The answer to this poser lies in what happened at the beginning of life on earth. Genesis 1:31 says: "After that God saw everything he had made, and look! it was very good. Genesis 2:15-16 says: Jehovah God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eʹden to cultivate it and to take care of it. 16 Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction". This tells us that life on earth was cosy, no suffering or poverty, the bible says God's desire was that man was to have a life of satisfaction. So suffering was never part of God's plan for man. What then happened that suffering came into the world?
Genesis 2:17 says: "But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die". Now man wa given a law by God. So long as man continued to obey that law, he continued to accept God as his Sovereign, and as the one who had the right to rule over him by giving him laws. Why couldn't man make his laws, independent of God's control? Well the answer lies in the same reason u determine for ur child what is in his best interest because u love him and and wish him well. In fact, Isaiah 48:17(b) says: I, Jehovah, am your God,The One teaching you to benefit yourself,The One guiding you in the way you should walk". It means God's laws are in our best interests. Now based on wat we have seen so far, man knew wat he would do to remain cosy, just like ur child knows from wat u instruct him. Do u cause the consequences of ur child's disobedience? I think not. So wat happened na? This is it: in Genesis 3:4-5 says: At this the serpent said to the woman: “You certainly will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad." what exactly was Satan saying to the woman? That she should disobey God's instructions. And if she did, she would be like God, knowing good and bad. What was it to "know good and bad" in this context? Certainly, it didn't mean recognising wrong from right. This is because man already knew wat he shouldn't do and wat he shld do. He even knew the consequences of doing wat was bad. In fact, if dis was wat the devil meant, then he would have been caught in his lie by the woman. Wat the devil was saying to Eve was dat "if she ate the fruit, she would become a god to herself, deciding for herself, wat was good and bad". That is she would be a ruler to herself and would no longer need God to give her laws. The devil made the fruit look like the only thing that stood between Eve and a godlike personality, where she exercised to decide for herself, wat was right and wrong. That was verse 6 tells us that the "woman saw that the fruit was pleasing to the eyes". Why was it so important that that fruit was the subject matter of the discussion/temptation? This is because the fruits of that tree represented the only law that God gave to man and as long as man stayed away from eating that fruit, he continued to accept God's standards of wat is right and wat is wrong, just as ur child accepts u a his guide, each time he obeys ur instructions. As soon as man chose to eat that fruit, he rejected God's standards of wat is right and wat is wrong. Consequently, he accepted the devil's own standards that man doesn't need God but can rule over himself with his own set of laws and standards. Just like a child decides to do his bidding and becomes independent of his father's control. Was the devil right? Wat was the consequence of man's action? Romans 5:12 answers that question: it says: "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned—". So suffering came into the world as a result of man's action and the deceiver became the controller of world/man's life (compare 1 John 5:19). God never forced himself on man. Why would we be affected when we are not Adam? Well, take for example, u have two sons who u send abroad to get a better life: one stays obedient, but the other doesn't. If both sons have children in their respective circumstances, wouldn't their respective circumstances affect their kids? O yeah. This is the ultimate cause of world events of poverty. However, there are other reasons for this poverty. Let's talk about them shortly and u would see that they all come back to the beginning. Oh yes, even government policies today.

You failed to see the hypocrisy I'm pointing on the part of God. God said he gave the freewill and wouldn't interfere in their affairs except they call on him and I'm wondering why when he finally decided to go against man's freewill he destroyed man with water. It doesn't make sense.

There are so many inconsistencies with the story. I mean who puts temptation in the garden if he knows the outcome of everything? If he doesn't know, how then is he omniscient? The entire creation story does not make sense to me except it is allegorical.

See the suffering around and compare how much you want to help with how God wants to. He speaks of helping the poor but he doesn't and when we do people give him the credit but when we don't we are called stingy. God wins either way.

Let me ask you this question and I hope you can provide an answer. The question is:

If God is so great and omniscient and operates in the highest level of perfection, why would he create us? I think creating us will be to satisfy a need and he bears a need that means he is not perfect as claimed. Why would the richest, the most powerful and the most fulfilled man create something new? Is he still qualified to bear these titles?

You are sure to end well by his grace, Hellfire like human prison is not meant for you, once you are a good citizen no prison sentence for you whether on temporal or permanent basis. sometimes in this world there could be a mix up or miscarriage of justice due to human error that get innocent people into problem and turn them prisoners, not so with omniscient God, you cant serve him according to his word and go to hell by mistake.

But it's God we are talking about not some mediocre government that can't see the mind of the man or the potential evil in him. God, according to the bible, is not a man but an all-knowing entity. Hell can't be the best solution. From scriptures? What exactly will that change? That the murders are necessary? Why can't God help the poor but can wipe out nations? Then we can replace hell with eternal suffering and it wouldn't make much difference. Our hearts bleed when we are powerless about the poor around us. We are saddened when people do crazy things. We despise jealousy and pride. Even when men like Mayweather who can help his environment misbehave, we are broken. But God is guilty of all these things but rather than complain we worship him.

Punishments, yes. But wickedness is an entirely different thing. As long as this punishment is based on a warped sense of justice, it is not a good thing. How do you justify burning an evil man and burning a good man who simply doesn't believe in God? How do you even justify burning an evil man?

The TIVs and the Idomas. The Ijaws and the Urhobos. Look around you. Was such hatred in existence and where it was, was it given a warm embrace? Even our pidgin English is being imitated all over the world by people transfixed by Nigerian culture as propagated by Nollywood, and artistes from Davido to Wizkid. Go to New York and London now. They're playing Nigerian music on a daily basis in clubs and on the radio, an unheard of situation just 5 years ago.

Nigeria is a great country. Many Africans cannot stand Nigerians. Our potential intimidates them.

We need to find a way to unite as a nation and move forward. Our differences are negligible when set against our massive potential. Breaking up into tiny, inconsequential 'Sierra Leones', 'Togos', and 'Liberias' is a backward step. We are Africans. We can find a way.
