perez100:What made you think that the christians among them are any different? Did you not see them all gang up against Jonathan in 2015? Even the pastors among them. |
BeeBeeOoh:They love crumbs that fall from Fulani table because they know they're empty. So they must fill their belle first before thinking. Even now, they're still sheepishly thinking Fulani will hand power to them. |
Advocate500:If this were something that happened in Igbo land, by now this topic would be 15 pages. This post was made 2 hours ago and it's still on page 2. It's as if they're worthless and not news worthy. Yoruba people would be spitting bile up and down, but now it happened in their land, no one is even interested. It's as if anything Igbo excites them as they pray for evil and rejoice for evil. |
DubaiLandLord:You ZonBees only reason like humans when e reach you. Does it mean that you're no longer faithful to your 30k job when Yoruba land is affected by injustice? |
For the purpose of clarity. I do not believe in Biafra, but in Igbo nation that comprises ONLY Igbo and any other ethnic minority that love Ndigbo and would want to share the same nation with us. These could be mainly the Annangs, Ibibio and Efiks that have common ancestry with Ndigbo. I'm not one of those that believe that the Biafra nation is around the corner. Even when I hear the IPOB people say so. In fact, as far as I know, it may be another 2, 3 or even 10 years before the Igbo quest for self determination is realized. The reason for this is obvious: God always punished the oppressors before He sets people free. For instance, when Moses told pharaoh to let the Israelites go and pharaoh refused, the Lord struck the Egyptians with plagues. Now think of millions of Igbo killed by the northerners, the Yoruba and the Tiv people. You think God will not visit these tribes for such bloodshed before liberating the Igbo nation? I think not. History is replete with incidents where the wicked are used to punish wicked nations: the Babylonians, the Persians and even the Assyrians were among the wicked nations used to punish others. In essence, when you see oppressors of Igbo being punished in any form, know that the liberation of God's people is at hand. This is why I sometimes believe that the onslaught of the Fulani marauders against the northerners, especially the Tivs is retribution for Igbo blood they shed on the Benue. What of the Hausas? Are they not being paid for Igbo blood their fathers shed? Now let's come to the Yoruba. They believe they're better off picking up the crumbs after Fulani has eaten not knowing what is awaiting them. The bad news for them is that Fulani already knows them to be cowardly. They thought voting Buhari would be to the detriment of only the Igbo. What goes around comes around and theirs will even be worse because they can't fight back. They keep making noise saying Igbo are destroying their region because they hope to deceive Igbo so that Fulani would conquer Igboland. What they have failed to know is that it is Igbo is the only tribe stopping Fulani from decimating all the southern tribes. Well... let them be fixated on the free money coming from crude oil while the hordes are marching... |
loveth360:They are mostly unwise. |
SocialJustice:And in no time, the Igbo race would still overtake you, which means they're not the only ones set back 100 years or your tribe is not moving at all. |
adekolaelect:Igbo land is already in a state of emergency. |
plaindealer:Yes ooo... we will continue terrorizing your soul until you're blown to oblivion |
okeyglm:No wonder, you behave like a person thatr is already LATE |
GerraMeh74:How are you sure they won't blame IPOB to make peace with Fulani? |
No one will fight for Nigeria because no one is willing to die for Nigeria. No one has ever died for Nigeria because no one is a Nigerian. People can die for their tribes but not Nigeria. The only reason Nigeria exists is because it is built on injustice which the Fulani enjoy and cheating which the Yoruba enjoy. If the wealth they steal or share belongs to any of these tribes, there would be no Nigeria. All the people dying are dying for themselves or their tribes. For instance, Ken Saro Wiwa died for his tribe, Ogoni, Abiola, for himself, Gideon Orkah for his tribe and more. When you hear Tinubu for president being chanted by Yoruba, it is the quest to steal for their tribe the way they're watching Fulani steal for theirs. At the end of the day, no one is a Nigerian. We only have a pack of hyena political class stealing wealth from the Eastern region for themselves while their tribesmen rejoice that it is their tribe's turn to steal. So to answer your question, the poor can enlist, not out of patriotism but hunger. But the passion will be lacking and they will as usual flee from assaults as we see when they're confronted by equally armed aggressors. The Germans defended Germany against the allies because they saw Germany as motherland. The Russians also saw Russia as motherland. Nigeria is no-man's land but the whiteman's business venture. |
okeyglm:How exactly can a Fulani terrorist like you cause Igbo to change their minds? Even if you turn to suicide bomber, you'll still accomplish nothing. |
okeyglm:So why are you in pains? Is it your money or your Fendi? |
SlyDev:Igbo hate betrayal and backstabbing. That's where we differ from many others |
RodeDindu:He lives on that 30k |
I actually thought those IPOB guys were miscreants in 2013 when I first heard of them. Buhari practically made people like us to take not and listen to Kanu. I'm sure that's how the government made most Igbo to notice IPOB and what they actually stand for. Convincing people like us to listen to IPOB is the good work of the government and today, I can bet 90% of Igbo want Kanu released. After all, he mostly stood for truth and justice. Imagine a man who is potent both inside the gulag and outside. What do you do with such a prisoner when you have them in jail? |
