|
olapluto:Alaba Jonathan and her Bayelsa Queens teammates were dropped because they went to play League games and the coaches asked them to stay back and not to report back to camp.... they even pleaded but Coach Thomas Dennerby asked them to stay back. But Osarenoma Igbinovia have already teamed up with the team after her Wedding ceremony..
|
Daejoyoung:I will always go for Oparanozie ahead of her, She faces tougher and Physical opposition than Uchechi in terms of League. Ebere Orji is still among the invited strikers, she would be a valuable option upfront too... having scored 10goals this season for her Swedish club Mallbacken IF |
Sweden Women Football League Referees have awarded Nigerian Superfalcons defender Faith Ikidi Michael as one of the best player on the pitch during the 2017/18 League season that just ended... Congrats to her.....
|
enomakos:yes Uchechi Sunday currently based in China |
PDPGuy:Benching Oparanozie is another difficult task oh.. |
Nigerian Superfalcons tall striker Uchechi Sunday who plays for Meizhuo Huijun FC Win China Women Football League title ...Qualified for the Super League (highest division) were Oshoala and Onome Ebi play.
|
I watch most of her games highlights she is such a gifted and talented scorer. |
olapluto:She is still very young and combining Education with Soccer is never a bad deal. Hopefully if her dreams come true she would be playing in the USA NWSL, which she already said.

Former U20 international Uchenna Kanu scores her 100 collegiate career goals in USA.

Ikidi wins league title with Pitea Super Falcons defender Faith Ikidi-Michael has won her Third title in the Scandinavian region, reports Footballlive.ng. Ikidi lifted the Swedish Super Cup and League Cup in the colours of Linkoping in 2009 & 2010. The utility player and her Pitea teammates emerged as Swedish Dammalsveskan champions after they thumped Vaxjo 6-1 on Saturday. Pitea clinched the league title with 48 points, closely followed by Goteborg who had 47 points while third placed Rosengard finished with 45 points. Ikidi was an important of member of Pitea’s league winning team and featured in 20 matches this season. The 31-year-old joined Pitea from Linkoking in 2011. olapluto:chiamaka is the best in form goalie in Nigeria at the moment.. |
olapluto:Lol Rivers Angel coaches have their own reasons for benching Tochukwu Oluehi.... for Nnadozie. They both are not mate in terms of playing and experience, Tochukwu nicknamed The Flying Cat during her U20 days have been to 2 FIFA Women World Cup 2007 and 2011...she was also at the 2008 Olympics games Have also played in the UEFA Women Champions League, played in Belarus, Norway. Chiamaka is in form and developing fast, which I think doesn't need to be benched. Tochi has been there before even at 31yrs so there is no big deal. |
Onyinyechi Okeke Fumble when not expected especially from Set piece... she have the height over the rest but I bet... Alaba Jonathan is for sure our Second choice, she makes up for her average height with her sharp reflexes and Confidence in front of goal. she is such a wonderful goalkeeper. her game reading abilities can't be kept aside. |
PDPGuy:.. Tochukwu Oluehi is the most experienced goalkeeper among them with over 40Caps for the Superfalcons, She was used during the AWCON qualifiers ...
|
PDPGuy:I can bet my Money on this that Onyinyechi Okeke won't make this team 100%..... 1st choice... .Tochukwu Oluehi 2nd choice.....Alaba Jonathan 3rd choice.... Chiamaka Nnadozie ... Christy Ohaeriaku has a better chance of making the team than Onyinyechi.. |
Faith Ikidi win League title in Sweden and also qualifiers for the UEFA Women Champion League |
National Teams Oshoala Can Be World’s Best Player- Dennerby Super Falcons technical adviser, Thomas Dennerby has come out with a stunning declaration that one of the team’s top players, Asisat Oshoala could sometime in the future become World Women Footballer of The Year, footballlive.ng can report. After seeing the former FC Robo of Lagos and Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt attacker win the African honour thrice in recent years, Dennerby is not scared of thinking further for her and believes she can be the first player from the continent to win the global gong as well. The Dalian Quanjian of China attacker, who was top scorer in the Chinese Women’s Super League in 2017, took home the African honour in 2014, 2016 and 2017, but Dennerby says the former Arsenal and Liverpool ace can also corner the global prize before quitting the round leather game. Denerby affirmed: ”I know that Asisat is performing very well in her club China, last week she scored a hat-trick, I also know her coach. ”We have players that can be at the top list, but I feel we have to work hard, the better the team perform the better the individual can be..

National Teams Dennerby Plans International Friendlies For Falcons Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby is looking beyond next month’s Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, as he has started making plans for international friendlies for the squad. Although Dennerby stayed modest over his side’s chances of winning AWCON 2018 in Ghana, footballllive.ng gathered he is staying positive that they will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The top three teams at Ghana 2018 will go on to represent Africa at France 2019 and, though Dennerby insists the Falcons did not play well at the last edition of the continental championship that they won in Cameroon two years ago, he is upbeat they will again come tops. With that target in mind, Dennerby has now taken a projection into his build-up plans for the Mundial, hence his decision to start outlining the array of top-grade matches his side will play before heading to France. The Swedish tactician said he is hoping for quality preparations for the World Cup and wants some warm-up games for his side, as he says high-profile international friendlies are extremely important for his team. The 59-year-old tactician, who led the Falcons to a third-place finish at the WAFU Nations Cup in February before steering them to qualify for the 11th AWCON by mauling Gambia 7-0 on aggregate in June, charged Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to approve his build-up programme. Dennerby recounted how his side were not able to take advantage of previous FIFA windows, which he hopes will not be repeated next year, as he stressed that warm-up games will help his team reach top shape. He disclosed: “I have a schedule for the team. Now is the time to seal agreements with other countries worldwide for the FIFA international windows. It is extremely important for us to have friendlies. “Unfortunately we couldn’t use the window, but we still have another window from November 3. “I’ve been talking to a lot of the teams and they are interested in playing us. We have a lot of teams to play but I don’t have the final say on this; than to present my suggestions.”

