trustyshoess: Lol it's a language, not logic. That's just how it is. Every language has things that don't really make sense when you think about True though but a language should make sense. Just like the language of maths and some of our local languages. Why took for take but made for make. I think the logic is in the sound. But even dog would have sounded befitting today if we called a goat by it. Smh. Confused language. Smh. |

That's my grouse with English. It is more about how it appeals to the ear than how it appears logically. English Language is not Logical. If the h is silent and shouldn't affect pronunciation, what then is it doing there? Why write it there? What does if add to the language? |

zlantanfan: I understand the complexity of the country and frankly the Israelis could have shown some restraint but at least you understand that protectiveness or over proactiveness is their saving grace till now especially when they have mixed identities still pathetic to Hama's living with them
In a nutshell the world has pressing issues even within the Arab state where aljazeera practices its "journalism". Their own reporter Mohammed Hussein has been in Egyptian jail if not killed for over 2years, yet the same aljazeera isn't bothered by that including the numerous dictatorship that kills, jails citizens from Egypt Iran, Jordan etc.
Its priorities according to one of its documentary is that Israel is the destabilizer of progress in the middle east.
A minute nation in the midst of beasts like Iran,Syria that publicly vows to annihilate them. Yeah. It's very bad. I think Al-Jazeera doesn't like them too but they've not shown enough hatred to be in that spot. They tell you about the attacks by Hamas and also tell you of the harsher response from Israel. I think the hatred for Israel has even gone beyond the Arab world to the Islamic world. Most, if not all, Nigerian Muslims hate Israel and the same hate is shown to Arabs by our Christian population. The war is too complex and I've thought countless times how it can be stopped but got nothing. It is very complex and only a free mind without any iota ego or bad blood will stop it...Qualities years of wickedness has denied both States. To be honest, I don't think the war will ever end. Their. temperaments and ego will not allow peace. |

zlantanfan: I disagree on aljazeera, the Israeli propangada they do is enormous they basically are reporting on Gaza every 30mins with a one sideded approach, they have al nakba, and war in June which are current one sideded documentary for Palestine, they keep airing these everyday.
They have enough correspondents in Gaza and all their analyst are Iran sympathetic.
Their only correspondent in Nigeria is Hausa moslem, none of their programs talk about how Islamic terrorists are cancerous but they can tell you so much in far away USA on islamophobia.
I can go on, they have a direct anti Israel script But the truth is, it is very difficult to report about Gaza transparently without ending up blaming the Israeli forces. I mean, yes, hamas plays politics with Palestinian lives, but in what universe will live ammunitions be a perfect match for sticks and stones? Hamas exploit the situation but ordinary civilians are at the receiving end and this is the problem. I also know, sadly, that if the Israelites are not that ruthless the Arabs would have destroyed them. I also know that if the Palestinians were in the position they'd do same. They don't like each other but at this stage the Israelites inflict more brutal injuries. Like how would you decide on Jerusalem that is still disputed? How will any honest man support a man who has disregarded the UN's plea to stop building in West Bank? How will anyone trying to be human and fair report that a boy used as bait and killed by the Israeli army got it for himself? That's where Al-Jazeera is coming from On Muhammad Idris, the dude is clearly a hack. I still recall the term he used in describing the government of Nigeria under GEJ and the language he employs these days. He called it 'Nigeria's Weak Central Government' during GEJ but in Buhari's time he has bought new lexicons of recovery. He's not the only guy though. Yvonne Ndege also covers Nigeria though Muhammad Idris is the chief correspondent for Nigeria. |

zlantanfan: those guys are terrorists sympathizers, I hate that channel.
Their every second news is always anti Israeli and now anti trump becos of Iran deal. They claim the problem in the world today is Israel. I mean what nonsense I disagree. For me, Al-Jazeera is the fairest among the big dogs. They are not anti isreal. They are just pro Qatar. If you want an anti Israel channel just tune into Press TV and Russian Today. They don't claim the problem of the world is Israel. You can only hear that on Press TV and on the lips of the Arabs especially Iran's Spiritual Leader, Ayatollah Khomeini. |

