LETS GO THERE...United don't lose that often at OT...we doing this |
These people including our leaders are plotting and stealing from us. What they plan to steal is our very future, they want to tell us when to sit, when to sleep, when to eat and when to work. They want to decide not just your future but the future of our children. They live like kings while we sweat for scraps and they care not what you issues are. They would have the Yoruba man believe that is problem is the Ibo man and tell them both that their problem is Hausa, they would divide and conquer us, while they loot the very essence of our country from beneath us. WE NEED TO GET ANGRY. And the least person in NL has more sense than the greatest leader in Nigeria, for I tell you this and I tell you the truth, we need to start seeing them as our enemies, and understand that we are at war. For while we sit here obedient to their dogma, they are carrying away our fortunes and calling us fools while they do it. And if indeed their is such a thing as Nigeria, then does it not belong to us and are we not more than them. WE NEED TO GET ANGRY. Understand that what I am saying is not easy, but also understand that if any in Nigeria thinks he has self-determination that person is deluded and has been brainwashed. There is no self determination in Nigeria, your elections are rigged and your leaders are all crooks. We talk of being a super power, when we don't have enough super highways. We talk of being a Republic but a Yoruba man cannot govern the Ibos or vice versa and they have led us to believe that this dysfunctionality should be the norm. WE NEED TO GET ANGRY. You ask me what the answer is and I tell you, we have not yet gotten angry enough to do anything. When you are angry enough, and enough of you are angry and not easily pacified, then it will be time to talk of solutions. |
dougivilla: What is your own suggestion for a way out? We ave traded blames enough. *me thinks*You don't want my answer and I am not blaming anyone, I just wish I could make you see what I see. And if I could do that, then I would make you angry, because that is the way out: WE NEED TO GET ANGRY!! |
Dibiachukwu: When ICC would try Britain, Belgium, France, and all other European pigs that invaded Africa; then I will consider taking them seriously. Then they must also go ahead and try russia, egypt, australia, algeria, france, britain, and isreal for their crimes in the biafran war. Then they would have to try usa for their crimes in congo and haiti. Then they have to try china for their crimes in tibet. Then they have to dismantle UN and make it democratic. It is only a fool or a coward that would listen to a word that comes out of the mouths of these fools! KELE CHUKWU.Please don't say that to the people in NL, they will accuse you of being a conspiracy theorist. |
How do we fix Nigeria? How can you fix Nigeria without getting educated on what the issues are, how can you get educated when the vast majority think only of themselves. How can we fix 'country' that has no commonality of purpose. Everyone in this forum is too much of a professor and not enough of a student for you to fix the region. And if you take NL as a microcosm of the larger whole, you might get scared. |
It saddens me when I witness arguments that have so little to do with the fact, but are rather based on a person's unwillingness or fear to face what is being proposed. For the record, no one is arguing that Boko Haram was formed by the CIA, rather what is being debated is whether they are now being used to lead the war of misdirection which they are the masters at .What we are trying to ascertain is what their agenda for the region is. It is no secret that when it suits the agency they will fund counterinsurgency in order to get what they want (Nicaragua, the Contras). Nigeria represents a fertile ground for such actions, because as someone already alluded we are not a united people, it is in this arena that they are able to ply their trade. For the record, a functioning Nigeria is not in the best interest of the West. We have too much that they need, can you imagine a Nigerian policy that states that we would stop exporting oil, but rather refine it for ourselves and stop importing refined crude, do you know how devastating that would be to certain Western Interests. Someone asked a question, that why would they want to do more when they can already get what they want through our corrupt leaders. The answer is simple, because what was once the province of the west is now being challenged by China and India. These countries are now a force to reckon with and they are demanding the same access to 'OUR RAW MATERIALS", so the west need to step up their game, and they will NOT do that on the basis of cooperation with us, because that would mean their policy towards us must change, I don't see that happening, do you. Rather than do that, it is easier and cheaper to foment unrest and unsettle the region. Do you have any idea how many coups have been funded by the CIA (Iran, Iraq, Egypt). It would be naive to state that Nigeria is the way it is simply because of outside agents, it would be even more naive to state that outside agents have not been using our dysfunctionality to their advantage. |
