I agree with you on all of the above except number 3.

I'm not Igbo, but I used to go to Igbo land for business.

Everybody knows the Igbos love money more than any tribe in Nigeria, that's why they are widely known as most shrewd entrepreneurs and business-minded people.

By the way, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IN LOVING MONEY. Me too I love money. The problem is HOW U GET IT (thru legal or illegal means) and HOW U SPEND IT (wisely or extravagantly).

NOTE: U didn't say anything about drug smuggling accusations on Igbos. Is it true Igbos are drug smugglers?

No hard feelings intended about the above question.

FYI: I love Igbos more than any tribe among all the tribes of the black race, including mine.

I hope in my next life I will rise as an oyinbo (if I will be allow to rise as a non-Black) or an Igbo (If I must rise as a Black person).
That's the only vice I dislike about my people...

Everything you are writing is total nonsense. Reading your first two paragraphs is really annoying. Maybe you should sit back and figure out what political party means first and how it works. Every region as it's own political party affiliation.

When APC is forming merger in 2013/2014, you are insulting Igbos that join the movement.

Instead of ranting on social media, convince PDP to give you Presidential ticket first, then rally for SW support.

APC cannot give you the opportunity because did not work for it. Even the Igbos heavy weight like Okorocha aren't talking about presidential ticket.

Don't be a robber, ask PDP to give you Presidential ticket first, then rally for SW support to win election
Why Iike the Yoruba treachery is that it'll backfire, and badly so. You see, the consequence of continual Fulani presidency is that the Jihadist will continue running amok and I assure you that no ethnic group will be worse off than Yoruba. Let greed keep leading you guys...No southerner will support Yoruba presidency, neither will the north. That should be clear enough

We are talking about power rotation to the south the way the north ensured power rotation in 2015 by co-opting Yoruba into their agenda at the expense of the south. What we are saying is that if the south MUST get power in 2023, then the south, all the south must rally around an Igbo presidency or southern presidency is dead on arrival. Yoruba either step down for Igbo or the north continues after Buhari. Isn't that clear enough to you? The Yoruba have nothing to leverage on. No southerner will back them and the north knows this since they have proven treacherous to the southern agenda. So you guys had better wake up before it''s too late. After all, what's at stake is far more than hunger and free crude oil. Remember Benin Republic IDPs if power fails to return to the south. Hope this helps...

Even you DO NOT believe what you wrote there. Who will vote a Yoruba in the south? And who will do that in the north? The worst case scenario is that the north continues beyond 2023. The best case scenario is that the Yoruba put away betrayal albeit temporarily and back Igbo presidency for power to shift to the south. Southern minorities won't vote Yoruba man and Igbo definitely won't. Nevertheless, you guys have the opportunity to pacify the south for 2015 betrayal. Maybe, if you do, we all will overlook your treacherous ways. What we want is unity.

Politics › Who Will Vote A Yoruba Man for President In 2023? by ScamHunter(op):
A BAT/YemiOsiba for president sounds nice right? But who will really vote a Yoruba in 2023?

I do not reckon with any southerners supporting Yoruba's shot at presidency. Which ethnic group in the south will actually back a Yoruba man? In essence, a Yoruba contest for presidency is just like an AD man wanting presidency with only Yoruba votes.

But...what about the north?

Which north? The north already know that a Yoruba candidacy is an orphan without southern support. In fact, a Yoruba candidacy is ignominious to other southerners so in a southern sense, a Yoruba presidential candidate is an orphan.

But they supported the north in 2015 to grab power by betraying the south, it's now time for the north to reward them back by betraying themselves. Does that make sense to you? The north we know do not have the betrayal DNA. You can accuse them of other things but definitely not betrayal.

And the north is smarter than Yoruba and will teach them they're not smart at all. They'll show that there is strength in unity, northern unity.

