By Our Reporter Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has said his administration can thrive without revenue from the Federal Allocations. Oxford dictionary adds okada, danfo, Mama Put, 26 other Nigerian words, expressions
Oxford English Dictionary said it has added 29 Nigerian words and expressions in the January updates to the dictionary.
“The majority of these new additions are either borrowings from Nigerian languages, or unique Nigerian coinages that have only begun to be used in English in the second half of the twentieth century, mostly in the 1970s and 1980s,” OED’s World English editor Danica Salazar said in a statement.
‘Next tomorrow,’ is one of the new entries into the dictionary. The expression is regarded as the oldest among the over 25 uniquely Nigerian words/expressions. According to Salazar, ‘next tomorrrow’ was first used in written English as a noun in 1953, and as an adverb in 1964.
Kannywood, which refers to the film industry in northern Nigeria, is deemed the youngest among the lot.
Others such as ‘buka,’ ‘bukateria’ and ‘severally’ also made the dictionary.

madridguy: Bros directly or indirectly they're contributing into the economy. A visit to Abbatior " Slaughter ground " at Agege will do wonder.
Let Lagos State government try to take them to another place and you will see how the LG chairman of that place will react to it.
I repeat they're contributing to our economy. In essence money from abbatior in agege or anywhere is why will sustain Lagos I don’t know the maths off head though how many barrels of oil is that ? It should be less than 15 barrels One life is worth more than all the revenue that will be generated in a century |

Is there a revenue generated by the sales of their cattles? How can we trace the revenue? Is the diary companies using the proceeds of their cattle? |

Madam Kautal have you also reason this ?
If Niger deltans youth blocked the oil facilities?
Lagos locked up there seaports
What will happen?
Cattle can be imported from anywhere so oil too
But did the Northern part have the capacity to sustain without oil?
That’s arrogance |
Politics › If Fulanis Go On Strike For One Week Nigerians Will Know Their Worth, Miyetti by sarrki(op): 4:14pm On Jan 20, 2020 |
The National Women Leader of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural association, Hajiya Baheejah Mahmood, has said Nigerians will know the importance of Fulani if they go on strike for one week. She lamented that the Fulani people has contributed a lot to the Nigerian economy but they benefited nothing in return. When asked on what the Fulani people has contributed to the economy of the country she said: "The Fulani contribute a lot to the economy of the country and its people. They provide the country with over 90 per cent of its meat requirement. The cattle provide beef; they rear chickens, guinea fowls, goat and sheep too. "They contribute to the dairy (milk) production and supply of hides and skin of the country, which contributes to the GDP of the economy. The affordable meat and eggs consumed in Nigeria are largely as a result of the activities of the Fulani. During festivities of Muslims and Christians, and almost anything in-between, cattle, sheep and goats are used which are readily available as a result of the transhumance activities of the Fulani. All the products of the activities of the Fulani contribute to the nutritional enhancement of the country with provision of protein in form of meat, eggs and dairy. She continued, "The Fulanis as a people gain next to nothing from the government of the country. Because they are mostly on the move, the Fulani’s do not benefit from the provision of basic amenities such as schools, hospitals and roads. They hardly know the importance of infrastructural items such as electricity, tap or borehole water and bridges. What the Fulani need is a kind of public/private partnership (PPP) arrangement with the government to boost the production of the animals and their products. "For example, if the Fulani should decide not to bring their livestock to the market for one week, all Nigerians will then know and appreciate their contribution to the economy and the well-being of Nigerians. https://www.nationalpivot.com/2020/01/if-fulanis-go-on-strike-for-one-week-nigerians-know-worth-miyetti-allah.html?m=1 |

BabaRamota1980: I like your confession but i think you have to say more than this. For the people lost to python no one can recover their losses.
I supported Buhari also but during python i condemned the action. No one is more disgusted with ibo here than i am but we have to see and speak up against violation of people rights. That python was an abuse and not a political action, in fact its an hatred.
Ever since that time i laid low and am not as opposed to ibo as i used to be before. They were denied justice in python. Their hunan rights was grossly violated.
So Sarrki, i think your confessions here is good. You cannot undo what has been done. Learn and in future when Ibo is under attack try to see if its justified or not. If its not then stand up and speak up for them even against Buhari or anybody. Do that bro. Nnamdi kanu had wanted attack on Yoruba , Igbos and Hausa You remembered he also threatened the south east governors too It would have turned to ethno religious crises then |
