RichDad1:And free the Jihadists? |
Nnamdi Kanu Of course you all know about him unless you don't live in Africa. He is the leader of the self-determination group, The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Kanu is currently on trial for treason for being an arrowhead in the quest for secession of the oil-rich South Eastern part of Nigeria. Kanu doesn't really see himself as Nigerian. That's understandable, but we add him on the list for obvious reasons. Obafemi Awolowo The Yoruba sage is often referred to as the best president Nigeria never had. Even the British colonialists knew that an Awolowo premiership would put the newly independent Nigerian nation on a path of progress and intentionally had him sidelined. Awo as he was fondly called was instrumental to the rise in literacy in his SW region. Dora Akunyili The former National Agency for Food And Drug Administration (NAFDAC) boss was a leader and public servant per excellence. She was also incorruptible in her quest at sanitizing consumables such as processed food and was the arrowhead in the fight against fake drugs. Dora is still remembered for he quest for excellence and integrity uncommon in these parts. |
This is journalism. Not the brown envelope reports from the Nigerian press. A country at war with itself just because black people do not reason well but teleguided. What stops ethnic nations from sitting down to reassess the terms of federating in a country? Why would the whiteman determine the future of peoples that have thrived for thousands of years and those people out of foolishness are led along KNOWING fully well that they're heading down a gorge? Nigeria is not workable but the greedy politicians would rather that everyone is caged and be massacred by Jihadists/bandits/separatists. All because most African are too lazy to earn their keep, too eager for unearned gain - the curse of the black man. |
perambulator:Exactly. The Iboes buying land in Yorubaland would be the losers. But the Fulani don't buy. They just grab as seen in Benue and Plateau. Hopefully, even those and theose they've occupied in Yoruba forests can be revoked by the LAND USE DECREE of 1978? |
PrinceOfLagos:At least, the Fulani progressively grabbing their land PEACEFULLY has given them peace instead of all the killings in Benue, Plateau, Kaduna and other places. Isn't peace better? Other Nigerian tribes ought to emulate this peaceful disposition of Yoruba. |
Sirjamo:We are saying the same thing bro. You're the ONLY tribe that Fulani have not grabbed their land in Nigeria. They only occupy your forests voluntarily. Other tribes ought to emulate your peaceful disposition. |
Yorubaritua1ist:But their skull-mining industry doesn't disturb their peace. The industry is just peripheral while people go about their businesses. Armed robbery is also a momentary activity so the general peace is preserved after the banks are robbed. What we are looking at is peace in terms of not rising against Fulani conquest agenda. |
No, the Nigerian military has been arming for many years while ESN just started arming a few years so the odds are 100:1. Unless ESN has the capability of bringing down war planes, the odds won't even be 50:1. Even if they now acquire anti aircraft guns and SAM, the odds would still be 20:1. So in reality, ESN can only fight asymmetrical warfare from the bushes if they want to protect the populace or urban warfare if they don't care about the populace and hope that they cause so much harm like BH is causing that Nigeria is forced to the negotiating table. An all out war like Tigray-Ethiopia is out of the question. Nevertheless, the advantage of ESN is that no Fulani herdsman would dare come near Igbo territory the way they carried chair and sat in Yorubaland and Tivland while tormenting Southern Kaduna and Plateau. |
LordVoldermort:Interesting viewpoint: survival instincts as against reifying the abstractness of an imaginary threat, interesting. |
dasparrow:But since the people surrendered their land as Femi Adesina suggested, there is NOW peace in all YorubaLand. Why don't other tribes imitate our peaceful Yoruba neighbors? |
LordVoldermort:Exactly what I meant, the most peaceful and reasonable tribe in all of Africa. The question is, why can't other tribes be reasonable like Yoruba at least for the sake of peaceful coexistence? |
It started in the NE as Boko Haram, now it's in NW as bandits, now it's starting in SE as Unknown Gunmen. All these have cumulatively led to the death of thousands of soldiers. Now I've been wondering which country survives a war against itself. With three regions at war with Nigeria, commonsense should tell you that the country is in trouble unless something is done and fast. Is it the SS and NC that won't agitate? As far as I know, even Niger is now mostly under BH cum Bandits so what's left of NC? With the killings in Benue and Plateau, who knows how long before the people there would say enough is enough? That brings us to the subject of the SW or YorubaLand which is suddenly calm after Sunday Igboho question was settled. I have no doubt that the SW will become the most peaceful region since as far as we know, it is the only region that is ready to succumb and hand over their ancestral land to Fulani without a fight. So, it is actually going to become the most peaceful region. Why don't other regions embrace peace like our SW brethren. After all, Fulani are only interested in land - forest land they've already occupied in YorubaLand. If this peaceful tribe can condone the capture of their territory, why can't all other tribes? |

Ndigbo are a peculiar people. They say Igbo like money more than all other tribes, yet Igbo (IPOB) sit-at-home action contradicts that. What surprises me is that I hear that IPOB had long suspended the Mondays sit-at-home, yet the Igbo Ezi-na-ulo seem to have bought into this concept based on the general consensus that Nigeria is no home for Ndigbo. I even heard that the governor have tried so hard to discourage it and bring people out to no avail. This Igbo protest reminds me of the German Machine of WWI, which once activated was programmed not to stop until the goal is accomplished. Now I wonder who can stop the Monday protests since IPOB that initiated it seems to no longer have the authority to stop it. Consequence of the never-say-die Igbo spirit. I envisage Ndigbo dedicating every MONDAY to the struggle for freedom from this whiteman-induced bondage. Perhaps, with this movement of the Igbo spirit, the eyes of other African tribes will be opened to what the African has become due to colonialism - the whiteman's puppet. |
festacman:His article shows you that he is in full support, in spirit. That is the onye aghala nwanne ya spirit of Ndigbo. Even Igbo in SA and US are participating in the same spirit, talk less an Ndigbo in the North or South West. |
Brilliant... as far as I'm concerned, this could be the first masterstroke from IPOB. |
If you want to feel relevant in Nigeria, just mention Igbo, the only tribe that their lives matter. |
DubaiLandLord:You do not know history my friend. Yoruba was IN Nigeria when the civil war started and was mobilized like other Nigerians. It is astounding how you people revisit history to make a lie out of it. Is it because we Igbo do not highlight the pogrom in the West, Mid-West and Benue because you people were following in the steps of your Fulani masters? Anyway sha, the good outcome is that Benue has started paying for Igbo blood they shed in the pogrom and Yoruba forests are already surrounded. It is ONLY IPOB wahala stopping Fulani mayhem in Yoruba land. So pray that it quietens down a bit in the East. Una turn dey come. I have researched the Nigerian crises and found out that you people lie a lot about history to make it favor you. For instance, your rubbish claim that Fajuyi elected to die with Ironsi is one of the most hideous fallacies called history. Claiming that a soldier whose name was penciled down and marked for death by coupists automatically elected to die with his host is ridiculous. If you doubt this, TY Danjuma is still alive. |