So what will happen to Yoruba after betraying the south?
They'll become like bat, you know that a bat is neither a bird nor a rodent. Doesn't belong to the air and doesn't belong to the ground. Yoruba do not belong to the North, neither do they belong to the South. In essence, with a major tribe cut out of the south, the north is on top of its game.

The only solution to reverse the betrayal of the south in 2015 is simple: a unity for Igbo presidency. After all, Igbo have been supporting all southerners to presidency. Any party rooting for a Yoruba in 2023 is already a loser without southern and without northern votes.

Igbo 2023

Boko Haram wipes out a battalion in NE, no one cares
Fulani clears out whole villages in Yoruba land, that's no news
Ethnic cleansing in Southern Kaduna, Plateau and Benue kills 900 in 2 days, everywhere is silent
But...

Gunmen kill a couple of policemen in Igbo land....everywhere is on fire.
In fact, in Igbo land, no gun man is known. They have special name for it, Unknown Gun Men. In other places, the gun men are known but if it is Igbo, they're unknown.

Why are Nigerians obsessed with Ndiigbo and whatever happens in Ala Igbo?
Why does news about Igbo excite or scare Nigerians so much?
Why does anything Igbo attract you guys like hordes of bees to honeycomb?
What is it about Igbo that give you people sleepless nights?

Are Igbo lives the most valuable in Nigeria or what?
If yes, why are you all excited when they kill Ndiigbo or are you all hypocrites in this country?

Even on Nairaland, Igbo news are the most popular. Some are more than 20 pages even though there's more that should concern Nigerians about other regions: thousands are murdered in the north daily. In the West and MB, the Fulani threat is at level 4 compared to level 1 in Igbo land yet no one cares... It's no news.

Ndiigbo reminds me of Brezhnev during the Suez crises that sneezed and Britain caught cold. What a tribe... what a nation.

Are Nigerian politicians worth risking lives for? Considering that this election may be more of a contest between the Fulani (APC) and Ndiigbo, is it really worth it sticking out our necks knowing that the likelihood of being caught by stray and intentional bullets is high? Knowing our Igbo people, many would rather die than see what happened in Imo state replicated in Anambra. Nevertheless, I would advise that UGM step down and stand down so that people are not put in harms way. I think that is exactly what ESN has done all these while. Whoever is in charge of UGM should make sure that people are not caught in cross-fire. We can see from the rampant shooting in civilian neighborhoods and burning of houses that these security agents don't really have rules of engagement.

Biafrarep:
I like people that think deeply and logically, and not from emotions.

You made strong points and I would like to add that the North, especially the Fulani rulers there already knows that it would be a very huge gamble if Igbos are sidelined in 2023. The ripple effects will be so bad that Nigeria may never recover from it.

The truth is that secessionist groups, particularly IPOB have capitalized on mass Igbo anger against Nigeria to build a formidable base in the East. Already, they're fast becoming so powerful in Igboland that you can't come out publicly now to condemn them in the SE!

The question is, how did IPOB grew from obscurity to become so powerful post 2015? Simple, prior to 2015, many Igbos, especially the elite started believing that Igbo reintegration into Nigeria is now a reality. But that hope was totally destroyed when Buhari emerged and started a renewed national renaissance against Igbos and whatever they stood for. For the first time since 1970, Igbos became alienated again and grossly discriminated against and many lost hope of ever being accepted in Nigeria. IPOB was on hand to exploit the situation to their advantage and boom, their ranks swelled! Their accounts swelled from global donations too! And their capacity equally grew from an obscure group to a behemoth controlling millions of dollars and millions of followers around the world!!

If by 2023, and against all wise counsel, Igbos are denied again, whether by hook or crook, I seriously doubt Nigeria can withstand the outcome and survive as a nation. The Nigeria of 1967 that was seen by the rest of Africa and the as a beacon of hope is not the Nigeria of 2021 that is now a huge source of embarrassment and worry. Crude oil that made UK so desperate to support Nigeria, even at the cost of millions of lives is no longer desirable with moves towards clean energy sources. The argument that allowing Nigeria to break up will cause instability in Africa as other nations will do likewise was a massively used propaganda in 1967 but it won't work now.

