EducationAnambra Clinches The First And Second Positions In ANCOPSS National Quiz by Schematics(op):
Anambra excels in education again, clinches 1st and 2nd positions in ANCOPSS Quiz, … Retains title for keeps!

Anambra State has continued to show its leading position in the field of education in Nigeria with the latest information revealing that students of the State posted excellent performances in the just-concluded 2015 All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) Quiz competition organized for Nigerian students.

The State represented by Master Umeh Anthony Nnaemeka of Igwebuike Grammar School Awka came tops in this year’s ANCOPSS Quiz Competition organized for all schools in Nigeria as a way of enhancing academic performance of students.

By the excellent performance of Master Umeh, Anambra State retains the cup for keeps, being the 3rd consecutive time students from the State are winning the cup.

ANCOPSS organizes the Quiz and Essay competitions yearly for competition by all schools in the nation as a way of enhancing academic performance of students.

In the Essay competition of the same ANCOPSS Competition, Miss Okoro Chiazagom Emmanuella of Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha (Q.R.C) Onitsha took the 2nd position.

Normally, the ANCOPSS competition starts from the various states at the Local Government Area level, then 1st position winners move to compete at State level, from where they move to compete at Zonal level and from the six geopolitical Zones, the national competitors emerge.

Reacting to the outstanding performance of students from the State in the Quiz and Essay competitions, governor Obiano restated the commitment of his administration to continue to improve on infrastructure and manpower in the schools at all levels.

Recall that governor Obiano was welcomed into office in early 2014 with the news of successful performances of candidates from the State who recorded first position among all the states in the country whose candidates took the 2013 National Examinations Council (NECO).

The NECO success came barely a week after the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) statistics showed that Anambra State came first among all the states in the country whose students took the 2013 WASSCE.

PoliticsChuka Umunna And Chi Onwurah Re-elected Into The Parliament by Schematics(op): 12:42pm On May 08, 2015
Four Nigerian-Britons have all won resounding victories in Thursday’s parliamentary elections in the United Kingdom.

Three of them, Chi Onwurah, Helen Grant and Chuka Umunna won re-election, with wider majorities, while a new face, 46 year-old Kate Osamor will be representing Edmonton constituency in the 650-member House of Commons.

Kate replaced long-standing Labour MP for the constituency, Andy Love. But she did better expanding Labour’s majority here. She won 25,388 votes, as against her rival Conservative party candidate, Gonul Daniels who got 9.969 votes. Kate Osamor had spent 15 years as a GP Practice manager under NHS and has been a trade union activist and community leader. Her mother, Martha Osamor was a former community activist at Haringey Council, who was selected to represent Labour as MP for the same constituency in 1989. But Neil Kinnock, then Labour leader yanked her off the ballot at the last minute.

Onwurah, Labour MP for Newcastle Central and shadow cabinet office minister, thrashed her Conservative Party rival, Simon Kitchen, by a majority of 12, 683 votes. She garnered 19,301 votes in contrast to Kitchen’s 6,628 votes. The 50 year-old Imperial College graduate has already thanked in a tweet, all those who made her election ‘go extremely smoothly’.

Helen Grant, who has a Nigerian father has been since 2010 the first Conservative Party black female MP, representing Maidstone and The Weald in Kent. She is the current minister for Sport, Tourism and Equalities. In her constituency election, she even won a grander decisive majority, than her showing in 2010. She polled 22,745 votes, representing 45.5 per cent of the votes cast. Her Liberal Democrat rival, got 12,036 votes. The candidate of UKIP, Eddie Powell, that polls said was capable of creating an upset, got 7,930 votes.
Chuka Umunna, current shadow business secretary also won big in his Streatham Constituency, winning 53 per cent of the votes cast. He polled 26, 474 votes, untroubled by both the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats candidates. The Conservative candidate got 12,540 votes and Lib. Dem, 4,491.

“Anambra State is blessed with over one billion barrels and 30 trillion cubic feet of oil and gas, most of which are relatively unexploited. Our objective is to have a fully developed and self-sufficient oil and gas sector in Anambra State by 2018. We intend to achieve this through three broad areas of intervention, policy formulation and infrastructure development, private sector participation and community re-orientation,” Obiano emphasised.http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/obiano-in-houston-woos-investors-for-anambra-s-oil-and-gas-development/208808/

I think you're correct in terms of integrating the club with its city of domicile.

I think the club may still be renamed in the future to reflect society.

BuddahMonk:
Am not critizing Innoson i love the brand name asmuch as i love the product but he should try and make the company have the same outlook Ford, Suzukis and Hondas of this world have, what does it cost, why is he yet to be planning on how to be listed on the stock market?

See Ifeanyi Uba is least wealthy omanbala i admire his style.
You mentioned Iwuanyanwu, if i were around then i will still criticize it, so what happened to Abiola Babes, OUK, Udoji, Jasper, et al and all these accidental bigmen with pot belly owned clubs

these are clubs that lack integration with the society, am a brand manager and i know what it means to run different orgs and how to project them to the audience.

Sports clubs all over the world are integrated and part and parcel of the host community that is where they get their fanbase, loyalties, supports, investments from.
You hardly see an Enugwu resident that support Enyimba and rarely see an Aba person that support Heartland who is not from Imo State, if this club is named Nnewi or Anaedo believe me many Nnewi people will come out en masse to identify with it.

