pappilo: A high school "friend" I had not seen in 7 years did this to me in my own house! I dont normally believe in diabolical stuff but that day I realised it exists. It had rained on the day he came "visiting" rain and the floor was muddy so we sat outside in the car port.
As a chap with an acceptable level of street knowledge, like 30 seconds into his story I knew where this was going. At about a minute in, I couldnt understand what the guy was saying anymore and from then on I just saw his lips move.
What happened next shocked me. I made to get up from the sofa I was sitting and it felt like I was glued to the seat! I panicked. I dont know where I summoned the strenght from but I somehow managed to fight the force pushing me down to my seat and I got up and backed up slowly to my front door nodding to the barsteward even though I had long lost any comprehension of what he was saying.
I locked the door, shouted out for the house help, ran upstairs and picked up a dusty bible in my room. I randomly flicked it open but I couldnt see anything. The house help came and started panicking saying "brother wetin happen?" That was when I started coming round to my senses.
I asked the house help to go outside and let my "friend" out of the compound and tell him I had gone out. I locked the door behind the househelp. I looked on from the window and when my "friend" was told I was no longer around, he calmly stood up and said to the house help "no problem, tell him I came to see him". How can a true friend accept such an explanation without any argument when we had been having a conversation and he had seen me go back into my house barely 5 minutes earlier? That just comfirmed his evil mission.
After the incident, I went and researched the dude and it turns out my gentle and meek classmate from years back was now a hardened criminal/cultist who had been rusticated from uni.
The moral of my long story: Be wary of "friends" you havent seem in a long time. Thank God for your life. |

acidtalk: I won't be surprised one bit if a report comes out from psychiatric homes and its stated that more than 1/4 of the patients in there is as a result from breakups.
People dey craze finish if you plate the issue of a breakup to them. And most times I wonder why they are upset when they didn't put in their best in most cases to see that the relationship is fruitful. You are not far from the truth. |

fyneguy: @OP
Those were not kidnappers. They wanted to scam you with ''wash wash''.
I was almost a victim in 2002 when I was working on Allen Avenue, Lagos. In my case, I offered to help the guy, not because of the incentive of a phone but because he needed to go back to ''Cameroon" where he supposedly came from.
On getting to Isheri Ojodu, the story changed. The people he supposedly left the phones with claimed they relocated them elsewhere because the guy didn't come back on time.
One of them whispered to me that they discovered some dark papers in the cartons which turned out to be money films. They then demonstrated it by washing out 2 notes of N200 and gave me. Pronto! it dawned on me I was in the midst of scammers; I had to deploy some drama skills I acquired on campus- I played along.
I showed so much excitement that they were begging me to calm down."oh oh my time has come! time to make money!". I screamed as though my SAKA DON PORT GO MTN .
Anyway, they needed to get more chemicals to wash the films for us to make N10 million cash. "Guys, how much do I need to contribute to get N5 million?" I asked straight-faced. The guys were stunned at 'my greed'. "Well bros, the chemical costs N1.5M; if you can drop 500k, you get N3.5M'' one of them responded.
Finger-on-lip, I looked up and sighed. "Ok guys. deal! Let me get to V.I and pick up some cash from my uncle. I will fly a bike to and fro. But you guys need to assure me the story wont change when I come back. I dont want to hear somebody else paid'' I said convincingly.
"Small thing bros, we are here. No too tey sha''
That was how I escaped. but you no try at all, you for tell them to borrow you money to take bike to V.I |

sunkoye: dear you want to know the meaning of devil's advocate? the meaning is not what the name implies- devil's advocate is someone who, given a certain argument, takes a position he or she does not necessarily agree with, for the sake of debate. In taking this position, the individual taking on the devil's advocate role seeks to engage others in an argumentative discussion process. The purpose of such process is typically to test the quality of the original argument and identify weaknesses in its structure, and to use such information to either improve or abandon the original, opposing position. cheers well done. |

There is nothing wrong with the institution called marriage rather something is wrong with some people that get into marriage.
marriage isn't meant for everyone. It's just a pity that everyone wants to get married even when they know that they can't cope with what marriage brings.
thanks |