He is a sincere man. He gave Trump his world adn Trump also made Sacrifices..America is going to scale back surveillance and military build up in NK borders. Thats a big deal to Koreans Military build up? Yes. Surveillance? No. Never. The NSA taps five billion calls daily and that isn't going to stop. Is father made the same promises to president Clinton and later reneged, all he wants is international recognition and investments while stringing Trump along until the American people kicked him out in 2020. And what would he with international recognition? How would you break boundaries and still bring investments? Didn't Nike just stop the making of boots for Iran football team? Even ExxonMobil is leaving the country. That's simple. I don't see him playing Trump. I see him trying to use the South Korean system. I don't like America but I don't think a country with dictators for leaders should have nuclear weapons. One man shouldn't have such power. |

1. Hasty Generalization (Male chauvinism) 2. Argumentum ad misericordiam (What is wrong with being angry about the male chauvinism in this wicked world?) 3. Moral fallacy laced with rhetorics (The Now)
By the way, you have deflected from the discourse. It would be great we stay on course. Three fallacies? What does fallacy mean in this context? Your disagreements or the true meaning because it doesn't look like it? Simply tell me, what's wrong with being Angry? Isn't the world ruled by males who think one divine deity gave them over women? Isn't the world controlled by men? Who created barbaric cultures to foster their cause? How does a realization become a fallacy in your logical world? But...I really want to know how anger is wrong. I want to know how fighting evil with anger makes evil nonexistent. Tell me. I'd like to know. |

Sanchez01: Male Chauvinism?? Well, I am no misogynist so I won't talk about this. But then, everything is wrong with being ANGRY. You don't lead a campaign in anger and expect to garner followers. In the end, you'd come off as a mad man, or at best, a joke. If anger is a tool here then she is exhibiting a literary device we call ANGST.
You might be a Chimamanda apologist but her discourse with Hillary was never a plea.
So would you please point out the 'simple plea' here?
[s]How does questioning the illogical glorification of men showcase a child from an oppressive home? Honestly, if there is anyone who is oppressed, intellectually, morally and mentally, I think it is the majority of Nigerians who have bought into the matriarchal narrative. Once you free yourself from that, and understand what love ought do, you'd see with her eyes[/s] I'm sorry. I tried seeing the correlation of the struck out sentences but never really made sense to me. How does opening a door for a woman come off as illogical glorification? While you are playing Merlin to Arthur here, I hope you are aware that the lady in question is married and her ANGSTS, are directed at niceties or perceived soft spots reserved for the women folks by the men? Perhaps I would hit the next feminist on the shoulder like I would my male friends just because I intend saying 'Hi'. Is anger a bad thing? If I am angry about evil, have I committed evil? If I'm not angry about evil, am I a good man? Is any emotion for simply being an emotion bad or good? Is happiness good? If a thief robs and kills a pregnant woman, is such happiness good? Is good and bad emotional or moral concepts to be hidden in any emotion? |

Don't be afraid of what the truth has got to offer. This is a chauvinistic male world. Cut down on what traditions and culture tells you. Cut down on what religions with Gods who are too imperfect to be worshipped or praised tell you. Question the orientation you were given. Question everything. Once you do, you'd see the truth. |

What do you even understand by feminism? Why call cry babies and girls whose knowledge of feminism is equal but opposite to yours, feminists? ShawtCake: Boy! Feminism is bullshit! I totally believe men and women are unique entities and no one can take the role of the other.. Well, women try to take up manly roles but it's all nonsense! Having to even try in the first place, makes it invalid! So is feminism asking men to take manly roles and what does it even mean? What should define any role? Culture or commonsense? Why should a stupid man be the head of the house? Why should a wife who is a bad cook but with a chef as husband be in charge of cooking? |

Chimamanda seems to come from an oppressive home. I guess it defines her angst concerning men and having difficulties in understanding niceties. Sounds like Bullshit to me. What is wrong with being angry about the male chauvinism in this wicked world? How did a simply plea for clarification amount to bullying? How does questioning the illogical glorification of men showcase a child from an oppressive home? Is it that people are naturally dumb or they are beneath the field of learning? Why is such a simple statement be a source of confusion?
Simple. Feminism is about equal rights based on anatomic and physiological functions and not the glorification of any particular gender.
Some persons speak about confusion but I think they are the confused ones. Hers is the finest show of feminism you can find out there.
Others say she is a feminist but married because she needs man and you wonder if it is cotton wool that exists there for grey matter. Isn't equity to bane of feminism?
Here comes this big headed dude talking as though she asked anyone to stop opening doors for their partner. She's simply saying that whatever is good should be well spread.
No gender deserves exclusive right to any source of happiness that can be gotten by both genders. No gender is more important than the other. Why are people refusing to think?
Think. Open your minds. There is no divine providence behind making men head of any house. A dunce shouldn't lead anyone until he has learned to lead himself. |

