Politics / Igbos Create Laws To Regulate Masquerades, Yorubas Create Laws For Tech-Hubs by sarkinbauchi: 7:09am On May 04 |
Enugu State House of Assembly has set up an ad-hoc committee to come up with practical measures to regulate the activities of masquerades in the state. This follows the abuse of a female nurse, Ms Blessing Ogbonna, by a group of masquerades in Ihe-Owerre, Nsukka Local Government Area of the state. The setting up of the ad-hoc committee on Thursday in Enugu followed a motion moved by Mr Malachy Onyechi to address the abuse of human rights, threat to life, and destruction of properties by masquerades in Nsukka West Constituency. WHILE In 2022, Lagos State Government commenced the domestication of the Nigerian Startup Act (NSA2022) with the establishment of Knowledge, Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (KITE) Project which will equitably localise the Act. The KITE project is expected to significantly contribute to Nigeria’s economic development and position Lagos State as the hub for innovation in Nigeria. The workshop held at Eko Innovation Centre, brought together startup founders, technology experts, innovators, and enthusiasts to join the state government in domesticating the policies in the Nigerian Startup Act. The Act defines Nigerian startups, their scope, operations, incentives, and limits to attract foreign investment and open up the Nigerian tech industry. 1 Like 1 Share |

Politics / Money Peter Obi Spent On Lawyers Can Pay 500k Polling Agents Nationwide by sarkinbauchi: 1:29pm On Oct 26, 2023 |
One thing I have learnt from this election, and Peter Obi in particular, is a reaffirmation of the old saying that when you're penny wise, you become pounds foolish. Imagine the hundreds of millions of naira wasted on lawyers at the Election petition tribunal level, supreme court level, and even chasing Tinubu's records all over the world. Shouldn't this money have been used instead to pay as many polling agents as possible to secure the votes at every stage of the elections, collation, transmission etc? @ thesicilian |
