparation for a fatal attack. As a result, the DPO of the Obalende division, SP Salami Murphy, mobilized his men and headed to the scene.
“On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums engaged them in a gun battle but they were subdued by the superior firepower of the policemen,” Oyeyemi said, adding that this led to the arrest of the five suspects as others escaped with bullets injuries.
A local gun, two live cartridges and assorted criminal charms were recovered at the scene of the gun duel.
Preliminary investigation, according to Oyeyemi, revealed that the suspects had been actively involved in various cult clashes that had claimed many lives, including that of a serving policeman, Sgt Akeem Oseni, attached to Igbeba division.
“Their trademark according to their confession is to cut off the right hand of their victims after killing them. They also confessed to have been involved in some robbery operation in Ijebu-Ode and its environs and that one of their prominent leaders simply known as PERTH was killed in one of the robbery operations,” Oyeyemi said.
immortalcrown: I did not bring tribalism into the thread. I pointed out the fact that crimes increase because people often use tribalism to trivialize crimes. If I had said the rape happened because the place is in the North, that would mean bringing tribalism into the post.
If I had said the constitution or the government should condemn the man to death, would you have said I am bringing politics or government into a rape thread?
If I had said religious leaders should begin to seriously preach against rape, would you have said I brought religion into a rape case?
If another commenter reacts to the rape by condemning bad things teachers do in schools, will you accuse the commenter of bringing education into the thread?
Because I said people should put tribalism away and begin to seriously address the issues affecting humanity, you claim I brought tribalism into the thread. Is rape not a crime? Don't the things I mentioned affect crimes? Or, is rape the only crime that requires attention?
immortalcrown: This post is in crime section. Everything I said relates to crime. There is no rape section on Nairaland. What you should do to prove me wrong is to factually deny the points I made. Do people not blame tribes instead of addressing the actual causes of crimes?
You derailed the thread by bringing tribalism into it. You could create a thread for tribalism and we discuss over it. Seun made creating of threads free of charge. Create thread on tribalism and those interested in such discussion will contribute
immortalcrown: This is why evil keeps dominating. You narrow your mind to only what touches your emotion at the moment. Your sentiment blinds you to the truth. The bad mentality or ideology responsible for rape is also responsible for other things destroying humanity. Is rape the only evil in our society? What about ritual killings? A ritual killer can easily resort to rape. A rapist can easily resort to ritual killing. A rapist can easily resort to cultism.
When bad things that should be condemned happened in Biafra, tribalists blame IPOB and ESN. If those things happen in Yoruba, tribalists will blame Tinubu or say "skull miners". If those things happen in the North, tribalists will blame abokis or say "Sai Baba".
All I try to achieve in my main comment is to condemn the tribal hate and draw people's attention to what needs to be done so we can possibly enjoy this world.
Create threads for ritual, cultism and other vices. This thread is for rape. Bringing other problems here would shift people's attention from the main subject.
I am fighting against rape and crime against women. Stop frustrating my effort. Thanks
immortalcrown: Is perversion only about politics? Maybe you do not understand English well. The bad mentality that makes politics bad is also responsible for rape, robbery and kidnapping.
I meant you shouldn't bring nonsense tribal war into a sensitive thread.
immortalcrown: That region is... But IPOB and ESN get all the hateful attention as if there is no problem in other regions. There are serious problems in every region. Put tribalism away and think of the way forward. Humanity is sick. Mankind is dying. Perversion is dominating the world.
@Romanoff this is the 7th news about rape I have read/seen today. And all the culprits are Nigerian men. Like I earlier said, if you see a news about a Nigerian woman raping someone pls mention me on the thread.
A 28-year-old teacher, Umar Mohammed, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old, Khadijat, in Diri, Yar Karau Village, Sakaba Local Council of Kebbi State.
The State Commandant, Umar Musa Bala, while addressing journalists said the suspect is a teacher at the NYSC Nursery and Primary School Diri, a school where Khadijat is a pupil.
The suspect confessed to have lured the minor from her house into his room at about 10 am on the pretence of sending her on an errand only to defile her in addition to offering her fifty-naira gift.
khadijat’s younger brother, Abdulrahman, narrated the whereabouts of the victim to his mother, and the mother notified the men of the NSCDC at the Sakaba division, for further investigation.
Mohammed confessed to the offence and a medical report from a state government hospital also confirmed there was a penetration.
The state commandant advised parents to be watchful and be observant of their wards against evil-minded people like Mohammed.
Bala also urged the general public never to sweep any gender related offences under the carpet for religious, tribe and familiarity sentiments.

An 18-year-old girl, Blessing John, has been arrested by the police while she was searching for a ritualist to buy a boy she kidnapped in Adamawa State.
Blessing reportedly lured the boy (name withheld) from her neighbourhood in Michika and took him to Mubi in search of a buyer.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the suspect was arrested following a tipoff.
Nguroje said the teenager told police investigators that she abducted the boy to raise money to buy a car and live a luxurious life.
“She took the little boy to Mubi to sell, but when she could not reach the buyers on phone, she decided to search for another buyer. She ended up talking to the wrong person, who in turn informed the police,” he said.
According to him, the teenager got in contact with a kidnapper during her recent visit to Mubi when a friend told her she could make money by supplying children to ritualists and human traffickers.
Nguroje called on parents to look after their wards and report suspicious persons and movements to the nearest security post.
Romanoff: I don't have an answer to your question but then, there are women who also abuse minors (rape).
I don't believe in making generalizations, else I'd be guilty of what I'm accusing others for.
Mention me on a thread where Nigerian woman commits rape crime and drop your acct no on the thread I will reward you. I give you till Sunday to do that.
A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered Audu Dare, 28, to be held in a detention center for the death of his six-year-old daughter, Ayomide.
According to the charge, the defendant, on February 19, 2022, in Ilawe Ekiti, “reasonably suspected to have murdered his six-year-old daughter, Ayomide, contrary to and punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap. C16 Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.”
The mother of the deceased, Eniola Aina, in her statement to the police, said she got married to the defendant some years ago, adding that the marriage was blessed with a child.
She noted that she left Dare’s house four years ago due to his “nonchalant and carefree attitude.”
Aina said, “On the fateful day, he came to my house in Ilawe Ekiti and requested to take out the deceased, which I obliged. He returned the girl around 12am and left. Shortly after that, the deceased began to complain of headaches and ache in her private parts. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she told me ‘my father raped me”. She eventually died on the second day.”
Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, the police prosecutor, who urged the court to remand the defendant, said, “Granting the order will allow the police to complete their investigation and forward the duplicate case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.”
The Chief Magistrate, Bankole Oluwasanmi, in his ruling, said the defendant “is hereby ordered to be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services, Ado Ekiti, while the case is adjourned till March 23, 2022, for mention.”