Politics › Buhari: How Democracy Gave Nigeria Cancer by Sapiosexuality(op): 11:53am On Jun 05, 2018*. Modified: 12:32pm On Jun 05, 2018 |
Sapiosexuality: Democracy is an imperfect system but…it works. In democratic system, the aspirations and wills of the majority is foisted on the minority who may be weak, sounder, healthier and more suited to decide what happens in a country. The people with the right tools to decide what is right may be few in number while the number of people with zero iota of what constitutes good governance in large numbers. In that number, they scream, they gyrate and shout down thoughts that could cause damage to their evident ignorance. They join their poor forces and impose on their republic, leaders without tools to lead or the means to understand how to understand leadership.
A foolish majority is a threat to the growth of any state and wherever they abound the country is bound to suffer. They are vocal and the odour of their words suffocates the few people on the other side. Today’s Nigeria is a perfect specimen to look at. Prior to the election of the grandmaster of failures, President Muhammadu Buhari, it was evident to a few that he was not in a position to understand what to offer. It was evident he was not a good manager of people and resources. He was a religious fanatic and a tribal supremacist and nothing was hidden…but that is for those who knew they had to know to decide. It was not hidden to those who know that before taking any decision they need understand the nature of the cases involved. To the majority, who are afraid to read or reason, it was hidden.
While the nature of the man was evident for all to see but just like Galilee Galileo’s telescope, only a few dared look into what was common knowledge. The majority, due to the poor education their sorry minds received from the propaganda mills of the politicians, saw anything contrary to the masters food as dog shit and wouldn’t dare torture their minds if on gazing it sticks. It was very evident that the man had nothing working for him up there where reasoning happens but members of his team joined hands and heads with him and were able to work out something with the poor informed masses and his Loki self.
They simply sold the majority what they wanted to hear, what they needed to hear and promised ‘the people’ what they knew they couldn’t do for them. They bought it all and we are here today. If the people were well informed a man unworthy to be the Chairman of a Local Government wouldn’t be President. If they were many in the know, then Democracy would have saved us. If the majority of Nigerian Voters were smart enough to vote, if every adult that voted that day had the intelligence required to determine who leads a state, if every one of them hadn’t allowed sentiments to rule over their reasoning, if the people that voted actually had the interest of the people at heart, the level of blood flowing in the land today wouldn’t be this thick. As the Nile supplied Egypt Irrigation, the blood of Nigerians is now the reason Nigeria is still alive. Today a kakistocrat wished Happy Democracy Day.
The point is, democracy only works where ‘the people’ understand the nature and implications of the choices before them. Nigerians suffer and will keep suffering until they become smarter. For those who are down and doing nothing about it, democracy is a scourge. An ignorant weak man can easily be bought by a corrupt politician and he suffers consequences. An ignorant and weak people were bought in large numbers and after we spoke of ‘the people’ with their intelligence in sight, we mourn daily. What a shame! What Buhari got us is even worse than cancer because while cancer kills but noncommunicable, hate, pain, torture and other vices in his resume, kill and are communicable.
Every opinion isn’t golden and shouldn’t be treated as such. There are bad opinions and choices and we are victims of a very bad choice. We are the product of the effects of democracy on a dull population without the intelligence of discernment. It is time to test the intelligence of our voters. They have plagued us with so much illness, continuing will lead to our doom. We need to test the people before they are issued voter cards. Only then will democracy be government of the people. Old age should not be the only criteria for voting, intelligence should come first. I hope our disease doesn’t go malignant in 2019. God help us. God? That’s what the typical Nigerian will say after electing a misfit. http://www.mortalpoet.com/may-29-how-democracy-gave-nigeria-cancer/ |
