An acclaimed pastor in charge of Life and Power Bible Church Ogijo, Mathew Oladapo, has been arrested for “forcefully having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 19-year-old member of the church during a deliverance session.

DAILY POST learnt that the unnamed woman had reported to the police at Ogijo police division that the Pastor, on February 20, told her that he saw a vision that she (the victim) had a ‘spiritual husband’, which she needed to be freed from.

The woman was said to have also told the police that the suspect prescribed three nights of fasting and prayer, which must be done in the church, for total deliverance.

She added that the suspect told her to come to the church with N1,000 note and a bottle of anointing oil.

The Ogun State Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen on Wednesday that, “on the first night of the fasting and prayer, the woman was taken to a room within the church where the pastor ordered her to pull off her clothes and undies and lay down on a piece of cloth on the floor which she obeyed.”

Oyeyemi stated that, “While lying on the floor, the pastor started rubbing the anointing oil on her body and inserted his finger into her private part.

After her report, the DPO of Ogijo division, CSP Onatufe Umoh was said to have detailed detectives to the scene, where the pastor was arrested.

Oyeyemi disclosed that the said pastor, while being interrogated, “confessed to the crime, but claimed to have been overwhelmed by a spirit.”

Meanwhile, Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole had ordered the transfer of the suspect to the Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State CIID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

Men of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 43-year-old man identified as Ovie Oktogbo alleged to specialize in raping male children/ teenagers between the ages of 10 to 15years.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the alleged rapist who is a father of three who resides at No. 15 Ugboguhi Street Off Uwasota, Ugbowo, Benin City, and works as a security guard in the area, specializes in using N100 to N200 to lure his unsuspecting victims who are children and teenagers between the ages of 10 to 15years and have an unnatural carnal knowledge of them through their anus by applying a bleaching cream on both his manhood and the victim's anus as the case may be, for easy penetration.

Luck ran out on him as one of his victim ‘M’ 13years (name withheld) fell ill with swollen feet, face and pus all over his body. Medical examination revealed that his liver and kidney is damaged as a result of a certain chemical contained in bleaching creams.

Upon further inquiry by the victim's parents, he confessed that a certain man in the area forced his way and forcibly had carnal knowledge of him. He said it was in that process that he applied the cream in his anus, hence the report to the police.

On receipt of the information the operatives of the command immediately swung into action arrested Ovie Oktogbo ‘M’ who is cooperating with investigation. He confessed to have defiled nine (9) boys in the area. Six (6) have already been identified and their parents also made a formal complaint to the commissioner of police to that effect while three (3) out of the nine (9) children are yet to be identified.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Kontongs Bello, says the state Commissioner Of Police, CP Philip Aliyu Ogbadu, while lamenting over the behavior of the suspect, reminded parents, guardians and the society of its social responsibility of guiding, protecting and teaching young children the way of life. He said society can only thrive when these children are protected from the menace of immoral/ criminal members of society.

The suspect will soon be arraign in court at the end of the investigation.

Nollywood actor, Ugezu J Ugezu, has stirred reactions after he shared his opinion on doing a DNA test to confirm the paternity of a child.

Taking to his Instagram page on Monday, February 21, the thespian noted that the issue of DNA has tore many homes apart. According to him, carrying out a DNA test on a child is not an African thing.

He noted that any child who calls an African man father is an African man’s child, and that was how our forefathers lived their lives and enjoyed peace of mind.
