Now, an atmosphere here is a mixture of gasses trapped and held in place by the gravitational force of an astronomical body around it. So we talk of torrents, vapor or clouds etc.

So how does this affect the Sunlight as we see it?
First the Sun emits a huge amount of electromagnetic waves including the visible light waves we can see. The white light you see is actually a combination of different wave energies from violet to blue, green, yellow, orange red… with red having the highest wavelength .
