Oga Nigerians are nor passing through any hardship more than what we had in the last 7years. It is you that is passing through rough times cause all the money you looted are about to become toilet paper. Buhari carry go.
Britishpea: Buhari can’t do nadaaa. Except he’s ready to throw Nigeria in a state of anarchy. If he messes up with EL Rufai, which he dare not, watch as other states will begin to make same pronouncements.
El Rufai didn’t just wake up to announce this. It is a coordinated arrangement and he’s asked to forward it being a BuHaris man.
In few days watch as other states will pronounce the same. Buhari will fail on this woefully. Funny enough he can’t arrest any governor
Social media users have been sharing a video of some Nigerian men carrying sacks of old N500 and N1000 notes to the Central Bank of Nigeria branch in Gombe State. This occurs shortly after President Buhari declared that the old N500 and N1000 notes are no longer valid forms of payment.
BluntCrazeMan: I AM NOT REFERRING TO ANY CASE OR ANY KNOWN SITUATION IN PARTICULAR HERE..
I am just trying to know --- on a very normal ground where every other circumstances are in perfect order --- which one is supposed to supersede the other..??
The Presidents address can be taken also as the executive order which supersedes all know law of the land.
As the race for the presidency intensifies across Nigeria's political landscape ahead of the much-anticipated general elections, a video showing the moment the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed tackled the northern political class opposing his candidacy and that of his principal, Peter Gregory Obi, has surfaced online.
While addressing a hall filled with governors, elders, and political elites at the Northern Assembly on Wednesday, Datti, who is the younger brother to the Spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, stated that the reason why the Arewa region has not had good leaders in government is because they do not like to hear or speak the truth when it matters the most.
Going further, the Labour Party VP candidate tackled northern leaders for attempting to resist the candidacy of Peter Obi despite knowing his track records and antecedents as former Anambra governor.
Rounding up his speech, Datti insisted that those opposing the Obi-Datti ticket among the region's political elites would not be able to stop the Labour Party from emerging victorious because Nigerians have since decided to vote for competence and capacity.
"Irresponsible governance is responsible for the situation we are in. Where you see the problem, we see the solution. Our history and records have shown that we were able to create wealth, we did not derive wealth from the government. Logically speaking, we know how to move Nigeria from consumption to production. We are the ones who will bring an end to this endemic corruption. Imagine a governor who served 8 years without borrowing a penny, left 75 billion behind for his state, and refused to sign a law that would have enabled him to collect money.
Match that with a vice, who, when in 2006, they were selling Apo houses, not that the Act was wrong, but I disagreed with the principle of repayment. I was the only Senator among the 360 that refused to buy. The truth of the matter is that we don't say the truth, we don't like the truth, and we don't support the truth. And that is why we have not yet been able to touch Allah's Rahma (God's mercy) by getting the right leaders. Nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come. That idea now is that Nigerians have decided to vote for competence that you can trust, characters that you know, compassion that you can feel, and capacity that has been proven. We shall meet at the polls."
I just feel this man's political career is over after 25th February.
The Zamfara State Gov owed govt workers 6 months salary. With the redesign of the Naira which would have rendered all old currencies useless by Feb 10, he brought out all these old notes & paid off the 6 months salaries owed. Cry my beloved country 😢 Ironically, he is one of 3 state governors suing the Fed Govt over the new notes policy.

inoki247: LoL CBN just created a new Cashout avenue for people.....
People will be going to Villages, Go to City outside the capital to buy Old Notes and come to CBN office at the capital to exchange the money into dere bank account....
Like this now the Vote buying issue people will rather take the old note and resell to people buying old note....
At the end of the day na still the masses loose I no know Wu dey give CBN all this scope buh them need to kill the person asap cos no scope wey e don give CBN wey favor the masses....
oga read well. 17th no far before you enter motor.
ambale: Like a lawyer opined on Twitter it seems the deed has been done
Majority of the old funds are already with the CBN, and they can do what they like with it
And the CBN was not even a party in the first place, the matter don tie big wrapper like this
What I expected the apex court to do is to order the release of the new notes cos that's where the problem lies not spending the old notes
that is coming into the domain of CBN. The Nigeria minting press can only print 500B, and next print in six months. Remember(cashless, enaira). They planned this well.
seunmsg: The court will hear the case on 15th February and adjourn for response of the prosecution to the submission of the respondent till February ending. Finally, judgement will be entered March ending. By then, even the CBN will no longer be interested in the Naira redesign as the political gain they intend to achieve would have been defeated. For now, old and new notes remains legal tender till February 15th.