Imagine a man grounding a region and doing so progressively at will? That, my friends is something rarely seen even among politicians these days and is that the dream of any politician? You can bet on that. I've been wondering at the capabilities of this guy. I listened to him a few times but actually stopped for some reasons - the chap has an aura. You may not understand, and I won't explain. He reminds me of only one 20th Century politician. The fact that he awoke Igbo and Nigerian consciousness to existential threats is enough to adulate him. Kanu is both enigmatic and charismatic and you won't listen to him without being awed. Even the Fulani government is awed at the groundswell of support a man commands from behind bars. Apparently, they inadvertently made the man a legend through their reaction to his pomp. We are witnessing history in this Kanu guy. Is he perfect? No. He leans towards the braggadocios but a maker of history all the same. Obviously the most influential black man alive today. These are interesting times for those of us fortunate to be alive to witness it. Great men like Kanu are every politician's dream because they come by once in many lifetimes. Just call him the John Brown of our time. |
orisa37:I prefer any deal that accelerates Igbo exit. Kanu should stop this his Biafra of Igbo and other tribes in the SS. Those tribes should make their own deal. |
alizma:And the metrics are nothing in 2016 compared to the damage and havoc of 5 years. That means it's worse now than when the report was made. |
Let it not fail yet until Igbo exit. |
Stop this...Even though we all know how guile most Nairaland Yorubas are. We Igbo should not harangue Sunday Igboho, the only man with guts among them. Kanu will never say anything bad about Igboho. Let the deceitful and treacherous Yoruba judge themselves. At least they can see Igbo behind Kanu as they have as usual betrayed their own. If they did it to Awolowo and Abiola, who is Igboho. Na only where belle face, Yoruba dey follow. For now, na Tinubu noodle and cooking oil and Osibande 5k dey important. |
DubaiLandLord:Really, do you zombies want anything good for yourselves and children at all? How could you sell your souls to the devil for a paltry #30k? At least, Yahoo boys and Yahoo plus rate theirs higher. |
DubaiLandLord1:Go and stop them from going with Igbo na |
DubaiLandLord1:I disagree...I have a friend from Edo, his name is Ifeanyi. Ifeanyi told me he is Igbo when I didn't even know there are Igbo in Edo. The governor of Delta is another Ifeanyi. Ifeanyi is not Yoruba name. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is Igbo name. Yet she's from Delta state. Chukwuma Nzeogwu, the man for whom Nigerians murdered millions of Igbo is not from SE. He is from Okpanam near Asaba, Delta state. So IGBOLAND is far more than the lie you people make of it. I'll agree if you'll bring back the millions your fathers murderd because of one Chukwuma Nzeogwu. |
I saw Kanu's pictures in court and was like what a.... The chap seems too relaxed and confident unlike the image we saw when he was abducted. Also, what of the watery charges filed against him by the government and that got me thinking. Could it be that they already offered Kanu a new deal to stop agitating? According to Kanu, during his first incarceration, they offered him the 5 Igbo states which he turned down. For the sake of all Igbo, I hope the deal if any includes all Igbo in Benue, Cross Rivers, Delta, Kogi, Rivers, Bayelsa and Edo. Anything less is not good enough. Okay, lets assume there is no deal, will Igbo stop agitating? I serious doubt that. Perhaps, it was possible to pacify the Ndigbo 3-4 years ago, but today, the anti-Nigeria sentiments run really deep that I doubt that even if Nigeria turns around to create a level playing field for all by: Abolishing quota system which demands that an Igbo child scores 168 while Fulani needs a score of 2 to qualify in an exam. Making Eastern ports operational so that an Igbo wouldn't have to go to Lagos to clear their imports instead of Calabar or Onne. Ensuring that a bright Igbo army general is not retired just for a less qualified junior to become Chief of Army Staff Giving every tribe access to control their natural resources Removing nepotism by allowing the brightest candidates Moghalu or Obi unhindered access to presidency instead of the usual corrupt business as usual politicians. I still doubt that up to 10% of Ndigbo would opt for Nigeria, considering the ever present threat of a Jihad with its terrorism against native tribes. You see, the agitation runs deep in that excising the one tribe bent on eliminating all others may well be the solution. And that, we all know is impossible. You see why Ndigbo are solidly behind Kanu and speaking with one voice. Igbo are just like US Rangers or Marines. Onye aghala nwanne ya. "No one gets left behind." We Do Not Abandon Our Own! Especially, when he is fighting for us. |
SimplyFacts:This is the first time you've made sense on Nairaland. I seriously suspect that they've offered Kanu a new deal and for the sake of all Igbo, I hope the deal includes Igbo in Benue, Cross Rivers, Delta, Kogi, Rivers, Bayelsa and Edo. Anything less is not good enough. |
MANDIPUTIN:I didn't know he has been released? |
Felixamos:Just 2. One more like him, African tribes in this contraption would be competing with Europe. |
PrinceOfLagos:Big is an understatement. Kanu is both enigmatic and charismatic. Even the Fulani government is awed at the groundswell of support a man commands from behind bars. Obviously, we are witnessing history in this Kanu guy. Is he perfect? No. But a maker of history all the same. Obviously the most influential black man alive today. |
benuejosh:Just remove Benue from your name. It's too disgraceful what you represent with Jihadists spilling blood in the Benue plateaus. We all know you have to eat, but at least show some respect to the dead. |