2018 AWCON: Onome Ebi Not Scared of South Africa, Others As African Champions Eye World Cup Place Published: October 23, 2018 Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi has defiantly declared that the Nigeria's senior women national team are unperturbed by the threat of South Africa or any other country in the Group B of the 2019 Africa Women Nations Cup in Ghana as they seek to defend the title won in Cameroon two years ago. The Falcons coached by Thomas Dennerby are poised to clinch a record 11th African title having been unable to lift the trophy only twice since the competition began in 1998. The Falcons are grouped alongside South Africa, Zambia and Kenya after Sunday night's draw conducted by CAF's football development director and former Black Stars of Ghana defender Anthony Baffoe. "Facing South Africa is not different from facing any other team, as all teams are good to have qualified for the AWCON," Ebi exclusively told allnigeriasoccer.com on Tuesday. The Henan Huishang FC of China defender went on to insist that the Falcons are not just aiming to defend their title but have a good outing at the FIFA Women's World Cup in France next year. "This is not about being cocky. We respect other teams going to the Nations Cup but the motivation to defend this title is clear; it is serving as qualification to the next World Cup. "We are ready. Surely other countries are trying to catch up but this team (Nigeria) is strong and nobody scares us. We want to go to the World Cup and do very well this time," Ebi reiterated. Nigeria's best finish at the FIFA Women's World Cup was a quarter finals berth in 1999 when the Falcons lost 4-3 to the USA. Ghana, Cameroon, Mali and Algeria make up Group A of the CAF Africa Women Cup of Nations holding between 17 November and 1 December in Accra and Cape Coast. The three top teams (winners, runners up and bronze winners) will represent Africa at the FIFA Women's World Cup in France in 2019.

Banyana coach Ellis pleased to draw Nigeria in AWCON group Published on: 22 October 2018 South Africa coach Des Ellis says she is pleased to be meeting Nigeria in the group stage of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations, as her side seeks a first-ever qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup. Banyana Banyana, who have been runners-up in the continental championship on four previous occasions, have been pooled with the Super Falcons, Kenya, and fellow Southern African side Zambia for the tournament in Ghana from November 17 to December 1. It means Banyana will avoid tournament favourites Nigeria in the semifinals, if they make it that far, potentially boosting their chances of reaching the World Cup in France next year. The top three teams in Ghana will represent the continent on the global stage. "There was never going to be an easy group - all eight teams that have qualified are top quality, and we all know that to be the best, you have to beat the best," Ellis said in a media release from the South African Football Association. "We have been anxiously waiting for this draw to take place so that we take our preparations to the next level now that we know who we will face in the tournament." South Africa open their campaign against the Nigerians on November 18 in Cape Coast, before clashes against Kenya and Zambia round out their pool play. Ellis added: "Nigeria has won this tournament a record 10 times and they are the defending champions, so they will definitely be sensing victory against us. "But we are glad to be meeting them now and not later in the tournament because our last encounter ended in tears for us. We lost 1-0 in the semifinal of this competition in 2016, and that denied us a chance to be at the World Cup. "Playing them in the first match is also a tricky affair because you have to be on top of your game from the first whistle, and any mistake they will punish you. "In any case, I always tell the players that the first fixtures of any tournament are very important as they set the tone for the rest of the competition. I believe we will be ready for them this time - we are much wiser." Kenya only qualified for AWCON after Equatorial Guinea were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player, while Zambia could only manage fourth at the recent COSAFA Women's Championship. In terms of their potential semifinal opponents, Group A contains hosts Ghana, Mali, Algeria, and Cameroon, who Banyana defeated 2-1 in a hard-fought final of the COSAFA event. |
National Teams Dennerby Cautious Over Falcons’ AWCON 2018 Group Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby is staying cautious over reactions to the Africa Women Cup of Nations draw that pits his team with South Africa, Kenya and Zambia. Following Sunday night’s draw that placed the defending champions in Group B alongside the less-fancied three, many pundits have tagged it an easy stroll into the semi-final for the Falcons. However, footballlive.ng can report that Dennerby has refrained from sharing the same sentiments, as he acknowledged that every other country will be in Ghana next month to pick Women World Cup tickets. Ghana head Group A in Accra and Nigeria top Group B in Cape Coast, which means both rivals can only clash in the knockout stage of the tournament. In Ghana’s group for the tournament, which will run from November 17 to December 1, are 2016 hosts, Cameroon as well as Algeria and Mali. Two teams will qualify from each group, but only the top three teams from the competition will fly Africa’s flag at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France next June. Besides being defending champions, the Falcons are also the most successful team in the competition’s history, having won the tournament a record eight times. Dennerby, though, acknowledged that the Falcons’ record would be a big challenge to meet up with, as all other competitors at Ghana 2018 will want to bring down the Nigerians and eventually stop their domination. Dennerby said: “(It is) a good group and really have a good chance to win it even though we expect a tough game against South Africa. “We have a good idea of South Africa, but not much about Zambia and Kenya. We will try to analyse these teams and won’t underrate them.” |