Lastly, the last thing North wants is for Nigeria to break up because obviously that would result in sorrows for them. But any major conflict between Igbos and Nigeria will definitely end up in break up, even if it lasts 1 year or 10 years because it would be a guerilla conflict and there won't be a clear winner until UN eventually wades in. Now, whenever UN moves in to restore peace, they always arrive with referendum. A referendum, especially after a bitter guerilla warfare can only result in 100% vote for independence.

Now, once Igbos leave, which other Southern group will want to remain?

Allowing Yorubas to rule in 2023 will add zero advantage to Nigeria's continued existence or to North because Yorubas would only lose interest in Nigeria once Igbos leave but provided Igbos remain, they will remain too regardless of the insecurity situation.

The only thing that would prevent the violent break up of Nigeria now and going forward is Igbo presidency in 2023. It's not a threat but based on realistic projections
You are also right. Nigeria miscalculated in Buhari with respect to Igbo. The fact is that educated Igbos who were adults during the war are the only Igbos conscious of the marginalization of the tribe by successive governments. We the younger generation see these things but never put them to heart because of the natural edge that Ndiigbo have over other Nigerian tribes. However, what Buhari did was to rub it in our faces and actually made the older generation point out what we have been overlooking.

For instance, why would there not be functional ports in the East despite Ndigbo making up the bulk of citizens involved in international trade? Why would the North have more states than the East or West? These are facts that we didn't note seriously before now. If there are 19 states in the north, there should be 19 states in the west and 19 states in the East since these are the components that made up Nigeria at independence. What we never realized is that the country has been at war since 1967 with only one section (north) going home with the spoils of war, sometimes foolishly supported by Yoruba.

There is no way some of us would have given Biafra a second thought because we thought that it was a tale from the past. The country we grew up knowing is Nigeria. I actually saw MASSOB and IPOB as rabble rousers before Buhari made people like us realize where our allegiance should be - with our own people. In practice, listening to Kanu a few times, I saw nothing that would have made IPOB Igbo leaders because he actually has no roadmap to Biafra beyond chaos (from my analysis of his speech a few times I listened to him) but just as our people would say, "ma a hughi ebe aga ebido aka, ebido ya nikpere"

Any African history that starts with someone marrying one wife is a lie.

Let me tell you something. During my years of entertaining people's history, I noticed that most of them was to make the people that are narrating it to claim dominance over others (as an Igbo man, you can get the perfect picture without me mentioning names).
Igbo are patri-linear so you wouldn't expect them to highlight women even in oral tradition. What we do know is that in those days, having many children was top priority and barrenness a taboo. That was why men marries as many wives as they could even up till old age. Also the need to have many other humans around was responsible for this. Having more people obviously helped in defending the homesteads.

I think I mentioned somewhere that ethnicities are formed after thousands/hundreds of years.
All Communities in Igboland are made up of almost Igbo people but saying that they all come from one man is a lie. The only common thing is that they were all part of the evolution that gave birth to the identity "Igbo" which is thousands of years old.

In the past people migrate alot, and they settle where is favourable to them. There was no defined boundary then so people settle close to each other without knowing it. With time, they all become part of one community. Then a name is given, it might be from them or outsiders to refer a particular place which is where they inhabit.

So my dear I am not saying that your elders don't know what they are talking about but that your history much older than that.
OK that your town, is there no village in it that bears the same name with a villages in other communities around?

I think you are right. He was the one that deforested the jungle we now call home. Must have been terrifying. One more thing I noticed about my ancestors is that they loved having neighbors. This means that people must have been few and dangers much. This is one of the resons why they welcomed migrants and made them feel at home and adopt our place. There is a common saying in my place that Gidigidi bu ugwu eze. They wanted more people around possible for company or to help ward off attacks. We may never know the main reason.