This discussion shows just how well western propaganda has worked in shaping how we think and how we view the world. If Africa and by extension Africans knew what was good for them, instead of clamouring for a place in the UN, they would all reject the UN and focus instead on strengthening PAN AFRICAN ties. The UN and all its agencies have been used to maintain and secure western relevance and economic dominance in the world. The biggest contributor to the UN is the US and trust me, the US only invests in things that benefits the US. So you tell me, if US interests and African interests are mutually compatible and when you realize that they are not, maybe then you will realize that once again, we have been hoodwinked and bamboozled. |
@ Capnd143, my guy, to understand their foreign policy, na to weak o. When Africom was first proposed, most African countries said no, ever since then we have seen an 'increase' in attacks on US interests which has led to an increase in US presence. It started with the somali pirates, then Arab Spring, then Gbagbo, soon Boko Haram enter, now Mali. From where and how can. Because of this they now have a drone base in Niger. What is in Niger to protect? They are in Niger because it is strategically located. Economically speaking, the Chinese are more willing to engage the Africans on their own terms, without including terms mandating changes in our social policy, as a matter of fact, it has become apparent that the West is losing the battle to engage Africa economically, because the tools they use are onerous. We all remember the damage that the IMF, WTO, ILO and the Paris Club did to us and we are not in a hurry to return to that. The Chinese don't have those hang-ups or those issues. What they can not get economically (which was never their plan anyway), they will gain militarily through Africom, which has you rightly pointed out protects their interest. Now let me ask you a question, there are more Africans in the America, that there are American in Africa, so why don't we propose to have a military base here, to protect African interests? |
YES...Until then you are just fooling yourselves. The reason that this region (I refuse to call it a country) is the way it is, is because the populace have shown repeatedly that it is not worth fighting for. There is NO commonality of purpose, no two people agree on what 'Nigeria' is supposed to represent. There are endemic and systemic failures that have never being addressed and nobody agrees on a way forward... If 'Nigeria' was a science project, it would have been scrapped a long time ago... |
I concur |
We need to decide for ourselves what we want to be, as opposed to measuring up to the standards of others in an already rigged game. If we let others dictate what it means to be a 'power', then we will NEVER measure up, because I contend that it is not in the interest of the west that we achieve our potential. What we need to decide (for ourselves) is what we want to be, this notion of being a 'power', is actually a distraction from the larger questions that we need to be asking. |
tim107: It is clear that without electricity there can be no industrial development and all those grand visions of becoming one of the world's leading economies by 2020 cannot be relaised. Is that the only bench mark... |
Guys we don't even need to go that far to understand that western education is propaganda mixed with misdirection wrapped in social engineering. The primary focus of this mix of garbage is to keep your focus firmly fixed upon their 'achievements' whilst at the same time making you feel sorry for your lack of contribution. It is by design that history is always taught from their perspective and not ours, it is by design that they re-write the achievements of others to fit within their grand design. It does nothing to their narrative to acknowledge that Africa is the birthplace of civilization, it does not help their narrative to teach the fact that the oldest empires filled with learning, commerce, social discourse, philosophical exploits come from other races. What they had was bronze and copper and iron. When we begin to fully grasp this and to grasp just how far and for how long that this has been going on, maybe then we can start to engage ourselves properly and start to ask some fundamental questions. That is when you understand that Nigeria and by extension Nigerians is a white mans construct, the lines that you see on the African map demarcating us are abitrary and work solely in their favor and not ours. That is when you realize that there really is no such thing as Ghana or Cameroon or Congo or all these other places, but that the WHOLE thing belongs to ALL OF US. Why do you think Pan-Africanism is ridiculed and so much money is spent by the west making sure we have in place all these fools who have little understanding of how to govern themselves let alone a whole country. It is sad and the work is long and hard and I will be honest and say that time is running out, I would be even more honest by admitting that it is too late to do anything about it. |
