Thanks for clarifying.

At least I can say I never roll with guys at that level of thinking (boasting or lying). My guys are very open about when they are successful and when the girl plainly says no. There is no shame there between us. They say it as it is and "No" that is most likely outcome anyway.

What we do is that we sit down, conduct a detailed step by step analysis of why he was unsuccessful. Brainstorm on likely mistakes, develop a root cause analysis map, exchange ideas on previous success in similar types of scenarios, we throw out individual advice, consult some female friends to review and validate points and he goes out to practice what he has learnt armed with new tactics.  grin

Wenger isn't chasing anyone, and barring a disastrous performance upfront tomorrow, he won't start chasing one now.

SKY should pay for their hypocrisy. How many times did they show Gallas GBH(with intent to murder) in their highlights?
Rio/Fagan incident was off the main camera but SKY kept showing it every 5 mins so people can complain.

I see there is still a lot of noise about Smalling - let's just say you win some and lose some. Arsenal won the fight for Ramsey, Utd seems to have won the fight for Smalling. I'd call it even so nothing special in that regard.
Arsene lost the fight for Ramsey cos Ramsey has not even improved his fortunes.

Rio I recall had already been to the UCL semis before Fergie signed him no? its too early to make a call on Smalling, Senderos at his age was already world cup bound and setting a record in the UCL for clean sheets.
The more the merrier.  grin grin grin
Man Utd signed Van Nistelrooy before Ruud got his first cap for Holland so all those Senderos thingy is bullshit.
I have warned you times without number to stop comparing Man Utd's set-up to Arsenal. United have a bigger squad depth unlike Arsenal who have just 14 good players in their squad and any injury to any of those 14 means any retard can break into the first team.

Be careful what you wish for with that Rooney metatarsal thingy, would be sad to see manure join Liverpool in struggling to get into the top 4 as manure will be lost without that boy nuff said.
We didn't need Rooney to beat Wolfsburg(German Champions) in Germany.
We didn't need Rooney to beat Besiktas(Turkish Champions) in Turkey.

Wenger did not chase anybody about do get your facts right, would you also say that Arsenal was chasing Chamak about? Arsene was interested in the player true enough but we don't conduct our transfer dealings in the press unlike Manure, we only talk when its signed, sealed and delivered. We all know who had a red face after Ramsey and also got disappointed with Mikel.
Do you know how many players that has gotten Arsene W@nker red-faced?
Who first met Ronaldo? grin grin grin  How may other players has Wenger told the media he got to first before those players made their decisions to go elsewhere?

Ramsey has no ambition. . . . .Had he joined United in 2008, he woulda won the domestic league, Carling cup and FIFA club world cup and possibly a trip to the final of the Champions League thus making him the 2nd most decorated Welsh Player at the age of 18 grin grin grin

Mikel Obi's father has already slapped himself several times for letting his son join Chelsea.

Pain ke? if we got Verminator who is making an immediate impact at 10M,
As good as Verminator looks, he is no Rio/Vidic and never will be and he hasn't even helped to solve Arsenal's defensive susceptibility to the counter attack(which is their great achilles heel). His defence(in which he has played in all the league games) has conceded 25 league goals(Brown/Evans axis) have done better than Verminator/Gallas.

I don't think Smalling should be worth more than 5M as I doubt he could make an immediate impact, didnt he just get embarrased by Tottenham yesternite? despite being paired with Hangeland who is quality and he was in the team that our reserves beat 3-0 earlier in the season so there is no reason for any of our players to fear him.
At 20, Rio Ferdinand was disgraced in many matches and United paid £30 million for him in 2002.
7 or 8 seasons later, you cannot argue United didn't get good value for their money. Afterall, Rio has won more titles than Arsene Wenger who has been with Arsenal for 14 years. cheesy grin

We already have Bartley who is also british and younger, Djorou who should be back from injury soon and Nordtveit on loan at Nurnberg with the Nazis.  The typical age of a reserve CB in Arsenal is <18 years, anyone above 18 will be out on loan such as Nordtveit and Hoyte, Smalling at the same age as Bartley is, was fighting relegation in a none league club.
I guess Arsene wanted him as just another decent English player on the books and possibly wasn't willing to pay up to 8M for him.
If you had Bartley, Djouror and Nordtveit, why was Arsene chasing Smalling for the past 3 months?
Christ on a bike. . . . . .Even till now, Arsene is still trying to hijack the player on his way to Manchester this morning.

