Hi All, I will like to say a few things.
1) Research on the school you are going to. For example, I should have asked about the studentenwerk in my school because Gottingen studentenwerk has a 6 Months to 1 year waiting period (I kid you not), some year 2 people are still on that list. For people going to places where you have long waiting period like me, apply to studentenwerk as soon as you get your admission letter.

2)Learn the Language: It cannot be over emphasized, you have a better chance of getting office Jobs.

3) Most importantly (I am speaking for people in Gottingen), please if you borrowed money for this trip, I don't think (my opinion) that you can start returning it the next month. Let me explain how it works. When you get here, you need to go to the Rathaus to do your city registration and for that you need your international Passport and Landlord's house contract. I got here on the 16th of Sept, I just did my city registration today because I just got a Landlord's contract. After this, you will now be scheduled for Residency permit, I know people that are scheduled for Oct 21st, and you cannot work without that permit. That is to say, you cannot start working till Nov. So, don't come empty handed, bring money that will last you at least 3 Months.

Actually, we are doing just language courses for now, so nothing tedious. I just think It cause we are not used to talking during lectures, giving our opinions during lectures and what not. The other day, the lecturer made a mistake on the board, I could not correct her (Because of village respect), I did not know some other Nigerians saw it and also did not say anything because (Village respect)
Sakasitay:
Most times, the lecture materials are complex, and the Nigerian students are overwhelmed. I don’t even think it’s shyness.

Today makes it exactly one week since I left for Germany. I am here to share some things I wish I knew before I came.

1) Learn the Language: it will help you in your every day waka, most especially for those already working in Nigeria. I heard of someone working with an insurance company in Nigeria that got to Germany, googled insurance company around and was able to get a PROFESSIONAL job(Language was still a barrier but he was lucky)

2) Don’t bother bringing rice, oil, salt. All these things are very cheap here

3) please bring earpiece, extra charger and the likes (Electronic goods) seem to be expensive over here.

4)to be very honest, Most (not all) of the Jacket you will get in Nigeria cannot do anything against the cold. I would advise you save the money and come buy one or 2 over here.

5) If you have laptops, bring it.

6) I don’t know about the big cities but I am in a small town (Göttingen) and bicycle is the way of life here. People cycle EVERYWHERE. Learn how to ride a bicycle.

7) if you have time, learn driving and German. These things are really expensive to learn here. I’m talking over a thousand Euros.

cool In class, I also noticed that the Nigerian students (myself included) find it difficult to speak out while the whites are free with the lecturers. Please start practicing in the mirror and try to speak out in class.

Fun fact: The other day I used one Euro coin to buy something and the cashier gave me my change, I cried a little.

Overall, please be a good ambassador of Nigeria wherever you are and learn to highlight the positive part of Nigeria. God bless us, God bless Nigeria and God bless Germany.

No time to even move around. You will probably get to the hotel 11-12 pm, you will be too tired to do anything and you re most likely going to be up by 6-7 am
builderperry:
Nice, Are you allowed to leave the hotel and enter Egypt for sightseeing or is the hotel inside the airport?

Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Saysay01: 12:00am On Sep 16, 2019

The time you took to post this you can as well as googles the answer on his or her behalf. When we tell people to read, it is for your own good. You avoid mistakes and all. See ehn, this German waka is like writing Waec, you study past questions (previous Threads) so as to know area of concentration and what to avoid.
I read over 100 transcripts before my interview and my interview went well because I was prepared. I had no issues, all my document were complete and well arranged, paulinus did not send me to the back because I read the thread and I was ready. So please prepare well by reading.)
Ibitowaoa:
The time it took u to write this, why not spend it on explaining. Nigerians and their mentality at times. So because u read over 500+ pages u want him to go through such rigorous stress when u could just typed it for him. Wic****** at the highest peak.
Be kind to people, who knows the information u will give that Will paved way for u too.

First of all, you are the agent of darkness you always talk about because all you do is derail this thread.

Secondly, I will help you.

1) You have just 3 transfer to fintiba, so think about the Gazellion transfer you want to do.

2) Ask around, the transfer charges is more that all you typed here (Before Access Bank chop your money and you will come on here to cry talking about how terrible Nigeria is)
3) I am actually praying you get your Visa, you need to see a psychologist. Seriously, I don’t mean this as an insult)
CruiseControl:

How is it your business how much people are charged? Whats your concern? By the way, if I have a money to pay and I pay in bits, will it not amount to same charge?

Because if am to send a million and the service charge is 5%, its still same charge if I send it in bits or in full.

Take for instance, 5% charge of a million naira is 50,000. If I choose to pay that money in 100,000 inistallments, the service charge is 5,000 naira. By the time I pay it 10 times which is a million naira, the service charge is still 50,000!! Same as someone that paid it in full.

So is it not better to pay in installments at least to be sure the money is appearing in my account?

The fact is that many of you on this thread are hopeless agents and scammers who are just here to bait people. Am not saying good people are not here. Am just warning to people to what is happening in my inbox. I dont even open not to talk of reading them. Once I see them, I simply mark all and send to recycle bin. I then go ahead and empty my bin so they are gone forever.

My God, I pray healing for you @cruisecontrol. Your negative energy is the reason why you attract negative people. There is always so much hate spewing from your chat. Haba. Please, you have been hurt before and you hate your Country, fine but stop trying to spread it around. Shalom.

Also, take that Fintiba advice with a pinch of salt because any transaction you do, you are being charged. grin
