I made amala and okro soup two days ago, it's been the best decision I've made food-wise. Even when at work I think about my amala, almost all my colleagues know I prepared amala and okro soup. It's funny how motivated and fulfilled a food can make you feel. smiley

thumbs up

So, a friend had a medical emergency and I ended up sleeping at her place for 2 days, long story. She has twin boys that are 5years old and a 2 year old girl. OMG. Those kids ran circles around me. Twin mamas, I raise hand and cut cap for una.

I could not and still cannot tell them apart. They even have scars in the same spots. They have name bands but they kept stylishly switching them. To get them ready for bed was a nightmare. But I remembered Sayoberry and made sure they slept in separate rooms by 8pm. After crying and refusing to cooperate, they eventually slept off by 9:30pm or thereabouts. The girl was such an angel and even tried to help prepare their meals.

It was a new experience for me. I now have a healthy respect for twin mums.

Loooolll. I imagine grin

Babythug, they slept yesterday 9:40pm

We are making progress. What I did was take to that let them play advice. When we get back from school I take off their uniforms and say "go and play outside" the rush of energy is too much. They usually play inside and I end up picking up things and all. The outside trick is da bomb. Except I get to scrub them afterwards (sometimes wink )

Anyway we have found a a project for this topic (pun intended) title is getting the sayoberry twins to bed on time. cheesy
grin

Do you watch channel 177 on Dstv?there's a show that deals with parenting and shares real life examples. Also google up Jo Frost she's the child whisperer of Britain she has many great videos they may be on you tube. I'll look for this and learn

8pm and the joke is on me

Do they take packed drinks caprisonne and the likes? Lollipops ? That may contribute to hypernmode from what I hear.

only in the mornings

Also what time are they up in the mornings? What exactly do they do in school? Is thete nap time in school and for how long?
they wake by 6am, elder siblings 5 or 5:30, I bath the twins and dress them while dozing myself (kidding or not ) they write "ingor wan, ingor too" (figure 1,2) in school

Hello mamas.

I haven't adjusted my routine. We now sleep by fire by force when its 10pm. But it involves loads of cuddling and petting. "My babies, come and hug mama"

Two days ago I went thru one major episode with them. One of the moments I dislike most- when they start to cry uncontrollably at once (makes me want to run away)

My morning routine is scattered all over the place. I'm not a morning person at all. But all in, I'm still sane grin

Chai. See energy. @Sayoberry, pele. Try to reduce their afternoon naps and let them play a lot before bedtime. A friend said she found that separating her twins at bedtime did the trick. The more quiet one would fall asleep easily so she only had 1 to deal with. When he didn't have an audience, he would eventually sleep off.

I've tried separating them but it doesn't work. The other twin will come looking for the first. They just slept now. Separate beds same room. And tomorrow they should be up by 6pm. The only nap they have is from sch back home like 30 mins.

My own twins sleep by 11pm thereabout everyday. The earliest is 10pm. While the older kids are asleep. They don't let me rest or sleep either and most times I put off all lights. I'm so exhausted With their energy. I can't explain. Let me show u what they do when I put them in their bed. This is tonight.

@Sayoberry

I like your sense of "foodie"
adventure!

I would like to try it out too since
you said it is sweet...especially
in fried stew. grin

Is there a special restaurant or
joint in your location/area of residence where it
is specially prepared and sold or did you
make this yourself?

I hear there are snake pepper soup delicacy
joints/restaurants in Lagos
and that snake in soup tastes like... Dry fish! grin

After all the Chinese and Japanese
eat frogs as a delicacy and they
are still going on strong... Although
I do not like the popular Japanese
Sushi [or raw fish delicacy!]

Thanks for the feedback.

Cheers!

There are no restaurants. It's mostly sold by Hausa guys. They hawk it and it's currently in season (yes it has season)
You have to soak in hot water and salt before you cook. Best to cook a day before you eat so it would have "wota" (soaked well in stew, as in d stew go don enter everywhere lol)

Ha! Is this safe? No vex o but I remember reading online when thinking about whether to give my 6month old orange or not that the acidity of oranges may cause them to have rashes and it's better or start when they are 1. That's why i'm kinda skeptical about 3-4 oranges. Please, no offence intended o, just trying to learn.

None taken mama. We are all learning too. Never read that. But its good to know.