How can i support a club with an individual's name for self glorification and chestbeating, this is not even a club yet though i will be mistakenly calling it that for the time being.

Dont you see Ice Cube or Game wearing Raiders or Lakers apparels, Common or Lupe Fiasco will only be wearing Bulls or Bears, while in NY people follow the yankees, rangers, jets, knicks and the Gaints....these clubs will increase your love and patroitism for your city that is one of the philosophies.
We need to learn from them abeg, we need it, lets stop exhibiting stiffneck in everything.
I was born in Onicha and i love and respect the city of my birth, if want to show off my royalty i will buy apparels from clubs that integrate the city in their outlook and brand building not one big man that is trying to show off his wealth.

Tomorrow now if Ifeanyi Uba get nnukwu ugba for biz or image it will affect the club because it was built around an individual not a city, town or state.

Its obvious what is eating you. Great Zik the first president of Nigeria was not from your region and you are really hurt about that. I really share your pain. But just take it easy. cool

Great Zik of Africa was Africa's greatest. Live with it bro because that is a fact you can't even change not here. cheesy

Volksfuhrer:
You need not resort to tantrums when confounded by brutal facts. Zik was not the only one that fought for Nigeria's independence, nor did the fight for independence originate with him! Even the success of the West African Pilot was not Zik's alone, despite the fact that he owned it!

It self-deprecating to think Nigerians needed Zik to cry for independence. Independence for Nigeria was a categorical imperative of any educated person then. Zik was not the only educated one around, nor was he the only activist. Aminu Kano for instance, had it even more difficult than Zik. He had to battle the British overlords and the Northern feudal lords at the same time! Please, I know the heroes of this country, Zik is not one of them!
PoliticsRe: WAS ZIK A Prophet?...a Must Read! by Schematics:
You have cried for too long, since last night. Your whining and crying does not for a minute remove the fact that Zik was Nigeria's number ONE and among the finest three in Africa.

I would even rate Nkruma less than Zik because it was even Zik that influenced Nkruma to go get a university degree from Lincoln.(Read Achebe’s: There was a country)

I might even rank Zik to the likes of Washington because they were first presidents of their respective countries. And they didn't achieve that feat by being an armed chair warriors.

Great Zik of Africa was/is best and greatest gift to Nigeria.

Please stop crying and live with these realities. cheesy

Volksfuhrer:
Tales by moonlight!

You see, the job of a historian is not only to present facts but also to explain them. In which case he never loses his focus of the big picture.

Please, Zik and Nkrumah were not in the same class. Who told you Nkrumah was "diplomatic" like Zik. Nkrumah was fearless! Remember, Nkrumah was imprisoned for leading a revolt. Anyway, let me move away from minutiae to a more serious issue.

Even though I'm not an "Ojukwuist," but notwithstanding the outcome of the civil war, I still believe Ojukwu was a better leader than Zik. Ojukwu made many mistakes but he stayed true to his cause till the end. He had a vision, locked his mind unto it and unequivocally pursued it!

Question: was Zik not originally part of the Biafra cause? O yes, he was! Was Zik not sanguinary too at this time for supporting Biafra? Or he didn't know there would be war at secession? Here lies your hypocrisy!

Further question: what happened to your beloved hero when it appeared Biafra would lose the war? This is what happened. Your Zik defected to the side of "one Nigeria...indivisible...indestructible!" This was the same man who wrote Biafra's anthem! No wonder the British called him Zikzag!

Sorry, there's long list of indiscretions impeaching Zik's integrity as a great leader. Need I say more!

Let me even assume for the sake of arguement that you are not a historic Nincompoop, A speech like this in the late 40's can land you in a gas chamber anywhere in Eastern Europe let alone Africa.

Do you know the definition of treason in 1940? "Any action or thought that embarases the emperor" in this case the queen of England. Zik just incited his people to civil disobedience and self determination under the watch of the Emperor and you dare call him a coward?

Do you know that as early as 1893, not saying "God bless the queen" can land your head on a spike?

I don't expect an academically inept generation to know that.

Great Zik of Africa was the first president of Nigeria. Being the first president of Nigeria is so unique. Its a fact known all over the world. Some people even wanted to be president for just one day but they never succeeded. Stop crying and face the reality.

He didn't achieve anything in your poisoned mind but he is the most honored nationalist in Nigeria; the most important airport is named after him, Nigeria's highest denomination has his image, all the major cities from Abuja, Lagos, PH, Onitsha, Kano, kaduna, etc has major roads named after him. FG built mausoleums in his honor at his birth place in Zungeru and in Onitsha where he was buried.

Great Zik singlehandedly led the way for Nigerian independence and subsequently became the first president of Nigeria. It didnt happen by chance my friend. Lol

Being courageous is not about physical fight. Zik floated the first newspaper in West Africa the West African Pilot to fight the British to a standstill.

Great Zik was among the first educated Africans to study in America. Zik influenced even Nkruma to go study in Lincoln University--America.

Zik can only be rated among firebrands as Mandela, Nkruma etc.

Great Zik was Nigeria's number one nationalist and among first 3 in Africa.

There are few in Africa that are in his class.

Volksfuhrer:
Sorry, Zik was overrated! He was only good at hiding behind his speeches, pretending to be courageous!

Foremost nationalist? Say something else. Someone that the British saw merely as a nuisance does not deserve such appellation. Zik that the British had already caged long before independence is what you call foremost nationalist!