But the problem is that a war (economic, financial and territorial)is being waged in the countries of Africa and in none of the scenarios do we emerge as the victors. The West and Other powers understand that Africa is the last frontier and the powers that control Africa control the future. Is it any wonder that the Congo has never been free of strife and yet still exports raw materials. The precedence has now been set for judicious intervention by western powers into African affairs and that does not bode well for that region. The scenarios we have seen from Gbagbo, The Arab Spring and The Death of Gaddafi shows that they are willing to commit troops into our fields if they feel it benefits them. Now with this Mali issue and Boko Haram becoming a regional force we can be sure to see more of their 'intervention' into African affairs. The sides in this conflict are forming and it is interesting that Africans are not being consulted, their interests form little or no part in the equation and most Africans don't even know this. |

This guy clap for yourself, that whole region is in trouble they just don't know it yet. |
Boko Haram is just the pretext for their arrival, this is a long term strategic move, one that the inept leaders in Africa fail to see or more importantly counter... |
Peace is the lull, during which their ill gotten gains are tallied and the next conflict devised. |
I wonder why this thread isn't generating the conversation it should. Is it because the forummers here discount the use of black-ops or false flag programs to initiate regime change or the distabilization of a region. The truth engendered by this discussion has become even more apparent now that 'Boko Haram' is claiming responsibility for kidnappings in Cameroon. All of a sudden Boko Haram has now become a regional player. It begs the question, where are they getting their funding from and more importantly, why are they now operating in Cameroon. |

I can't believe that this is being discussed, the Church should not do it. On whose behalf are they doing it. It can't be God. This practice is so beyond the pale, it hardly merits discourse. Would it not have been interesting if Josephs marriage to Mary was subjected to this...things happen. We are human beings, we are not perfect.... |

Let us not in haste, seek solutions that do nothing to address our underlining issues. Blaming the North for our collective malady is an oversimplification of very complex issues. |
This is a rather stranger term, but I like it, I think it's quite apt. Pastorization starts when believers delegate their cogitative functions to a spiritual authority figure. Pastorization persists because believers sometimes fail to understand that a spiritual journey is ultimately within the purview of the individual. The word says 'Seek ye...', which means you must look for, the Bible also says '...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.' When we fail at this task, it becomes the norm to have others dictate to you their interpretation of the word without allowing yourself to take some measure of responsibility for what you are being told. Obedience to the word is not obedience to man, and whilst we might argue about the infallibility of the word, the fallibility of Man is a given. I like it when the word says '...come let us REASON together...', there is an element of spiritual cogitation and meditation that must occur before one arrives at a Truth. This Truth cannot tbe spoon fed to you. Pastorization occurs when counsel shifts to command or when guidance becomes law. |
This is not news, neither is it new. The same thing happened to me and we were able to come to an amicable solution. He just wanted me to give him something so I could collect my money and I obliged...I gave him a slap and I got my money. |
I tell you this and I tell you the truth, all this is ritualistic nonsense and it is unfortunate that dogma and doctrine is often mistaken for truth. We should take care that in seeming wise we do not render the word of God ineffectual. If this practice does indeed happen, then it is an extreme overreaching on the part of that Church and should be denounced. |
rhymz: You must be mistaken me for one wanna-be NL Kid. Long before I joined NL I have always had problems reconciling biblical stories with historical facts and logic. I have even had problems with youth leaders in my parish over the way I question the irrationality of some of the church doctrines. I once got into trouble for openly condemning the worship of Mary and other statues in school-I went to a catholic school by the way, St Finbarr's College Akoka. So I did not start anything here I only found out I could openly discuss these issues here without risking mob attack and lynching from anyone like I have had to experience many times even as recent as during my Service year. I stayed in family house NACC but had serious problem over religious beliefs and doctrines with almost everyone else since they were all die hard catholics. I am not your average follow follow commentator here. You can even look up threads that I have created in the past on NL is religious issues, they are not your usual let's fight christian threads. I am not into that but I will use every opportunity I have here to puncture the christian claim to truth and eternity.I was only trying to ascertain if your move from Theism to Atheism was sparked from dialogue on this thread. It was not my intention to insinuate anything else. If you think that was my objective, then I beg your pardon for framing my question in a clumsy manner. Regards. |
Logicboy03: Wrong! I he had at least 3 ex christians that have left their faith because of arguments here. They replied me on threads long ago. However one example is on the logicboy effect thread. Will look for it.Then I stand corrected. |