You will lose a lot of money if you make that bet as the old reliables have reached their end of service life at 36 and 34 respectively and I doubt poor Shrek can continue to carry you as he has done so far this season.
Ohhhh, poor Rooney has been carrying us so far this season?
This season alone at different times. . . . . . .Fletcher had carried us, Giggsy had carried us, Evra had carried us and now it's Rooney??
Last season, it was no Ronaldo, no Man Utd. Ronaldo left and it was no Vidic, no Man Utd.
Get real. . . . . . .If Rooney breaks metatarsal tonight, someone else will step to the plate and deliver.

Your club is still in financial trouble as they could only manage to squeeze out 8m after they went cap in hand to beg for 500M, how are the mighty fallen.  grin grin grin
We are in financial trouble and yet we outmatched Arsene Wenger's bid for Smalling thus making Smalling the 3rd most expensive defender United have ever bought in their history. This financial trouble na wa. grin grin grin grin

If Smalling does fulfil his potential and turn into anywhere near as good a defender as Rio then we will have saved ourselves the best part of 20mil in replacing Rio. . . . .Arsene Wenger himself is clearly interested enough in this kid even with Vermaelen on his books which should tell you something about Smallings' potential even at 20.

Looks more certain now that Hodgson has confirmed it, maybe manure wanted him more anyway and we do have a lot of young CBs coming through, I recall him being in the Fulham reserves team we beat 3-0 earlier in the season but he might have been a lone star in the midst of a clueless lot anyway as he did stand up to Drogba's physical play even though Pantsil also had a stormer in that game.
Hahahaha. . . . .The thing pain Duduspace o.
You have loads of young CBs coming through? Which ones?
The ones that were disgraced by Stoke, Man City and in the FA Youth Cup or the ones that finished 6th in the Reserves Premier League last season?

I'll congratulate Sauron on buying a dud when the deal is confirmed signed.  grin grin
Arsenal fans said the same thing when Fergie snapped Cristiano Ronaldo in 2003.
I am willing to take a bet that Smalling will win a league title before Cesc Fabregas. grin grin grin
Afterall, Da Silva twins won it before Cesc and they did before that Welsh Arrow(Aaron Ramsey) who lacks ambition. grin

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread! We Are The Red Devils! by Sauron1: 12:29am On Jan 27, 2010
Roy Hodgson has congratulated Manchester United on winning the race to sign Chris Smalling.

The Red Devils announced earlier on Tuesday that they had agreed a deal to bring in the highly-rated Fulham defender at the end of the season.
It was unclear whether Arsenal had also had an offer accepted earlier this month but as far as Hodgson is concerned the matter has now been resolved.

"The club has accepted an offer from Manchester United and as far as I know that is where he is going to be going," Hodgson told Sky Sports after Fulham's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham.

Asked if Arsenal had also agreed a fee with Fulham, Hodgson replied: "You will have to ask (chief executive) Alistair Mackintosh about that, I don't know anything about that."

"I knew from some time ago that Manchester United had made the offer and as far as I know terms have been agreed and as far as I know he is going for a medical tomorrow and will be a Manchester United player next season."

Hodgson admits he will be sad to lose Smalling to United in the summer as he believes the 20-year-old, who started against Spurs, has the potential to become a fantastic player.

"It's disappointing because we're losing a great talent who has a very exciting future and I would have loved him to play in a Fulham shirt," said Hodgson.
"But when United come calling it's not that easy to stand in a player's way.

"I've got to congratulate Alex (Ferguson). He'll (Smalling) go on to do great things for Man United and it's a pity I'll be watching him do it for them and not Fulham."
